The part i was talking about was the "horrific devastation not seen till WW1".

Ok sure how about the France and Prussia that had a million dead within around a year? Half a million in Crimea? Guess all those don't count either?

I think it is pretty clear that the common you are replying to is speaking with specific reference to the examples given by the commenter prior to them, focusing on Wars within Europe during that period.

As I think I said elsewhere, I don't think that the Franco pressure war did generate a million dead within a year. They count obviously, but they are still the most notable of a series of relatively minor exemptions to the overall trend of great power peace, and notably came over half a century after the vienna settlement

Again, look it up instead of "i don't think so". 50 years is far less than 99. Having to make excuses and exemptions continues to point out how arbitrary your point is.
