Do you think it looks like an improvement? Does it look natural and balanced? Anything you particularly like or think could have been done differently?
Please be honest — I can take it 😅
Used to think filler always looked fake and was lowkey judging people who got it lol. Then i actually sat down and looked into it properly instead of just scrolling through horror stories and my whole opinion flipped.
What changed my mind:
The bad results you see everywhere are almost always from too much product or a bad injector, not from filler itself. Done conservatively it looks nothing like the stuff that goes viral.
HA filler can be dissolved if you hate it or something goes wrong. Genuinely had no idea and it makes the whole thing way less scary tbh.
The sketchy outcomes are almost always from unqualified people using unregulated products. Going to someone properly licensed using legit approved stuff is a whole different thing.
Anyway just sharing because i wasted a lot of time being against something i didn't actually understand. Do your homework, find someone good, start small. That's honestly all there is to it.
Day four post nose filler ( done August 28). My injector told me it’s good to go basically just a bruise? Idk I’m nervous that this redness has not improved.
I am needing advice on whether I should do an arm lift or settle for arm lipo. I am currently scheduled to have a BBL, lipo, ETT, arm lipo and thigh lipo. But now I’m debating what I actually want to prioritize. I’m thinking either give up the BBL and do an arm lift instead of the arm lipo, or keep the BBL and do the arm lipo for now but go back once I’m healed to have the arm lift. But I also what my boobs done… My surgeon will only combo two surgeries at a time but she won’t do the arm lift + breast lift together. Any and all advice/suggestions are welcome.
If you're interested in beauty and culture, please consider taking my survey and rank the nose shape you find the most aesthetically pleasing!
This survey aims to better understand the intersection of ethnicity and nationality in rhinoplasty aesthetic preferences. Anyone 18 years or older may participate. Participation involves completing an electronic survey that takes about 10 minutes. The survey is anonymous so no identifying information will be collected from you. It is also voluntary and you may stop taking it at any time. Your input will help researchers improve the understanding of aesthetic ideals for rhinoplasties to better navigate managing patient expectations and goals while maintaining nasal integrity.
This is a permanent lip augmentation procedure. A dermal graft can be taken from the thighs or deeper layers of the skin. This graft is then surgically positioned on the lip lining (under the mucosa) so as to achieve plumpness. Notice how the lips retain their natural texture and lines, like natural lip lines should. (this is not a fat transfer, it's actual skin, muscle and fat). Think of it as an implant from your own body.
Filler lips
Filler stretches the skin, making the skin taut and unnatural. Not to mention, you have to repeat them if metabolize them fast and risks migration. This is a really underrated procedure far superior to fillers.
Initially, I felt so overwhelmed researching different plastic surgery clinics in Seoul but ultimately came to NANA hospital and am so glad I did!! I found Dr Choi Hyeokjun through a friend of mine who also went to him for their double eyelid procedure. NANA was able to address all my plastic surgery and dermatology interests through double eyelid ptosis correction, Rejuran eye, full face fat grafting, and PRP, along with CO2 body mole removal. Considering they’re both a plastic surgery and dermatology clinic, I liked how convenient it was to get everything I needed with one clinic rather than having to find multiple places during my stay abroad.
Lina was extremely helpful as my consultant and I really appreciated how I was paired with her for patient interaction from start to finish. I was really scared that my case would be lost in communications due to the various staff involvements and moving pieces of my treatment, but she ensured everything was streamlined and stress free!
First off, the facility is top tier—a beautiful building located right next to the subway station. But more than that, the staff and Doctor Choi truly made my experience. As it was my first time ever getting plastic surgery, let alone in a different country, Dr Choi was super amazing not only in the technical things but also consoling me about the post-op symptoms I should expect. Judy was my translator/coordinator and we clicked instantly (We’re actually alum from the same school which def made me feel at home!) When I was anxious in the operating room, she was able to support and advocate for my needs to the nurses and other staff like no other. I’m extremely grateful to have her as my coordinator! Lisa and Lee DeongJun from the marketing team interviewed me and also helped translate/assist when Judy was unavailable which I really appreciated!
I also used their post-op facilities for the hyperbaric oxygen chamber and healite treatment to help speed up the healing process, both of which were amazing comfortable experiences with top notch equipment. I’m now 1 week post operation and am super excited to see the final look as I heal in the coming months!
Hello, this is Dr. Park Seong-Hoon from AB Plastic Surgery.
Have you ever felt that your nose looks somewhat blunt despite having a sufficiently high nasal bridge, or that your side profile looks awkward even though there is no obvious problem?
