It is based on the symbols of Volga Bulgaria (the central lamb with a cross) and also Chuvash ornamentation, including the one above the lamb and the large stripe below. The colors of the flag are taken entirely from the Chuvash symbols, and the flag is also framed by a red and white stripe.

Hello everyone. I'm from Turkiye, and while researching Turkic languages recently, I came across Chuvash. I found it very different from the other Turkic languages. As far as I understand, that's because Chuvash split from the rest of the Turkic language family a very long time ago. Unfortunately, I've never had the chance to meet any Chuvash people, so I'm fairly ignorant about Chuvash culture and how Chuvash people view other Turkic peoples. I was curious to hear your honest opinions about us Turks. Feel free to be completely honest, I won't be offended. I'm genuinely interested in learning what you think.
