Born too late to die for rich people, born too early die for rich people; born just in time to die for rich people.

As we should/s

born just in time to fight against rich people

With all due respect, you people the left have been screaming "Eat the Rich" for as long as you have been on God's green planet, but I have only seen two elites eaten so far, and that was in 1672.

If you want me to join y'all, put your money where your mouth is and go out and eat Donald Trump. Feast on his carcass on some Shaun of the Dead type shit.

23

u/Dooty_Shirker 2h ago

Dry heaved a little at the thought of trying to eat Trump. He's apparently so repulsive to be around. The stench alone makes people gag. You didn't think of the smell!

8

u/big-unemployment 2h ago

Alright, start with... uh... the Queen of Norway. She's rich, in the Epstein files and looks clean.

3

u/Milouch_ 2h ago

I ain't no american, so that ain't my job.

A lone terrorist attack does absolutely nothing either, nor would the conditions change if trump died today.

1672? You forget about revolutions i guess, 1917 was one such year, with more that followed, and that WILL follow.

People need to prepare on the side of theory, read, study, learn from the mistakes of those before us and take victory.

Without an actual movement, strategy and union all that will result is but a recreation of the current conditions.

America is the enemy of the world's workers, of the proletariat, it is the hardest mountain to topple, as the center of command of world imperialism(fascism too), it's not impossible to create a proletariat state without the fall of the us empire, but it would be subject to constant attacks, be it economic or actual war.

Also, I was referring to the Rampjaar in 1672, when the Dutch FUCKING ATE THEIR PRIME MINISTER AND HIS BROTHER because the former was incompetent

u/Evil_Jared 1h ago

Dude, that sat on his ass in Switzerland while everyone else did the heavy lifting, only to come back and grab power after the democratic government lost almost entire armed force because of a mutiny, and then made single party system that created one of the most brutal dictatorships in Europe? Yeah, sounds like he knew his shit!

u/MariusDelacriox 2h ago

It is sweet and proper to die for one's country.

u/Spiritual-Taste-5524 4h ago

At least my grandkids will fight wars over things that really matter, like water and food.

45

u/vi_sucks 4h ago

Hey, your kids might be able to grow up in a peaceful world, but no guarantees about your grandkids.

38

u/unmellowfellow 4h ago

There's always money for war. Not Education, Healthcare, Infrastructure, or Public Transit. War though, we got you covered.

8

u/Superb-Carpenter-520 3h ago

Historically the people who don't have money for war tend to get subjugated pretty quickly.

7

u/Goldiac 1h ago

See the key is to have money for war AND amenities

I’m sneaking stuff from my massive worldbuilding reference doc any way I can.

Later: "At least I can die in battle..."

Later still: "At least when I get ground into dust, the 3 minutes when I get rebuilt can feel a bit peaceful..."

u/big-unemployment 2h ago

Love the optimism, bud

42

u/Corvid187 4h ago

TBF the treaty of Vienna did secure 99 years of relative peace.

74

u/Commissar_Tarkin 4h ago

Ah yes, relative peace. Like the Franco-Prussian War. Or the Crimean War. Or the two wars for Schleswig-Holstein. Or the Austro-Prussian war. Or the wars of Italian unification. Or all the colonial wars the participants had...

u/Decoyx7 4h ago edited 35m ago

Extended wars between great powers.

The Napoleonic wars were as bloody and Armageddon-adjacent as the First Great War was.

These conflicts and wars in the interim that you list were of such small scale, they may hold barely a candle to the utter devestation that was witnessed between the Human Lawnmower wars that saw the beginning and the end of the 19th century.

EDIT: Yeah, I recognize it is an entirely Eurocentric, and also ultimately contradicting perspective. The 19th century was definitely wild times.

1864.The devastation of the Taiping Rebellion was so great that certain Chinese provinces did not recover from the damage until well into the 20th century. It is believed that 20–30 million Chinese soldiers and civilians died during the war.

1

u/Corvid187 2h ago

I don't think that those fighting for a more peaceful future for their children in the Napoleonic Wars included many Chinese people though

-1

u/Ebony_Phoenix 2h ago

And? Are Chinese people not people now? Only European wars count now?

2

u/Corvid187 2h ago

The Chinese are people, they just aren't people who participated in the Napoleonic Wars and therefore weren't fighting in them with the hope that the settlement from the conflict would produce a more peaceful future for their children, which is the point of the comic.

0

u/Ebony_Phoenix 2h ago

And what does that has to do with my statement and the one I was commenting on how again? Re read my comment AND the one I was responding to.

0

u/Corvid187 1h ago

The comment you were replying to was talking about extended conflicts between great powers. The Taiping rebellion doesn't fall into that catagory, even if we generously assume 'great powers' doesn't mean the European great powers who actually fought the Napoleonic war.

1

u/Ebony_Phoenix 1h ago

The part i was talking about was the "horrific devastation not seen till WW1".

Ok sure how about the France and Prussia that had a million dead within around a year? Half a million in Crimea? Guess all those don't count either?

24

u/Ebony_Phoenix 4h ago

Or the wars not involving Europe.

4

u/ProbablySlacking 3h ago

There’s a big difference between small conflicts and conflicts between great powers.

The Vietnam war was terrible, but was it worse than world war 2?

1

u/Ebony_Phoenix 2h ago

Or you know, any war involving China. Like a rebellion caused by a dude thinking hes Jesus's cousin killed more people than all of the Napoleonic wars.

2

u/Corvid187 2h ago

All of which were tiny compared to the Napoleonic era in terms of their devastation and most of which came in the latter half of the century.

The Napoleonic settlement did create a sustained period of greater peace for the descendents of the participants.

