u/Sevinnee 17h ago

Love that card, but I don't need my LGS to smell worse

The real chad move is to do the 10 push-ups and then politely decline the +1/+1 counter.

u/coolguy420weed 14h ago

Say "one second," stand up, go do 10 push ups, come back to the table, and then say "okay, now I'm going to go trigger this thing's ability."

10

u/AcrobaticVegetable24 8h ago

Then you decline the +1/+1 counter.

Ain't 10 squats way easier to do than 10 push ups?

178

u/HandymanFluff 17h ago

After 8 turns of squats, I'm sure you'll be eager to do some push ups

u/Sucitraf 13h ago

You're looking at a Hiroshima Carp fan, I can do squats all day! (But having Daikon ashi also helps).

u/Rubinschwein47 17h ago

Not after you did that 20 times, then pushups are a nice change of pace

As someone who has done pushups since I was a kid. This is insane to me. Do most people really find squats easier?

Your arms don’t carry your body weight daily. People are used to using their legs to push themselves up stairs and such. Over time, your legs will be stronger than your arms if you do not train them to compensate. Even doing chest based pushups, when I started working out I could crush 20 squats with a 40 lb kettle bell fairly easily, but I couldn’t even do one push up.

Are you trying to tell me something or what

70

u/HandymanFluff 17h ago

Look bro, I just want to improve your mental and physical wellbeing, while also improving the quality and quantity of your life so we can make lifelong memories together, it's nothing personal.

37

u/RockAndStoner69 17h ago

Bro... I never knew you felt that way. You're the best

2

u/DRUTLOL 15h ago

how do i improve the quantity of my life? is this some parallel universe stuff?

4

u/Natt_Skapa 13h ago

I think they mean if you exercise you'll live longer

4

u/Pyrite_skywing 15h ago

Should have made the card also gain 1 life

My only thing would maybe reduce the number in a set.

Because green can get +1/+1 counters for just existing with cards like [[innkeeper’s talent]]. It is every turn for every player though. Maybe 5 would be fair?

u/Sleepy3654 15h ago

100 pushups, 100 sit-ups, 10k run = protection from everything and +10 counters?

6

u/Duffyd680 12h ago

And going bald from training that hard

u/lupusTibetan 16h ago

werewolf card art spotted (tell me i'm right please)

u/HandymanFluff 15h ago

You know your wolfmen well. [[Tireless Hauler]]

4

u/skwatton 15h ago

THIS IS NOT GOING TO HELP THE SMELL AT THE LGS

4

u/EquivalentPin9703 12h ago

As a disabled person, love it but unplayable for me </3

3

u/No-Bet7157 14h ago

It should be 20 sq and 10 pu or 5 burpee

3

u/Scarecr0p 12h ago

I need a whole game mode and set that’s stuff like this lol. No overlapping workout text so you gotta do a ton of stuff on your turn.

3

u/Odin1806 5h ago

I envision an unset that is a workout regimen in disguise!

3

u/xanderxq06 9h ago

remove the once a turn clause and watch the game devolve very quickly

2

u/giasumaru MTGCR > Glossary > Card 16h ago

Add in 10 sit ups and 1km run too lol.

2

u/CaptainRogers1226 16h ago

That flavor text is fucking awesome.

2

u/Bochulaz Grand Calcutron in disguise 16h ago

Does this use the stack

2

u/Watahandrew1 15h ago

It's lame. +1/+1 for 10 pushups. Add "Draw a card/treasure token" and now we talking.

2

u/ShiverinMaTimbers 15h ago

let's do a Tprotect version with showering next

2

u/Tactical_Tasking 13h ago

Original rules text: Once per turn, each player may do 10 squats or 10 push-ups. If they do, they may put a +1/+1 counter on target creature they control.

Add an arm exercise like bicep curls or arm raises

u/MrRad07 Slan Toucher 4h ago

10 squats are significantly easier than 10 pushups. I could probably do 60 pushups in a row. I could, however, do maybe ~150 squats in a row. Gotta up the squats count higher

u/AdStatus4526 13h ago

I don’t love the ableism

3

u/Champiggy 12h ago

Look, not everyone needs to always make themselves the target of every comment. This kind of pointless criticism will never help with bettering the cause of those in actual need.

2

u/Str8_up_Pwnage 6h ago

The whole game is ableist and offensive to the illiterate!
