Help
Ok guys, Im needing some serious advice here, I’m navigating a completely different corporate landscape that I’m unfamiliar with and I need help. I’ve recently started at a new company made it through training and I just didn’t breeze through I had higher ups constantly talking with me and giving me tips, well here’s the thing at the end of our probationary period they switched the team I was on at the last minute. Ok no worries, well I had missed about an hour and a half because of an emergency with my pets, I was first told it was ok then that I needed to provide documentation. I did didn’t hear anything back. Fast forward until now well I get this txt from my immediate manger. last week I had tech issues which was a system issue on their end so I had “downtime” for about 14 hours total. Get this they tried to say they were not going to pay me for those hours even though I was productive during those times. they then said they didn’t have any proof that I was working, well I came back with the time stamps of everything and the email trail tracking my movements during the down time, so when the higher up managers said that “ I wouldn’t be paid for those hours “ I asked for legal documentation regarding why they would not be paying me for those hours, and that I wouldn’t be signing or adjusting any hours without that well all hell literally broke loose. my immediate manager told me she would handle it. Then she txted me later after saying that she had basically had to fight for me to get those hours and when I pressed it she vaigley responded that it would affect team metrics that she was responsible for. And that she was just glad that we both still had a job, like what ! Now I know I definitely have rustled some feathers which I’m unsure how since I was well liked out of training. But I’ve definitely noticed a shift I need advice that’s actionable. If this helps I did recently Ask HR for an accommodation. Any advice helps.

yikes, that's a mess. the pet emergency thing is frustrating but the pay dispute is a much bigger red flag. they basically tried to not pay you for time you were logged in and ready to work because their systems broke, which is definitely not how wage law works in most places. you were right to push back and ask for documentation, that's exactly what you should do when they try to pull something like that.
the comment about "we both still have a job" is weirdly ominous though. sounds like your manager is in over her head and trying to make you feel like you owe her for doing the bare minimum. keep everything in writing from here on, every conversation, every request. if you asked for an accommodation recently too, the timing of all this might not be a coincidence. document everything like your career depends on it, because honestly it might.
