This is too good for standard, and probably obnoxiously playable in edh. Not through the extra cast ability, but his through being a 2 mana rock. Make it cost 3 and it's all fine

Yeah, I could see that. It's intent is to be playable within a Foundations level draft environment, maybe a little stronger, but in Constructed I'd expect it to be pretty annoying. You think it would still need to cost 3 in that context?

Yeah, the hope was to bring back the old Borderpost cycle from Alara Reborn but make it a little more usable, not sure how far you could push it until it gets too strong but this felt like a decent starting point.

I think the base card here needs to cost 3, similar to the original borderposts, but I love the concept.
