TLDR For Linux users familiar with installing Windows games outside of Steam. The Closers_downloader.exe file does not work with Proton at the time of writing. The Closers_Installer_PPY.exe file downloaded by the downloader does work with Proton. To play the game you can use GE-Proton 11-1 minimum or Proton-CachyOS-11.x minimum. The game has some minor issues with text input from what I know. You can't move the text cursor left or right, and you cannot select all text using Ctrl+A.

Requirements:

• Windows computer that has ran Closers_downloader.exe from Papaya Play
• ProtonPlus (or another Proton version manager) so that you have at least Proton GE11 or Proton CachyOS 11.x.
• Faugus (can use Lutris, but this tutorial will use Faugus)

Step 1 - Getting the Installer files:

Run Closers_downloader.exe from the Closers Papaya Play download page: https://closers.papayaplay.com/closers.do?tp=download on a Windows computer. This will download the installation files by default to your Desktop C:\Users\{username here without curly brackets}\Desktop\Papaya Play Games. Move this folder (preferably zip it as well to make it easier to move) to your Linux computer. It's a 30GB file.

Step 1 alternative:

Download the installer instead from my Proton Drive account. But I don't know how often I'll keep it updated. https://drive.proton.me/urls/AJB7YV9NVM#ldWONpAFlVuz

Step 2 - Check if you have an updated Proton:

Open up your Faugus settings by click on the gear icon.

Open up Faugus Launcher. Make sure it's using Proton-CachyOS or GE-Proton that is at least on version 11. You can acquire these through Proton Plus. Then right click on Closers_Installer_PPY.exe and open it with Faugus.

Step 3 - Running the installer:

Run the installer. Creating a desktop shortcut won't matter since this will be installed into a Wine prefix directory. A directory that follows the Windows default directories.

After the installation finishes, you could launch the game at this point, but Faugus doesn't know where the game is installed yet. (Note: On Lutris, if you launch the game at this point, Lutris will think the installation will have failed and you might have to install again, or just navigate to the prefix folder and set it up manually from there if it didn't delete the installation).

Step 4 - Setting the game up in Faugus:

Time to add Closers to Faugus. Click on the Plus icon to open up the New Game menu. Title it "Closers". Then for the Path, navigate to /home/{username without curly braces here}/Faugus/default/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Papaya Play/Closers/LAUNCHER.EXE. This is assuming Faugus installed the game into its default location,

Press Ok and now you can play Closers from Faugus.

Optional Step 5 - Setting the game up to launch in Steam:

In Steam, at the bottom left click on Add a Game, then click Add a Non-Steam Game... then click Browse. and add navigate to /home/{username without curly braces here}/Faugus/default/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Papaya Play/Closers. Then add LAUNCHER.EXE.

Search for Launcher.EXE in your Steam menu and right click it and open up its Properties. Here you can rename it to "Closers". The most important thing is to set its Compatibility to use GE-Proton 11 or Proton-Cachy11. And if you're a controller player you can set up Steam Input.

Ria, Triss, and Mois do not have this costume currently. Login for 10 days to receive the Urban Fighter Full Set Selectable Box.

It's only have been a few days of launch and nothing is set on stone yet but so far the game has been really fun and it's worth to give a shot even if you don't trust if it's going to last, HAVE FUN NOW!.

- The game feels way less laggy and more responsive than Naddics server. I don't know what they did but it has been a way better experience to play with high APM characters and also dodging.

-The initial rewards are tempting and pushes you forward way more than where Jumps used to put you. You get a full unique set instead of signature, fully tuned and chipped equipment. With these equipment you can solo all the non squad content very fast.

-Elite/Platinum is "weaker", which can be a good thing since its one less thing pressuring you to buy.

-Crew EXP is bugged and there are people botting. Botting is pretty much the poison to their progress reset plan, they already addressed this issue but we'll need to wait if they will actually do something. The reset actually made some whales come back since the old economy was utterly destroyed by botting.

i wish they also gave some extra level jumps without gear missions and free story pet boxes for room exploration to help get some of the progress back, but im enjoying the game more than what i used to.