This is often related to the shape of the columella and the nasolabial angle. The overall impression of the nose can vary significantly depending on how naturally these two structures are refined.
The increasingly preferred “refined nasal profile” also depends greatly on the design of the columella and nasolabial angle.
What Are the Columella and Nasolabial Angle?
When planning rhinoplasty, two structures that should always be considered together are the columella and the nasolabial angle.
The columella is the central structure located between the nostrils and serves as an important structural support for the nose.
The appearance of the nose can change depending on whether the columella is retracted or protruding. When appropriately refined, it can create a more balanced nasal tip and a smoother nasal profile.
The nasolabial angle is the angle formed between the columella and the upper lip. The impression created by the profile and the overall three dimensional appearance of the face can vary depending on this angle.
Correcting the nasolabial angle is a key step in creating a refined profile that flows naturally from the nose to the lips.
What Is Columellar Line Rhinoplasty?
Columellar line rhinoplasty does not simply aim to increase the height of the nasal bridge. Instead, it focuses on improving the structural support of the nose.
A columellar strut placed beneath the columella is commonly used to create a natural connection from the nasal tip to the philtrum.
When the columella is appropriately positioned through this process, a more balanced appearance can be achieved from both the frontal and lateral views, which may also improve overall satisfaction with the rhinoplasty result.
This approach is particularly suitable for patients with a retracted columella, a flat nasal tip, or a wide nasolabial angle.
How Does AB Design the Columellar Line?
At AB, we first consider the shape and position of the columella, which can influence the overall appearance of the nose.
If the columella that supports the nasal tip is too short or recessed, the nose may appear relatively long or flat.
For this reason, rhinoplasty should be planned with a design tailored to the individual nasal structure rather than simply focusing on increasing nasal bridge height.
In patients with a retracted columella, a columellar strut can be used to adjust the degree of nostril exposure while improving the relationship between the nasal tip and the upper lip, creating a more refined columellar line.
AB’s Rounded Columellar Line Design
The columella is not simply designed as a straight line. It should be planned in harmony with the overall facial contours.
The goal is to create a naturally curved line when viewed from the front while maintaining a three dimensional contour from the side.
To achieve this, the skin thickness, soft tissue, nasal tip support structure, and facial proportions are comprehensively analyzed before applying a surgical design tailored to the individual.
✅ Rounded columellar line: For those who prefer a softer, more natural appearance
✅ Smooth and refined shape: To create a more sophisticated appearance without looking overly sharp
A precise design that considers both anatomical structure and aesthetic needs is essential to achieving a refined rhinoplasty result.
How Does Nasolabial Angle Correction Complete the Profile? What Is the Key Point of Rhinoplasty?
Even if the shape of the nasal tip is aesthetically pleasing, a protruding mouth or an awkward looking lower face may indicate that the nasolabial angle should also be evaluated. The nasolabial angle is an important factor in determining the overall impression of the facial profile, and correcting it can help create a more natural and refined side profile.
The commonly cited reference ranges for the nasolabial angle are:
Women: 95° to 105° / Men: 90° to 95°
However, these numbers should not be regarded as absolute standards.
The appropriate angle varies depending on the individual’s philtrum length, lip protrusion, and overall facial proportions.
Therefore, rather than simply adjusting the nasolabial angle to a specific numerical value, it is important to refine it naturally according to the proportions of the individual face.
In particular, when the nasolabial angle is narrow, the nasal tip may appear droopy or the mouth may appear more protrusive.
At this time, simply elevating the nasal tip is not enough. The nasal base must also be considered to create a more natural improvement.
The Quality of a Rhinoplasty Result Ultimately Lies in the Details
During consultations, many patients ask about the height of the nasal bridge or the shape of the nasal tip. However, the factors that determine the actual result include the balance between the columellar line and the nasolabial angle.
Even with an aesthetically pleasing nasal tip, the overall impression can look awkward if the philtrum appears excessively long. Conversely, when the columellar line and nasolabial angle are refined according to the individual facial structure, a sophisticated yet natural change can be achieved.
Rhinoplasty is not simply a procedure that changes the shape of the nose. It is a process of creating balance across the entire face.
As we age, the forehead and eyebrows gradually descend, which can make the upper eyelids appear heavier and the eyes look tired or less open. As the forehead muscles lose elasticity and the skin becomes lax, people may also develop a habit of unconsciously lifting their eyebrows.
These changes can make the eyes look smaller and create a heavier or more fatigued expression. For this reason, many patients consider forehead lift surgery to achieve a more fundamental improvement.
Recently, endoscopic forehead lift surgery has gained attention as a safe and natural lifting method that minimizes the size of incisions and may allow for a relatively shorter recovery period.
