FORAYS? Nice clue, but I think it may need some sort of homophone indicator unless I’m missing something?

I like it; the only problem is that there should be an indicator for “Aaaa”, but I’m not sure what kind.

Really good and fine by itself I think, a lot of lateral thinking required but no extra clueing necessary, the exclamation point is a sufficient indicator
