Discussion If cheating is the problem, why faceit active player count does not increase?

Post image

Why only 30k players increase in faceit? 30k increase out of 1mln players is like nothing, either there is no cheating and everyone is fine with Premier status or real player count is like 400k max

You live in a bubble. You think majority of people know what face it is or care enough about it. I dont play faceit because its an extra hassle for my few games i play.

-12

u/Miserable-Offer-399 11h ago

The only bubble we live in is player count, only 400k people play this game right now, not 1mln, 600k are bots

9

u/LowOutlandishness435 11h ago

Can you site a source for that or are you just pulling that out of your ass?

-1

u/Miserable-Offer-399 10h ago

2

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

This site is not reputable my dude

2

u/LowOutlandishness435 9h ago

Nowhere does it say that there is 600k bots playing CS. are you this dumb?

3

u/PhantomX8 10h ago

400 k is still alot. I bet you are one of the people that scream the game is dead when less people are playing.

0

u/Miserable-Offer-399 10h ago

400k is still a lot but we should be honest about numbers, in steamcharts it's showing 1mln players right now. It's huge difference

2

u/Historical-Break-603 11h ago

, only 400k

Even if you right, thats still is insanely huge number, even 400k puts it on to second place by player count in steam

1

u/Zoddom 10h ago

But in that range, the 30k Faceit would sound plausible. but what /u/Miserable-Offer-399 is forgetting is: the cheaters obviously dont want to play Faceit. I say 400k are bots, 200k are cheaters and other 400k is normal legit players.

3

u/Historical-Break-603 10h ago edited 10h ago

200k cheaters/400k legit is insanely overblown proportion, that means that on average game has atleast 3 cheaters, if you think that every game at 10k rating ( median rating) has a cheater you unironically delusional.

0

u/Zoddom 10h ago

Sometimes it feels like its 50/50 lately, ngl

21

u/TheeFiction 11h ago

Because the majority of the player base doesn't want to use a third party matchmaking system despite how reddit tells you everyone is

22

u/CriticalCreativity 11h ago
  1. The cheating problem mostly (but not exclusively) affects higher-skill players, which are a comparatively small segment of the playerbase

  2. Most players don't want to bother with the hassle of setting up Faceit and its anticheat

  3. Faceit has its own problems with toxicity & smurfing. Some players like a more relaxed experience

4

u/Professional_Bend_14 11h ago

People play premier just for the weekly drop, just like me, I did try faceit theres no xp to get there, boring as hell.

15

u/anon0123455 11h ago

people read they gotta turn on secure boot and don’t know what that means and they give up

1

u/No_Photograph7969 8h ago

litmus test.

0

u/WhirledNews 10h ago

No, people don’t want to have to pay for and install third party software to run a game.

3

u/shaoOOlin 10h ago

What are u even talking about. U do realise faceit is free but it also has subscribtions?

2

u/anon0123455 10h ago

i was bouta say I play plenty of faceit and I never paid a dime. You also could just run it in your browser if you want. You do have to download the anti cheat but thats the whole point of it anyway

2

u/1m0a1L 8h ago

It’s also “not a hassle” like others claim it to be. You Litterally double click the AC or press the “activate AC” button before queuing. Some people are incredible lol

3

u/Alpha_1_5 11h ago

Bro in some regions the ping on Faceit is like 100 while on official it’s only 25.

Add the fact that most people on older pcs need to do more to get faceit anti cheat running.

And add the fact that they try it and get stuck in low elo find it too hard and go back to premier

3

u/Reasonable-Ad8862 10h ago

I don’t run into cheaters often enough to bother with it personally

4

u/Puasonelrasho 11h ago

cs2 lost like 20% of the playerbase in the last couple of months, if faceit playerbase didnt decrease thats great for them

and imo faceit its anoying to play and has another issues

-2

u/Deep-Pen420 11h ago

This happens every summer btw. Of course hard core faceit players didn't leave, they just play faceit every day. Most casual gamers take the summer off from games.

1

u/WhirledNews 10h ago

Always interesting when someone just makes shit like this up out of nowhere. Didn’t cite any data, or try to back up the claim in any way.

2

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

Look at steam charts. Cs2 dips every summer and always has, just because i didn't link a very popular and well known source doesn't mean it's not true. Look it up, or stick your head in the sand, your choice.

1

u/Puasonelrasho 10h ago

not true according to last 2 years

1

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

Limiting the data to two years is disingenuous.

1

u/WhirledNews 10h ago

Why? You said “every summer” and the last two years of CS2 data would be the most relevant.

0

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

Yes every summer, last summer there was a big dip after the major, 2024 had the least change, but 900k to 829k to 1m from April to December, that's a dip.

The game came out summer 2023 you can't really measure that summer

Every year of csgo before the the summer always has less players.

And mind you, in 2022 the game had 500-600k average concurrents.

