Question/Help/Troubleshooting Remotely accessing desktop.

Long story short, I will need a new laptop for my engineering studies (Mainly machine learning).
The thing is, I have a relatively strong desktop at home (AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RTX 5070Ti etc).
I am wondering whether I should buy a gaming laptop with a dedicated GPU or simply go for something like an Ultrabook and remotely access my desktop by apps like Parsec or such. Is the latter option even practical ? Appreciate your help

Easiest setup is tailscale vpn and TightVNC.

If your connection is solid you can do what I do which is set up a VPN on my router and use moonlight/sunshine for streaming instead of using an outside hosted app

maybe try the apps on your phone or something first to gage how the lag will be off network

parsec is ok, has nice interface, but your probably better off with apollo-artemis / sunshine-moonlight

I do the same almoat the same as toxsec. Vpn (Tailscale), sunshine, moonlight. Ran some end game path of exile 2 maps with my phone and a controller overlay with moonlight yesterday. Phone was using 5g cell.

Easiest is just to use parsec

Or tailscale and RDP or vnc software or just standard windows rdp
