Its like if Kermit the frog and Swedish chef sung this as duet

16

u/Proper_Initiative123 15h ago

And Celine/Cher

10

u/Remy315 15h ago

And Shakira. Without the hip shaking of course.

5

u/thatsknotwrite 13h ago

Pfft. This is giving Alanis and Jewel. Get off my lawn!

Hips lied.

1

u/Remy315 7h ago

I have it in good authority that they usually don’t do that.

2

While shitting in unison.

It's so obvious this is someone they hired to do this. Like she can obviously sing.

I find it hard to believe someone who put in the time to hit notes as cleanly as she can is just randomly gonna drop into these weird lil flourishes for no reason...

28

u/wormy_Burroughs 14h ago

idk. it's highly likely that it is staged, but I've seen many a genuinely talented person think they're cooking while theyre doing the most weird, awkward, unnecessary shit.

tldr; talent doesn't equal good decision making skills sometimes lol

5

u/Papapep9 14h ago

When I used to play classical guitar a lot, I would hear my own playing so much, that I would keep over-interpretating, to the point where it wouldn't make sense in other people's ears.
I would love it myself, but it wouldn't sound good for others

4

u/Crimson3312 13h ago

I remember once I was preparing for an audition and my instructor gave me all sorts of advice on how I should "interpret" the piece and add my own embellishments, to "stand out".

I didn't get the gig and on my feed back they all cited the "unnecessary embellishments" as to why.

Some people just don't know what the hell they're doing

4

u/ImpressiveBag2423 13h ago

That one time fergie had sex with the national anthem.

1

u/EXinthenet 12h ago

Let's play some basketball!

2

u/AmbitionConscious572 14h ago

Have you heard Greta Thunberg's sister sing?

1

u/lasagnadogwater69 7h ago

She was hitting every note, just with the weird crunchy affectation. The performance in the video seems like she's trying super hard not to hit the notes.

4

u/jim45804 14h ago

It's amazing to me that people still think, after all these years, that "reality TV" is not scripted.

1

u/pythonidaae 12h ago

Yeah this is weird because she seems like she on a technical level is good, but the accents were terrible. So it is very unpleasant to listen to.

1

u/Waste_Space1415 12h ago

I don't know whether or not it's staged, but I've encountered similar uhhh.... "talents" before in person.

Some people believe they can turn their awful singing into a unique "style" that they can market. They hear eccentric acts like Yoko or Tiny Tim and think they can do the same without understanding that these acts are actually extremely niche.

1

u/Background_Essay_676 11h ago

Some of those notes were very difficult. I actually like it non ironically

1

u/Unlikely-Outside-784 11h ago

She's singing a song in a language she doesn't understand.

2

u/lasagnadogwater69 7h ago

I challenge you to put this to the test. My pronouncian of pata pata isn't perfect, but it damn sure doesn't affect the actual notes I'm supposed to be hitting. Like you could completely screw up every single word in a song, and still perfectly hit every note.

That's not what's happening here though. She is intentionally going out of key in the most ridiculous way she possibly can.

1

u/Next-Ad-1504 3h ago

I was literally about to type this, like she obviously sounds like a singer who’s pretending to not know how to sing

1

u/Telliot 3h ago

Right?! I was thinking it sounds like there's some real chops buried under these weird sounds.

34

u/Ordinary_Bear7543 15h ago

this is how shakira sounds to me

9

u/kasmackity 13h ago

I'm telling you, she sounds this way because she's literally trying to do a Shakira impression

3

u/Ordinary_Bear7543 13h ago

I figured but shakira objectively sounds bad to begin with is what I’m trying to say

4

u/ImBurningStar_IV 8h ago

to me

Objectively

Pick a lane man

1

u/Smboto 55m ago

I just listened to a shakira song. I thought; ā€œwhat the hell is this?ā€

2

u/Parking_Locksmith489 3h ago

Shakira sounds like a Swiss yodeler

2

u/Educational_Quote851 14h ago

Came here to say this. Same people talking sh!t about this lady will unironolically jam out to some Kermit th-oops, I mean Shakira. 🤭

But I CANNOT unhear the vocal roller coaster and it all goes into the bin.

1

u/Lowly-Worm_ 15h ago

I was just thinkin about that Vine lmao

1

u/HanaBakersBathWater 15h ago

I can’t unhear it now.