Q. What is an endoscopic forehead lift?
An endoscopic forehead lift is a surgical procedure in which small incisions are made inside the hairline, an endoscope is used to safely release the tissues, and the descended forehead and eyebrows are lifted and fixed in a higher position.
Because only small incisions are required, scarring can be minimized and recovery is generally faster.
With the aid of an endoscope, the surgeon can directly visualize the tissues and safely separate the forehead structures. This allows the surgeon to confirm whether the forehead and eyebrows are being lifted evenly and whether the overall facial expression remains balanced.
In addition, patients with a short distance between the eyebrows and eyes, or those with naturally straight eyebrows that create a strong or stern appearance, may have limitations in achieving a satisfactory result with double eyelid surgery alone.
In such cases, an endoscopic forehead lift can serve as a fundamental solution by repositioning the forehead and eyebrow area.
When a descended forehead and eyebrows are lifted to a more appropriate position, the compressed space around the upper eyelids becomes more open, helping create a clearer and more natural eyelid line.
At the same time, the overall eye shape may appear more open and balanced, while asymmetry around the left and right eye areas can also be improved. Rather than simply creating a double eyelid crease, forehead lift surgery simultaneously repositions the forehead and eyebrows, allowing for a more natural eyelid line, improved symmetry, and better eye opening as part of a comprehensive improvement in the appearance of the eyes.
Q. Why is the fixation method important in endoscopic forehead lift surgery?
The key to endoscopic forehead lift surgery is not simply lifting the tissue, but how securely the lifted tissue is fixed and how well that fixation is maintained over time.
The appropriate fixation method can vary depending on factors such as skin thickness, skin elasticity, muscle movement, and the condition of the scalp. Selecting the correct method can influence both the completeness of the surgical result and how well the result is maintained.
If a fixation method that is not appropriate for the individual patient is used, the forehead may gradually descend again over time or the result may not be maintained for as long. For this reason, selecting the fixation method is just as important as the surgery itself.
AB Plastic Surgery performs both bone tunneling fixation and Endotine fixation, which are among the most commonly used fixation methods for endoscopic forehead lift surgery, allowing the surgical approach to be tailored to each individual patient.
Q. How is Endotine fixation performed in forehead lift surgery, and what are its characteristics?
During an Endotine forehead lift, the descended forehead tissues are safely released with the assistance of an endoscope. A fixation device called Endotine is then inserted to secure the forehead in its lifted position.
AB Plastic Surgery uses genuine Endotine devices and has been designated as a specialized medical institution using authentic Endotine products. Endotine is made from a bioabsorbable material that is gradually absorbed naturally by the body over time.
Characteristics of Endotine Forehead Lift
✅ Provides strong fixation over a broad area, helping prevent the forehead from descending again
✅ Reduces the burden on the skin and fixation area and may help improve deeper wrinkles
✅ Gradually absorbed by the body over approximately one year while supporting a stable and long lasting lifting effect
✅ Particularly suitable for patients with thick scalp tissue or strong forehead muscle activity
Q. How is bone tunneling fixation performed in endoscopic forehead lift surgery, and what are its characteristics?
After making small incisions and safely releasing the forehead tissues using an endoscope, bone tunneling fixation secures the descended forehead tissues firmly using specialized medical sutures that are absorbable within the body.
The specialized medical sutures used for this technique are safe absorbable materials commonly used in surgery. When an endoscopic forehead lift is performed with bone tunneling fixation, there is no need to worry about a foreign body remaining permanently inside the body.
Characteristics of Bone Tunneling Forehead Lift
✅ Uses a bone based tunnel to securely anchor the sutures
✅ Lifts the forehead tissue from the descended brow area toward the medial eyebrow region, allowing adjustment of the position and angle of the eyebrows
✅ Does not require a separate fixation device
✅ Provides more detailed adjustment of the brow position and may help reduce discomfort related to foreign material
Q. Endoscopic Forehead Lift: Bone Tunneling vs Endotine. Which fixation method is more suitable for me?
The appropriate fixation method varies depending on skin thickness, skin elasticity, muscle movement, scalp condition, and other individual factors.
Endotine Forehead Lift May Be Recommended If:
✅ You want strong lifting and fixation
✅ You have deep wrinkles or significant forehead drooping
✅ Your scalp is thick
Bone Tunneling Forehead Lift May Be Recommended If:
✅ There is significant drooping around the inner eyebrow area
✅ The position of the eyebrows needs detailed adjustment
✅ Your scalp and forehead skin are relatively thin
Careful tissue release and fixation tailored to each patient are essential elements of safe and effective lifting surgery. Both fixation methods have established safety and effectiveness.