Any J players have any insight in which awakening cubes i should use? Thank u in advance

Hi I am a returning player from way back then, and I quit even way before the prev global server EOS. So I recently redownloaded since they relaunched global and Im searching for really strong pve class for me to breeze through the story and pve contents to enjoy the game minus the pvp aspects. I used to play Bai in the past so now I'm wondering who is a strong character (preferably female) to pick up and I'm also curious if the latest character is strong to use

I'm curious if there are people who are interested in a guide on installing Papaya Play's Closers.

I got Closers working on a laptop running Bazzite and a Legion Go S (similar to a Steam Deck) running Steam OS.

The biggest hurdle from installing Closers is that Papaya Play's Closers_downloader exe doesn't work on Linux last I checked. The steps after do, which I recognized from installing Closers on other servers. So I just copied the downloaded files after running Closers_downloader exe on a Windows computer.

I could expand on steps if people are interested.

For context I've been testing Closers on Linux for quite some time, and there was one major annoyance that prevented Closers from being fully playable (it ran, but keyboard/controller input would break when interacting with typing).

On the final day of Closers Global under Naddic would be going EoS, Proton GE version 11 released. It was a major update and to my surprise, the issue was fixed. There's still a minor annoyance of not being able to move the typing cursor, and there could be more minor issues that I'm not aware of. I was testing Linux with the Closers JP server while Closers Global had disappeared.

With the release of PapayaPlay's Closers around the corner, I thought it would be cool if we shared the results of our individual character quizzes. Who did you get and will you play them, or a different character?

For me, I rolled Yoon Ria. I never played her much before, but I suppose this time around I'll finally do so. However, I cannot lie, the urge to be a Yuri main is strong within me!

Hello! My team is currently working on a private server project based on the CLOSERS KR client. Although we are still a long way from having something fully playable, I wanted to share some of the progress we have made after putting countless hours into the project.

Since Chinese is my native language, I have replaced much of the Korean text in the client with Chinese. Any text that has not yet been translated will continue to appear in Korean. Currently supported translations include items, skills, story content, quests, dialogue, and more.

We have also modified the game's fonts so that Chinese and Korean characters can be displayed simultaneously. Adding Japanese support would also be possible in the future. We have also implemented support for using these character sets in character names.

At the moment, we are mainly working on dungeons, combat, and related systems. Our first goal is to reproduce the gameplay experience of the official version as closely as possible. Once we have a solid foundation, we plan to build on it with QoL improvements and gameplay adjustments.

Trying to install through PapayaPlays. I keep getting this error message: An error occurred while trying to read the source file: the source file is corrupted.

Anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

Edit: It was my error. The closers downloader bugged out in downloading all of the required files to my pc, but it got far enough to allow me to start the actual installer. Needless to say, since step 1 didn't finish, step 2 couldn't as well. Uninstalling everything fixed it.

There's also a social media campaign associated with sharing the results of this test if you'd like on the official Discord. The reward is a chance for 30x Morta's Boutique Coupon which could help get some costume pieces or other things.

So I'm trying to move my old account items to a new account. In the process, I encountered this issue with trading system. Those 2 Tinas are mine, I'm using different pc for each account.

Is there any reason on why I can't trade items to another account? It always gives "No trades in progress" popup. I have also tried switching between characters to trade, but the results are same.

Any tips would be very helpful, cheers!

Looks like they plan to open up this fresh new server with the Isla Ritmo costumes. Their socials have been updated on X and Facebook. And the Isla Ritmo PV has been uploaded on the Youtube channel.

For those not in the old Closers Discord server, you may not know. This was announced a week ago, but I was hoping to see an official page to link to, before posting about it. Nothing yet. The announcement is currently in the new Discord server for Closers Global where the invite link was posted in the old Closers Global Discord. And after seeing how bot infested that server became after the shutdown announcement, I'm hesitant to post the Discord invite link. There are bots crawling Reddit. But here's a copy of the announcement.

My opinion: Anybody, including a publisher would prefer having the data carried over. Some circumstances must be getting in the way. Are the circumstances valid? We may never know.
