I think the base card here needs to cost 3, similar to the original borderposts, but I love the concept.

Yeah, its intent is to be used in a Foundations level draft environment, maybe a tad stronger, but I agree in that Constructed would need this to cost 3. Really enjoyed playing with the idea, I love the old cycle too. You think it would still need to cost 3 in a Limited environment?

Yes. We have had multiple recent formats dominated by 3 cmc mana rocks (Tarkir, SOS) at 2 mana the set would have to really disincentivize going multiple colors to not be polarizing.

Good point, and those were at Rare and Uncommon, in my head I imagined this to be Common, or potentially Uncommon, but this has even better fixing and enables Landfall and retriggering Utility lands. Thanks for the feedback, that helps a lot with putting it in perspective.

This is too good for standard, and probably obnoxiously playable in edh. Not through the extra cast ability, but his through being a 2 mana rock. Make it cost 3 and it's all fine

Yeah, I could see that. It's intent is to be playable within a Foundations level draft environment, maybe a little stronger, but in Constructed I'd expect it to be pretty annoying. You think it would still need to cost 3 in that context?

Probably. They don't want standard control decks to have signets

Yeah, the hope was to bring back the old Borderpost cycle from Alara Reborn but make it a little more usable, not sure how far you could push it until it gets too strong but this felt like a decent starting point.

I loved that cycle. Everything is gold so they made gold dual lands.