It is important to select the forehead lift fixation method that is most appropriate for the individual patient through consultation and evaluation with an experienced medical professional.
AB Plastic Surgery does more than simply lift descended forehead and eyebrow tissues. We perform customized endoscopic forehead lift surgery while considering the movement of the forehead muscles and the overall balance of the eyebrow line.
Every stage of the procedure, including the selection of fixation materials, the location of the incisions, endoscopic tissue release, and detailed fixation performed by experienced medical professionals, is planned as an integrated process to maximize natural and stable lifting results.
In some cases, double eyelid surgery or upper blepharoplasty may also be performed together with forehead lift surgery.
By comprehensively evaluating the forehead, eyebrows, and upper eyelids when planning surgery, a more natural result can be achieved without creating an artificial or overly operated appearance.
In particular, the fixation method and degree of tissue release may vary according to scalp thickness, skin elasticity, and the development of the forehead muscles. Therefore, an experienced specialist’s surgical technique and accurate diagnosis are important.
For this reason, if you are considering endoscopic forehead lift surgery, it is important to receive sufficient consultation regarding your desired eye and facial appearance and to undergo surgery at a medical institution capable of applying the most appropriate fixation method for your individual condition.
Through the before and after photographs shown above, we reviewed the results of endoscopic forehead lift surgery and the differences between bone tunneling and Endotine fixation methods.
The patient came to me because she felt that her face had gradually become heavier and more tired-looking with age. Her main concerns were the heaviness around her eyes, deepening wrinkles around the outer corners, under-eye bags, and the overall sagging of her mid and lower face. She also felt that her expression had started to look more stern than before, with deeper nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and less definition along the jawline.
We performed a Deep Plane Face Lift, Endoscopic Brow Lift (Forehead Lift), Lower Blepharoplasty, and Midface Lift, along with a small amount of microfat grafting to the upper eyelids.
A significant part of the aging around her eyes was actually related to the lowered position of her eyebrows rather than excess eyelid skin alone. By repositioning the brows with an endoscopic brow lift, the heaviness and sagging around the eyes improved, while the forehead also became smoother. Because she did not want her upper eyelids to look too full, only a small amount of fat was added to restore the hollow areas naturally.
The change under the eyes was also quite noticeable. The prominent under-eye bags and loose skin were addressed, while the descended cheek tissue was lifted at the same time. No additional fat grafting was performed in the front cheek area. Simply repositioning the descended tissue helped restore natural volume to the midface.
For the nasolabial folds and marionette lines, the Deep Plane approach allowed us to release the retaining ligaments and reposition the descended soft tissue. As the facial tissues were restored closer to their original position, the hollow appearance beneath the cheekbones and the less-defined jawline also became softer and more balanced.
The patient was very happy with the overall change and felt that she looked noticeably younger and more refreshed. She even mentioned that although she had not been able to dye her hair after surgery, her face itself still looked much younger than before.
Hi everyone! I’m Junyoung Kim, a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon practicing in Seoul.
I wanted to share a recent case involving a male patient in his 20s from the US who visited my clinic looking to enhance his lower face.
Patient Goal & Assessment:
He naturally had a slimmer, softer jawline structure. He wanted to shift toward a more defined, chiseled, and masculine jawline—a sharp look that’s currently very popular among male patients.
Why Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers?
While surgical options like customized jaw/chin implants exist for structural changes, we decided on HA dermal fillers for several key reasons:
1. Minimal Downtime & Non-Invasive: He was traveling from abroad, so minimal recovery time and instant results were crucial.
2. Reversibility & Safety: This is the biggest advantage of HA fillers. If a patient ever feels the result doesn't fit their face, it can be easily dissolved with hyaluronidase. It offers a low-risk, highly controllable approach.
My Treatment Approach & In-Procedure Consultation:
· Real-Time Mirror Checks: During the injection process, I always have the patient hold a mirror. We continuously pause to evaluate the volume, contour, and overall shape together.
· Collaborative Process: Patient satisfaction depends heavily on clear communication. Checking in step-by-step ensures we hit the exact look they want—neither under-filled nor over-done.
· Technique: I injected precise amounts along the mandibular line to create a strong, sharp vector, and enhanced the chin point to give it a slightly squarer, broader base rather than a pointed finish.
What do you guys think of the transformation? Feel free to drop any questions in the comments below about male facial contouring or dermal fillers!
