Windsor QB situation

Anyone know what happened to Nick D?

Overall I liked what I saw from Cotton.... only problem is he got hurt multiple times (not sure if this was conditioning or if he's taking too long to release the ball).

Nick D was a good QB last year but I think I'd prefer a healthy Cotton. The second string QB (Foulis) is promising but might need a bit more time to get used to the system.

2026 Game Feeds OUA.tv fixed FF (sort of)

I see that OUA.tv finally got the Fast Forward working on their 'On Demand' streams. Not really true FF, there are icons to jump 10s seconds ahead or 20s back.

You can also use the space bar to repeat the last jump, i.e. repeat jump ahead 10s, or repeat jump back 10s. So for example hitting the space bar 3 time will jump ahead 30 seconds.

This makes watching On Deman game a bit more convienient.

2026 Game Feeds Queens at Toronto

Not sure how it'll end up, but Toronto is looking mildly feisty. 7-2 Queens at the end of the first.

The PBP announcers on this game doesn't appear to have watched much football before IMO - he is regularly losing track of down and distance or missing action, and trying to shout excitement instead of just describing the action (eg, he just said Queens was going for it on 3rd and 5 from the 10 yard line when it was clearly 1st and 10).

York with the crazy finish

York wins its first game of the season 35-34 against Carleton with a 47 yards walk off FG from Nathan Walker.

Congrats to myself and the 2 others who picked them in the pool 😆

York football team looking good

York football broadcast horrible. Default camera appears to be shooting wide angle from the moon, and the color commentary sounds like he's on Jupiter. This isn't free to watch anymore guys, step it up.

Despite a ton of penalties and injuries, Laurier pulls it out vs Guelph. Not a great sign for the gryphons.

Falaax's Power Ranking Week 0

Hello! I'm back with my weekly rankings. Same thing as last year, I'm trying to give a proper power ranking of all 27 teams and then justifying it the best I can!

Small change this year tho: instead of writing it all here, I'll post the top 10 and if you want the whole ranking and more detailed explanations, you can watch the video!

https://youtu.be/EYCQ2LP7oGU (sorry for the sound btw, I just moved recently and have yet to set up my mic)

  1. Montréal
  2. Saskatchewan
  3. Queen's
  4. Laval
  5. Regina
  6. Laurier
  7. Calgary
  8. UBC
  9. Western
  10. McGill

The 2025 champs at #1, no surprise there. For the spots 2-4 I feel like they're very interchangeable but I decided to not be a Laval homer and give credit to Sask and Queens for winning their conference last year. Still question marks for Laval (not sure who the starting QB will be yet) but most of the team is coming back so they will be fine. Regina and Laurier was a close call, but better stability at Regina so I'm giving them the edge. Calgary will be back in the playoffs this year, I think they have a solid team (i think them and UBC will be finishing 3rd and 4th in CW, not sure of the order yet). Western had an ugly finish last season but will remain competitive. The young McGill team will be interesting to follow with a young talent at QB and possibly the best RB in the country.

Anton Amundrud back as starting QB for USask Huskies

This is the news we'd been hoping for ever since hearing in the spring that his cancer was in remission. Looking forward to seeing him leading the Huskies on the field Thursday evening, as the host the U of A Bears in an exhibition game in Saskatoon.

For those not familiar with his story, here are a couple excerpts from the latest update:

Last fall, Amundrud established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the country as part of a 4-1 start to the season with 1,604 yards passing, 14 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

But in October, Amundrud stepped away from the team to deal with a series of medical issues which were eventually diagnosed as T-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

What followed was months of hospital stays, tests and rounds of aggressive chemotherapy to tackle the disease.

Here's the full story:

Windsor Lancers TV PxP announcer reporting

Hey CIS nation!

I'm Aaron Sanders and I'm going to be the TV play-by-play announcer for Windsor Lancers football on YourTV/Cogeco this season!

I've spent the last 10 season being the PxP announcer for plenty of Windsor teams and beyond (FIBA, Lancer basketball, Windsor Express), PA announcer (Lancer volleyball, Essex Ravens, etc.) and would travel around Ontario to do high school basketball games as well (OSBA).

I've heard lots about this reddit forum and it was about time that I join in. This is my first season going behind the mic for OUA football and I'm looking forward to seeing how things shape out for the Lancers, OUA and U SPORTS this season.

Cheers!

Thoughts on the RSEQ/OUA crossover exhibitions

All of these observations come with the obvious caveats that it’s preseason, a lot of teams use this as an opportunity for backups to get playing time, these don’t mean much, etc, etc.

Montreal looked very sharp, Ottawa was outclassed. Montreal might be a Vanier favourite again this year.

Couldn’t tell if McGill was sharp, or if UofT was just bad. Toronto looked majorly outclassed. I would love to see UofT be competitive again but based on that performance, their tough schedule (and the fact that York seems to be on the upswing right now) they might go winless this year.

As a Queens fan, beating a perpetual #1 contender like Laval is exciting and hopefully a confidence boost. If Queens can beat Western this year after the last couple heartbreaking losses, I think they’ll have truly exorcised their demons.

Overall I was happy with the results. RSEQ fans talk about the conference like American fans talk about the SEC; like even the last place team in the conference on any given year would go undefeated in any other conference. I’ve long said that there is a lot more parity across the country than people realize.

I saw a lot of people on Instagram calling for national schedules. Good idea? And if so, how would that work? Teams could potentially schedule their 8 conference games and then have 2 wildcard games nationwide.

USports Football Season Preview Articles?

I've been trying to find season preview articles on USports football to no avail. Truthfully, the searches haven't been more than googling the subject of this post.

Anyone found any good articles, whether they be on specific teams, conferences, or the entire league?