The game is not dying, it's a natural ebs and flows of summer to winter gaming, we just have way more people playing cs2 (which means more people quit too)

0

u/Puasonelrasho 7h ago

couldnt fit more on the screenshot

0

u/Puasonelrasho 6h ago

also its not like 2022-2023 are much different either

1

u/Deep-Pen420 6h ago

There is a dip every summer. You're either blind or disingenuous

0

u/Puasonelrasho 6h ago

there is a dip in the whole year bro

0

u/Miserable-Offer-399 10h ago

Summer is the biggest copium, game is dying and numbers are inflated by bots, Valve could've banned them ages ago but that would drop player count to true value which is 400k

1

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

You're either extremely ignorant or rage baiting, I tried to be nice to you but you clearly have an agenda with your post and it's based on misinformation. Have a good day

6

u/Chance_Arugula_3227 11h ago

I don't play faceit because I don't want to risk it exposing my cheats.

2

u/CSGOan 10h ago

Playing faceit is a hassle. Knife round is a complete waste of time and lots of cancelled matches because people don't connect.

People simply start the game and hope they get a good match.

2

u/GuardiaNIsBae 10h ago
  1. People don’t like kernel anticheat (unrelated to they are cheating)
  2. People are cheating and can’t play without cheats
  3. People don’t care enough about the cheaters to go through the hassle of setting up their account and PC to work with faceit, they just stop playing CS

  4. Faceit does basically nothing to get new players into their platform, a lot of people legitimately don’t know it exists because they aren’t online looking at CS related content, they just click play in steam and play premier

  5. Faceit has their own long list of problems that would drive away new players. Smurfs run rampant, the playerbase is generally more toxic, queue times can be pretty long, New accounts need to verify with their ID which is something a lot of people aren’t willing to give to play a game. The newer updates to their anti-cheat can require a lot of tinkering with your BIOS to get working, meaning a new player tries to launch the anticheat and gets an error which tells them to go into BIOS and change settings that they don’t understand which can brick their windows if not properly done.

2

u/zuhnj 10h ago

Why do I have to use external websites and tools in order to play a fair game? I rather stop playing than using faceit but I am also just a 20k pleb

1

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

20k is the top 10% of ranks you are not a pleb lol

2

u/Deep-Pen420 11h ago edited 11h ago

Premier had 4m+ players in season 4. There are way more players than 1 million.

There is currently an average of 800k+ concurrent players at any given moment all day. Cs2 has a total of 30m+ players.

The faceit player base is tiny and always has been.

All that being said, most people aren't moving to faceit because most people don't have issues with cheaters. Reddit is a loud minority and does not represent the entire player base of cs2.

1

u/TheRedditModsSuck 11h ago

most people don't have issues with cheaters.

A mixture of being unaware that others might be cheating, not caring that others are cheating since it is just a game, or not having any cheaters (particularly in low ranks). Honestly, even though I occasionally play premier, I just don't really care anymore – it's not like I'm trying to go pro, I just find it amusing when there's a spinbotter on either team.

0

u/WhirledNews 10h ago

How many of those players are second or third accounts, or even bot accounts?

2

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

Probably a lot less than you think. Surprisingly (it's not surprising at all), people enjoy cs2 and play the game.

2

u/Historical-Break-603 10h ago

People on this subreddit for some reason fail to realize that 80% of players are below 18k rating, 50% are below 11k, people at those ranks dont have that much problems with cheaters.

2

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

And most people who have issues with cheaters have low trust factor too, until you're at 25k+ cheaters are rare with green trust.

1

u/Historical-Break-603 10h ago

Yeah , but honestly i feel like this season for some reason that shits starts at 20k+.

1

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

Certainly the higher the rank, the chance of getting a cheater is higher. It shifts around but top 10% makes sense.

-2

u/Miserable-Offer-399 11h ago

4m+ players in premier? what are you smoking?

30mln players? please give any evidence supporting that because there is no way this is the player count, Peak numbers would be much different. Unless you include accounts that are not active and played cs for 10 minutes then maybe, over 10 years

333k players across all gamemodes according to csmapstats

4

u/Historical-Break-603 11h ago edited 11h ago

4m+ players in premier?

Thats literally data from the game, at the end of last season 4.6 million people had premier rank. Official cs site says that CS have 29 995 883 unique MONTHLY users.

1

u/Deep-Pen420 11h ago

Trying to be nice to this guy cause I think he's genuinely naive, not rage baiting

3

u/Deep-Pen420 11h ago

Steam charts says 1,014,856 are playing right now....

And these numbers are not "total" players, it's concurrent players.

Steam chart average for the last 30 days is 822k. That means at any moment throughout the 24 hour day there are an average of 822k players online. Sometimes it's 500k, sometimes it's 1.2m. players come and go every 1-3 hours, and players replace them

And premier season 4* had 4m+ accounts with a rank, this is a total number and is public.