⭐️** Review – Engage Clinic / Dr. Ryx: My Experience With a Nanofat Treatm**ent
I would like to share my experience with Engage Clinic and Dr. Ryx following a nanofat treatment.
Nanofat involves harvesting a patient’s own fat and then filtering and emulsifying it very thoroughly. The aim is to isolate and use the stem-cell-rich regenerative fraction of the fat. This is then reinjected to promote regeneration, without the intention of adding volume.
I did not make this decision lightly. I consulted several doctors and ultimately chose Dr. Ryx after three consultations. During those consultations, she did not show me any before-and-after photographs of previous nanofat treatments. However, she convinced me of her experience by saying:
“I perform nanofat treatment with every facelift I do.”
She also emphasized on at least three occasions that the treatment would not add any volume. Based on those clear assurances, I trusted her and decided to have the procedure performed at her clinic.
The day of the procedure
My appointment was scheduled for 4 p.m. When I arrived, I was informed that the surgeries were running two hours late. I live approximately twenty minutes away from the clinic, so the delay itself was not a major problem for me, but I believe I should have been notified.
At 6 p.m., I was once again sitting in an overcrowded waiting room because Dr. Ryx was also seeing consultation patients between surgeries.
In the operating room, an assistant began harvesting and processing the fat. During this process, Dr. Ryx briefly entered the room—not to supervise the processing, but to see whether she still had time to fit in another consultation.
Where I believe things went wrong
In my experience, the fat was not processed and broken down sufficiently. A professor of plastic surgery later explained to me that thoroughly emulsifying and breaking down the fat is an essential part of creating true nanofat.
During the procedure, I saw that the assistant did not know how to use the final filter. The fat had to be drawn up again because she was unfamiliar with how this filter worked. When Dr. Ryx returned to the room, she looked at it briefly and said:
“Yes, yes, that’s fine.”
The fat was then injected superficially, in the same way as a skin booster. This is appropriate when properly processed nanofat is being used. However, because fat particles remained in what was injected into my face, I now have visible and palpable lumps.
During a later conversation, I confronted Dr. Ryx with the fact that, according to the nanofat technique, the fat should repeatedly be emulsified through each filter—approximately forty times, according to the information I received. Her response was:
“All doctors just do this by gut feeling.”
Aftercare and communication
The day after the procedure, I contacted the clinic. Dr. Ryx was not there, and no effort was made to contact her or ask her to call me back.
I eventually managed to reach her myself through the hospital in Genk, where she was working at the time. I was told that what I was seeing and feeling was “completely normal.”
During the following week, I called the clinic at least six times. Often, nobody answered the phone. I eventually spoke to Joke, but I felt that my concerns were minimized again.
I found the follow-up consultation extremely unpleasant. I simply wanted to discuss calmly what might have gone wrong, but Dr. Ryx immediately appeared to feel attacked.
She claimed that she had processed the fat herself rather than the assistant, even though I had personally watched the assistant perform the processing.
Dr. Ryx also said that she could not feel any lumps of fat. However, while she was examining my face, I could literally feel the lumps moving away beneath her fingers.
I asked whether it would be possible to speak to the assistant and hear how she had experienced the procedure. This request was refused because Dr. Ryx said that she did not want to burden the assistant with it.
During that follow-up consultation, Dr. Ryx also did not want to take new photographs of my face, even though the lumps and resulting damage were clearly visible. As a result, I feel that the outcome was not properly documented.
I remained calm throughout the entire conversation, but I did not feel heard. In my experience, my concerns were once again minimized.
Three months later, Joke called to ask how I was doing. I told her that the situation was still exactly the same. She said that there was no solution, but that I could still return to discuss it with the doctor.
I explained that I did not want to spend another long period in the waiting room when there was apparently no solution, especially after the way the previous consultation had gone. I made it clear that Dr. Ryx was always welcome to call me herself if she wanted to discuss anything further. That phone call never came.
Conclusion
My trust in Engage Clinic and Dr. Ryx has been seriously damaged—not only because of the way the fat was processed and the outcome I have been left with, but particularly because of the lack of supervision, communication, proper follow-up and accountability afterwards.
I still have visible and palpable lumps in my face, even though I was repeatedly assured beforehand that the treatment would not add any volume. Afterwards, I was told that there was no solution for the lumps.
I am sharing my personal experience to warn others and encourage anyone considering nanofat treatment to ask detailed questions beforehand. Ask to see before-and-after photographs, ask about the exact processing technique, who will process the fat, who will supervise the procedure and what the clinic will do if complications occur.
I don't know what to do anymore. I do the color corrector, concealer. Makeup is no help. I've been told fillers won't work. I am feeling hopeless at this point.