1

u/Im-BackAgain-Babes2 12h ago

Lol, for me it was Stevie nicks, the South Park version, haha šŸ˜…

2

u/Next-Street-7859 15h ago

Came here for the Hot Fuzz reference and you delivered šŸ™šŸ¼

1

u/LocalProgram1037 14h ago

Still can't believe that's the Hound.

37

u/BusyBit6542 15h ago

She actually has a beautiful voice. Shes just intentionally trying to sound bad for content. They purposely do this because is entertaining...as we can see because shes posted in this sub while the other hundreds of singers are not

7

u/pallentx 15h ago

I think she’s not a native English speaker and is copying vocal styles without knowing the words and just badly exaggerating. She does have a good voice in there somewhere.

9

u/RunOnCoffee 15h ago

Are you sure she's not just special needs?

16

u/Conscious-Move9662 15h ago

8

u/DripTrip747-V2 15h ago

How the hell do people make comments like this? Like do you just sit on these gifs, waiting for the perfect time to strike?

6

u/cschmall 15h ago

3

u/DripTrip747-V2 15h ago

But see, that gif is used a lot.

The Kanye one fits the conversation way too perfectly. Like it was implanted by the most steady handed reddit surgeon. And its one I've never seen.

2

u/feline_riches 15h ago

I've never seen it either, perfectly played

2

u/Joshua_ABBACAB_1312 14h ago

Yes. Redditors and their famous steady hands from decades of 'practice'.

https://giphy.com/gifs/14r8bmeEeHogiQ

1

u/BusyBit6542 15h ago

Lol I thought the same but you can search words or phrases. So reply to this comment with the gif button below but search "yeah right" in the gif search bar. Then just pick one

1

u/DripTrip747-V2 15h ago

Yea, but we all know Kanye is special needs and what it says just fits way too perfectly to be a random search. Like the OP just knew about it already and found the perfect comment to use it on.

I know how to comment gifts, but I've never had one just be so damn perfect it makes me wanna cry tears of joy. Maybe it's just me though...

I just like to think some people have mastered the art of gif's and have fulfilled their lives destiny.

1

u/Spare_Independence19 13h ago

It really is a talent few get right and many try.

2

u/DripTrip747-V2 13h ago

That's the best way to put it. And would explain why you typically see the same gif over and over again.

1

u/OneDimensionalChess 15h ago

Special needs and having a stroke?

2

u/questionmark0 15h ago

I have no idea what's going on, but I thought that maybe she didn't know English and was trying to sing phonetically.

1

u/Ok-Iron-4352 15h ago

I thought she was trolling but I think it's a language thing.

0

u/OneDimensionalChess 15h ago edited 13h ago

What evidence do you have that she's not taking herself seriously...she may just be trying to be unique? Some ppl really don't actually hear how fucked up they sound when they're singing.

3

u/HairyDust4826 15h ago

It wasn't me, that was Patricia

3

u/OrdinaryAccount479 15h ago

Sad that she has no friends. Because if she did have friends, they'd tell her how awful this is.

3

u/ArcadianDelSol Cringe Level 1 14h ago

So...

1) she doesnt speak English, so the lyrics are just her best phonetic impressions of them.

2) she's got very good pitch and a good sound, but someone told her all those forced voice alterations sounded good. Probably trying hard to be the new Alanis Morrisette instead of just showcasing the talent she has.

1

u/pandershrek 4h ago
  1. Definitely makes sense

1

u/WeltyFern 1h ago
  1. Speech Impediment

2

u/Lucky-Mia 15h ago

Reminds me of Cher.

1

u/koolaidismything 15h ago

That music video with her on the Navy ship she looks like a horror character.

2

u/South_Ad2397 15h ago

1

u/StinkMeister777 15h ago

Hey it's the song that pops up whenever I test search on Google to see if I have a connection

2

u/Aware-Secretary-6323 15h ago

Plot twist, they loved it and she went on to win

1

u/AGreatBannedName 15h ago

When Trent Reznor saw Johnny Cash’s cover of Hurt, he said ā€œthat song isn’t mine anymore.ā€

2

u/ISaidThatIsEnough 15h ago

Sounds like she’s trying to auto tune herself

2

u/NicheGuysFinish2nd 15h ago

Spot on...

And honestly she doesn't have a terrible voice. There's something there... But she has to pick one voice and just stick with that. It's more of a control issue than a pitch issue for me.

2

u/Round-Foundation2948 15h ago

Technically speaking, there will be no chandeliers to swing from if you continue to sing. šŸŽ¶

2

u/Ok_Necessary2991 15h ago

Sounds like she is trying to impersonate a singing style that's not authentic to her without realizing why it sounds terrible coming from her.