1

u/Ebony_Phoenix 2h ago

Franco-Prussian war has around a million dead, that's a 3rd to 6th of all the Napoleonic wars. If Prussia didn't kick Frances so hard if would've been much worse, to say its "tiny" is an insult to the people involved.

1

u/Corvid187 1h ago

To my knowledge the Franco-prussian war has nowhere close to a million dead. Military deaths are estimated to sit around 160,000-200,000, and even if you lump in all the civilian deaths and deaths from incidental harms like epidemic illness, it barely cracks 500,000.

1

u/Ebony_Phoenix 1h ago

That still wouldn't be tiny. Also, just look it up.

6

u/PipsqueakPilot 3h ago

Seems more like European cultures fight a truly horrific war every century or two and then says, "Alright let's not do that again." Until the generational memory fades and suddenly they're right back to it.

The 30 Years War bought a century and a half of 'peace'. The Napoelonic wars bought a century. The world wars seem to have convinced most of Europe to swear off great power wars for the time being. But give it another half century and they'll be back at it.

2

u/Corvid187 2h ago

To be fair I think it is not just that people forget about war, but that time naturally causes the balance of power encapsulated by the settlement established at the end of the previous conflict to slowly stray over time.

Conflicts arise from a combination of divergent perspectives and bargaining frictions, and both of those progressively accrue the further away one gets from the resolution of the previous conflict. In some cases like Britain incentive structures always favoured maintaining peace and the existing settlement rather than proactively seeking great power conflict, but in most cases great powers were willing to resort to force of arms earlier in the century, they just lacked the capacity to win by doing so.

Prussia in 1816 was unquestionably the least of the great powers at Vienna, and the settlement there reflected that status. By 1870 it is clearly at least among the first rank of the continental great powers, and the immediate post Vienna settlement no longer accurately reflects what they can expect to gain through war. This leads to the Wars of German unifocation and the Franco Prussian war, which establishes a new equilibrium, but the problem is the gains that Prussia has made through that equitable room then allow for further growth, such that the balance of power tipped further in its favour, leading it to raises demands again by 1914.

Prussia was willing to threaten War all the way back in 1816 to try and improve its bargaining position at Vienna, but it was forced to back down because it lacked the coercive power to improve its settlement in the face of resistance from Austria Britain and France. What changed was less their moral willingness to fight, and more their capacity to win.

I love the subtle change of the flag from a feudal era banner to a futuristic hologram whilst the logo evolves:)!

War never changes and that’s a very sad thing.

u/FacsistGrammarian Pros & Conscription 1h ago

Will probably post a character sheet lineup sometime soon

3

u/Axel-Adams 2h ago

Ok but there are many generations who didn’t go through major conflicts/wars/conscriptions due to periods of peace following major conflicts?

5

u/qwadrat1k 4h ago

I know that I will contribute to demographical crysis, but I hope to never have to wear that uniform

5

u/1nGirum1musNocte 3h ago

It's weird how folks are more concerned about some nebulous "demographic crisis" thats 50 years away than a very real climate crisis that we are facing now and is made worse by every additional human put on the planet

4

u/qwadrat1k 3h ago

I am worried, because I live in a country with already shit demographic situation. My life leaves pretty much minimal carbon footprint, because I already use reusable shit, ride on public transport.

All other problems are beyond my reach

1

u/Winter-Hedgehog8969 3h ago

It's because the billionaires who own most major media outlets want everyone to be worried about the one and not the other

1

u/dumnezero Art enjoyer 1h ago

There is no crisis, we have over 8 billion humans. The economic crisis is not on you, the growth ponzi-model is insane, you can't fix it by shooting uterus canons at it.

1

u/qwadrat1k 1h ago

There are 8 billion people, but native population of my country is shrinking. There are at least 2 or 3 reasons for that: war, economic situation, quality of life

War is obvious

Economic: 32 USD for 3 months of metro rides

QoL: internet limitations, general stress. A lot of shit

I have no problem with Africa and Indians, but I know that my country has problem and I know that I will not even try to help solve it in any way

1

u/dumnezero Art enjoyer 1h ago

treating it as a competition will not work out well.

Stop having kids = no one left to fight stupid wars.

3

u/big-unemployment 2h ago

Also no more humans. Not a good thing.

0

u/TheGreyman787 1h ago

Also no more humans.

And what about the downsides?

Fractious Furry Factions.

2

u/Impressive-Hold7812 2h ago

Jokes on GWOT furry; he's gonna end up marrying a gal with kids already that are going to emulate him, and blunder into the service in their own way.

1

u/TheLastCoagulant 2h ago

Nobody was thinking that before WW1.

1

u/RevolutionaryTalk278 1h ago

I think a lot of people are going this way.

u/Scary_Cartoonist7055 12m ago

To be fair most of those did lead to a Pax of some sorts.

-1

u/Gammelpreiss 4h ago

yeah no.

the world is brutal, chaotic and tends to solve issues with violence.

that is the baseline of evolution and life for well..forever.

and humanity has done a fuck ton to improve the situation, former generations again and again gave their blood to improve conditions because they knew the alternatives first hand.

it is only this generation that does so well, is so well fed, has most luxuries ppl in former times could only dream of that they rather immerse themselves in nihilism then actually go out and fight the good fight, which always was and always will be nessecary

5

u/Nimhtom 2h ago

I cant imagine a time when starting a war was necessary for improving conditions, fighting a war on the other hand.

u/SirBananaOrngeCumber 44m ago

If you wanna be technical Palestine “started” the current war in Israel, in order to improve their conditions cause Israel was being evil and oppressive. There absolutely is times when starting a war is necessary to improve conditions