I should probably ask you what you're smoking 😉

u/Miserable-Offer-399 10h ago

Account count does not matter as chinese bot farms literally dump accounts after getting reward + we don't know how they define it, it could be cs installation as well.

I've checked leaderboard in csstats and it's 5.27mln players tracked in leaderboard which is 1 mln more than previous season

Then answer me, why there is less players every month? no it's not because of summer, all games are gaining and it's not true for past 2 years. Literally peak players is lower than on release (which was hype).

The only true answer is that, Premiere has AI players/farmbots

1

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

You are lost man.

Look at steam charts, the player count dips every summer.

Even if cs2 lost 200k concurrent players, they still have millions of players. The amount of bots is not even a problem anymore, I personally never see bot farms in NA and even this sub rarely has a post about bot farms, ever since they changed the xp limit and banned 960k accounts, it seems to have declined alot.

You're basing your argument on misinformation.

0

u/Historical-Break-603 10h ago

The amount of bots is not even a problem anymore, I personally never see bot farms in NA and even this sub rarely has a post about bot farms.

Nah, every dm/gungame is just 95% bots in EU

1

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

No it's not dude, this is an exaggeration.

0

u/Historical-Break-603 10h ago

It is, literally played a game today, there was not a single person in that lobby other than me. There is 50/50 split on DM main map pool, but other mappools for dm or gungame is just only bots.

1

u/Deep-Pen420 10h ago

It doesn't mean they make up any significant portion of the player base, the post were talking about claimed 40% or higher is bots and that's just not true.

EU seems to have to worse with bots tho. These bots don't exist in NA

0

u/Miserable-Offer-399 10h ago

NA has like 50x less players than EU (In faceit right now they make up only 2% of players, I have no historical data or plans to wait for 5pm in NA/SA), it's obvious when you look at elo ratings or just observ queue, if NA went up with player count by even 10k it would be suspicious as hell, they try to blend it in EU

→ More replies (0)

0

u/Historical-Break-603 10h ago

Didnt said that they make significant portion of the player base. My guess would be like 40% of all monthly users and like 10-15% of CCU, after all those bots at worst are online for like 4-5 hours a week.

all i said that dm/gungame is literally unplayble, there is only bots on eu.

0

u/Miserable-Offer-399 10h ago

Stop spreading misinformation and open this https://steamcharts.com/app/730, summer argument is just copium

I can join discord with you and we sit on call until I get deathmatch lobby without bots ok?

Go to Google, get results for past 7 days, type "cs2 bot farm reddit" you get 700 results

People like you are going to make this game get TF2 treatment because nobody speaks about it

https://www.reddit.com/r/cs2/comments/1w2b738/cs2_cheating_bot_farming_is_getting_ridiculous/

Here you go, 2 days ago

So far I'm the only one providing any links or any data, you provided two numbers, you are blind man

1

u/OutrageousFarm9757 11h ago
  1. I use linux.
  2. Faceit is not the solution.
  3. Faceit is a shit platform.

1

u/Born-Quality-5414 11h ago

I suspect the people who have no communities/friends to vent about cs other than reddit and people who are so toxic and unsociable that they are put into low trust queue overlap significantly.

1

u/optymista93 11h ago

I am 33 and wasn't gonna bother with all the extra steps just to play few hours a week. This season changed that and I switched to faceit even tho I don't play much. Could be the same with most people. They just want to run a game, play and have fun. Others see kernel level anticheat as a no go.

1

u/bmrtt 11h ago

It's their obnoxious anticheat that's difficult to set up for a lot of people

1

u/EntropyBlast 11h ago

Per capita faceit player count is increasing. The problem is CS2 player counts are at an all time low, meaning faceit staying flat is impressive.

2

u/lMauler 11h ago

Most people care more about weekly drops and xp from valve servers than a third party ranking system that means nothing outside of that platform.

1

u/Meckymeck7 11h ago

My friends and I experience cheaters every 3-4 games on average and we’re only 9K rating. The cheaters are usually grouped with other suspect players or are boosting. I inspect every profile that I suspect of cheating and they all have similar profiles. Pages of comments with either people calling them out for cheating or +rep BS comments. Their account is maybe only a year or two old with little to no games on the account. It’s not strictly high rated matches.

1

u/pinkmann1 10h ago

Most people don’t care about getting better or trying. They either don’t know about facit or they don’t care. I imagine a lot of people
Rather stomach losing to cheaters than Smurf’s or better players.

1

u/Eazy12345678 10h ago

most people when they quit do not come back

1

u/OriginalConsistent79 10h ago

seeing faceit accounts older than 5yrs old is fairly rare for me. there is probably a reason for that.

1

u/Winter-Employ474 8h ago

Miserable-Offer-399 are you russsian?

0

u/Annual_Letter1636 11h ago

Cheating in Premier is free, why would they switch to faceit?

1

u/OHNOitsNICHOLAS 10h ago

People on faceit are miserable, and it doesn't even work on linux.

I'm not dual-booting to get bitched at for an hour
