To take the fun out of the joke:

I feel like the act of making something into a preservative is more antithical to Ruin, than just letting the cow live... Like it is constantly ruining as it lives, cells die, it gets older, it eats etc... But after you kill it, if you take actions to preserve it, is the whole act together net preservation?

Like I said, totally killing the joke, just technical discussions here.
