This bears remarkable similarity to the plot of Welcome to Night Vale episode 92: "If He Had Lived", although in that case it's President Kennedy who not only lives by avoiding his gruesome 1963 fate but goes above and beyond by continuing to be president forever and literally never dying. The story ends with he and Jackie, both still untouched by time, floating in the formless void of the heat death of the universe and wondering what they should do today.

I came here to mention this episode! It’s genuinely my favorite from the podcast. It’s pretty standalone, too. Even if you never listen to any other WtNV, I recommend this one.
