Citizen Archivist program needs volunteers

The National Archives is looking for volunteers who can help transcribe and organize its many handwritten records: The goal of the Citizen Archivist program is to help “unlock history” by making digital documents more accessible.

Been doing this for a month and it’s fascinating! You click on a topic that interests you and it takes you right to those historical records in the Catalog. Tagging and transcribing makes these records more accessible to everyone. New missions are added and updated regularly, so check back often to see what’s new.

Deciphered! What's the last word in the red box? (I know that the recipe makes sense without it, but it's bothering me!)

I bought a lovely piece of blue fluorite at a mineral show a couple weeks ago. They gave me a card with the locality of the stone written on it but I can’t tell what it is.

Help with the bottom half of this recipe?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey all I found a bunch of old recipes and scanned them into a Google drive! Looking for a bit of help with the bottom half of this recipe though, it looks like they just kinda got lost in thought and zoned out tbh😅

Also I'll mention this ahead of time as it's been brought up when I've posted before, I am dyslexic so cursive is extra hard for me to read so I apologize if this is actually like a pretty easy one for y'all.

Anyway thanks for any help (and if you want a link to all those recipes lmk!)

This is my great-great-grandmother's death certificate. I am so close to break through after looking for info on her for a long time. I can't read the Name of Father and Name of Mother. Any help would truly be appreciated. I'm thinking her dad might be Alvah Darnell? Starwell? Mom could be Betsie Tuner?

I'm trying to decipher what is written in the top, lighter portion. (I left the next entry because of overlapping letters. This is from a birth record, listing the father's occupation. The year was 1909 and we know he worked for the railroad. I think it says Passenger (something)... Any idea?