2

u/Crazy-Engineering-86 15h ago

When you’re hungover, vomiting and trying to speak to someone

2

u/jillvalenti3 15h ago

Shakira, Porky Pig, Stitch, Kermit; wow! She really can do it all!

1

u/npcompletist 15h ago

You forgot Swedish Chef.

2

u/GlassJawJawa 15h ago

Kermit wants to come out so badly

2

u/BrickHuge3023 12h ago

Disturbing to hear.

2

u/Bass-n-Bonefish 12h ago

Dang even Andrew Tate wasn’t having it

2

u/Haifisch2112 12h ago

When I turned this up to hear it, my dog was laying on the floor sleeping. She heard the song, looked up at me with sad eyes, got up, and walked slowly out of the room like she'd just gotten yelled at for digging through the garbage.

2

u/stonerking666420 9h ago

Someone use the old Shepard crook to pull her off stage like they used to do back in the old days she can't sing worth a damn

1

u/giddeyaboutdort 15h ago

Shakira mixed with Lady Gaga mixed with Whitney Houston mixed with Carly Rae Jepson mixed with Kermit the Frog

1

u/Fair_Junket_1877 15h ago

Whitney Houston is a stretch šŸ™‚ā€ā†”ļø

1

u/Bumbymoo 15h ago

I like it.

1

u/ckuhn84 15h ago

I got goosebumps

1

u/Muted-Environment421 15h ago

REHeeerršŸ˜‚ like others said she clearly has an amazing voice. This was for content. I’m actually more impressed she could manipulate her mouth to make those sounds tbh.

1

u/EnsignMJS 15h ago

Language barrier? I can't sing in my native language, English. I wouldn't be able to sing in any other language.

1

u/Round-Foundation2948 15h ago

I see a wedding ring therefore there’s someone enabling the singing

1

u/S7arForGD 15h ago

She has a voice but can't sing to save her life

https://giphy.com/gifs/dB12mOQb99BwDlM83I

1

u/SOLID_STATE_DlCK 15h ago

Move your body. Cmon move your body.

1

u/Naive-Ad-732 15h ago

"All the voices in her head started singing at once" and then listening. SUPER FUNNY

1

u/Only_Tip9560 15h ago

It is like someone heard Anastasia being played on a poor quality Bluetooth speaker through a wet sock and decided to reproduce the effect.

1

u/melack857 15h ago

Was that andrew taint at the end?

1

u/financial-boss907 15h ago

Isn't she a tiktoker?

1

u/JButler_16 15h ago

This is actually some pretty incredible voice control.

1

u/Thick_Cookie_7838 14h ago

She actually probably has a really good voice with some training and not trying to screw around mixing her voices around she probably gets a yes

1

u/Outofmana1 15h ago

This is how I sound when I shower

1

u/Normal_Sweet_2974 14h ago

Voice snit bad

1

u/Normal_Sweet_2974 14h ago

Lol.one judge trying not to slap her face

1

u/Joshua_ABBACAB_1312 14h ago

This was me, confident and drunk, thinking I could sing Open Arms at karaoke.

1

u/Alarmed_Jacket_2639 14h ago

aaaand she’s still better than me.

1

u/Spiritual-Cherry8466 14h ago

I can hear what she’s trying to do… Unfortunately

1

u/DavidChristianKaiser 14h ago

Ai öhm gomma swöööng from the Schändelehüü

1

u/Iliketurqouise 14h ago

She's ringing my drrbrr! 🤣

1

u/ExtensionInformal911 13h ago

She learned to sing from a worn out tape in a Walkman with half dead batteries.

1

u/Mental_Goal2380 13h ago

honestly she does a solid sia impression xD

1

u/Valuable-Morning-346 13h ago

She doesn't sound like a bad singer though. She's just using too many special effects.

1

u/SaulTNNutz 13h ago

This shit is so staged. Come on, people

1

u/chemnerd2017 13h ago

She has an exceptional talent, if she can resolve and separate all of her different voices. Unless this is a bit, because it’s really close to being comedy.

1

u/AlkaliMemo 12h ago

Might sound good backwards 🤷

1

u/frimpkle 12h ago

Is that Dave bautista?

1

u/Dodmeister5000 12h ago

Which language was that, then? šŸ¤”

1

u/EasyStorm8289 11h ago

It's pretty obvious she can sing and this is an act she's putting on.

