Question ❔ CRV Program Key Fob

Hey everyone!

I have a 2012 Honda CRV, but I lost the remote unlock fob for it. I have the remote start fob, though. Does anyone know if there is a software or way to buy a generic unlock fob online and program it for the car? Does it get complicated if I have a model with the built in remote starter stuff? Thank you in advance for any advice!!

I have a '19 with remote start on the fob. I bought off eBay a generic remote with the same button layout. A local locksmith cut the key and programmed the remote. Works exactly as intended. In fact, the generic remote is the one I use daily.