1

u/ZEROs0000 11h ago

She actually has a voice on her if she didn’t try to whatever it is she’s doing

1

u/Lily_fool 11h ago

From the ✨chande-lihhh✨ šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

1

u/CamptoRibbit 11h ago

I have never heard anyone that can and cannot sing at the same time before.

I am genuinely shocked

1

u/burritopup 10h ago

I've never seen something crash and burn so beautifully . The decision to become unique without the insight to make it stylistically appealing can create gems.

1

u/MsOmgNoWai 10h ago

but why did they let her sing for so long?

would no one have mercy?

1

u/-_-_-_-_--__-__-__- 10h ago

That's what sound like when I try to speak Dutch. "Keukenhof"

1

u/Key_Strawberry_381 9h ago

She should stick to modeling.

1

u/TheRuckyDubber 8h ago

That’s 3 and a half seconds I’ll never get back

1

This happens if you raise kids like they are spoiled gods , they start to think and act in pure grades of retard.

1

u/JavlaFuck 4h ago

Yeah shes got some PIPES and skill, this is prolly staged or a bet or something.

1

u/BTZ-25 4h ago

The demons are coming out.

1

u/Educational_Put_6262 4h ago

That takes skill actuallyĀ

1

u/Direct-Resolution377 4h ago

We are not ready for pure alien vibes yet it seemsĀ

1

u/ImposterSteve 3h ago

She kinda sounds like Kristen Wiig.

1

u/SirLockeX3 3h ago

She's doing vocal warm ups, she'll start singing after.

1

u/Saucy-Mustard 3h ago

Lrr sherr shillerup droink from the chandelrr

There’s a good voice in there somewhere

1

u/oo7changa1 1h ago

Isnt this that mumble rapper with blue hair?

1

u/Jujubi836 1h ago

Shakira dat you?

1

u/Cromagnumman6174 15h ago edited 14h ago

People who go on and do this suck and take away from other talents that could've performed in their place.

Edit: someone wanted me to put that I was corrected. Im open to learning some other things about what goes on in the tv production side of these shows.

0

u/RobataChane72 15h ago

So naive.

1

u/Cromagnumman6174 15h ago

Ok. Its still an opinion and yours means nothing to me. Good talk tho šŸ‘Œ

1

u/RobataChane72 15h ago

It's actually not an opinion you stated a fact that is objectively false. Read the other comments for clues. Context: I've worked in TV production for over thirty years and I know more about this than you.

0

u/Cromagnumman6174 15h ago

Again, cool story and good talk šŸ‘Œ congrats? I dont work in tv production. I work with firearms and I doubt you know as much as me in that subject. So you would be naive to me regarding them.

1

u/RobataChane72 15h ago

We're not talking about firearms though. We're taking about a TV show. Weird flex.

1

u/Cromagnumman6174 15h ago

Sorry you couldnt put two and two together in the comparison I was making. Idk know why you would think I would know more than you in a field I dont work in or have any associations with. I dont know why you had to single out my comment instead of scroll by. Did it really bother you that much? Would it help to ease your annoyance if I put an IMO in front of my original comment?

1

u/Reoplaw 14h ago

well you've been corrected so you shouldn't hold that opinion anymore, but if we need to make it even more clear, what the guy was trying to say is that these shows are usually predetermined and the people there are usually given instructions on what to do or preform aka. it's staged.

so either delete your main comment beacuse quite frankly it was uneducated take or just put little edit saying you've been corrected otherwise more people will try to correct you.

1

u/Cromagnumman6174 14h ago

Meh, im okay with that. I'm gonne leave it up even tho my original comment may not be correct. Dude was being a dick for no real meaningful reason. He wasnt originally trying to educate me. Just put me down. He could've scrolled past. But maybe I'll learn some more things by leaving the comment up so Im not so naive in the future. If it actually gets to me I can turn the notifications off. I dont really concern myself with the reddit up votes and down votes anyways bc they dont mean anything outside of reddit.

1

u/Cromagnumman6174 14h ago

I edited the comment for you to ease your concern.

0

u/Common-Respond2367 15h ago

It apparently meant enough to merit a response from you

0

u/Cromagnumman6174 15h ago

Just bc someone's opinion doesn't mean anything to me doesn't mean I can't reply back. They arent mutually congruent

0

u/Common-Respond2367 15h ago

You are literally spending a portion of life that you won’t get back responding to people you ā€œdon’t care aboutā€ by telling them you ā€œdon’t care about themā€ lol i can’t imagine a bigger waste of time

→ More replies (3)
