Sig Hansen

Sig has turned into the biggest asshole with absolutely NO manly values its sickening. He's cut throat an then says he's their friend. He's old an losing his once was touch so now resigns to completely unethical fishing. Steals pots, moves pots, checks pot that arent his when he's been told no about a partnership with another captain, or will just MOVE pots and say it was a hunch, when he was told NO. He cant fish worth a shit anymore so his grimy ass CHEATS!!! What he did to Jake when Jake wldnt tell him where he was catching crab partner so he cld Jakes boss , I wanted to go to Alaska my dam self and just beat his face in!!! My daddy was a waterman he and would NEVER do the shit Sig does. He's so infuriating that we dnt watch the show as as much anymore.

I thought the same shit of how terrible Harley was but I hear he’s actually not like that and production wanted him to be the villain. This is all scripted now, Sig isn’t some pos you think he is.

Harley is a good fisherman.

Yes I do.

To build on this, post production can take sound bytes and things out of context to carve them into whoever they want him to be. Whether it’s scripted or not.

Think about in life, when you only see a small piece of information and draw conclusions. Then later, you’re still mad and learn the whole story…and you’re like “oh well yeah, that’s true, I shouldn’t have been mad”. It’s very similar but easier for production to do this to the audience.

I read the court documents that clearly say his astranged daughter has damage consistent with SA. He got off because his attorneys said the ex wife coherenced her into saying her dad assaulted her. He is a POS. Just maybe not for what the scripts say. Adding a link. Not the one I wanted but I will keep looking. https://komonews.com/news/local/molestation-case-against-deadliest-catch-star-heads-for-appeals-court

Well without knowing the entire story it can happen where the wife told the daughter to say that there have been many cases of a partner (dad or mom) telling the child to say X person did it. Not saying that’s true and it’s gross and terrible if he did do that but I’m not going off of what someone on Reddit tells me unless I see the documents and information myself.

u/Bertsmom18 10d ago

I am not being shitty. I included a link to court docs so you can see what I was looking at. I always try to offer a link and not a random comment.

There was physical damage. You can't get damage to your anus from your mom coaching you to lie.

Okay I’m done with this after this last point.

  1. Never said it didn’t happen
  2. If he did it he deserves to rot in hell
  3. Someone else could have done it and mom coached her
  4. Again not saying he did or didn’t but this is the first time I’ve heard of this so if you’re gonna spread this information show proof
  5. I’m not gonna continue this conversation on a deadliest catch sub Reddit. Have a good day.

Edit; if anyone was curious this comment above me was saying Harley SA his daughter and the charges were dropped cause mom coached the daughter idk how true that is.

that comment is talking about SIG not HARLEY, quit slandering Harley

1

u/Direct_Asparagus4688 9d ago

What? The comments that were deleted were slandering Harley

1

u/pointy_panda 9d ago

maybe you should go back and look at YOUR prior comment, you know the one where you accuse Harley of doing something when it was Sig accused of it, and you should delete it and quit slandering Harley

Unnecessary comment. Irrelevant.

All that happened in 2017. I’m not saying nothing happened but an adult doesn’t usually retain memories when they were 2 years old. Ik I don’t. Also, it was an ugly divorce. I do know women when divorcing and feel angry will do things to get what they want even lie. I’m a woman, women can be just as mean as men.

None of the captains care, they’re just doing what the scripts tell them.

The only stuff that’s real is what’s health related, because the job is physically demanding, and they all take such poor care of themselves with smoking, drinking, etc.

u/Decent-Bed9289 10d ago

Pretty much

You realize the script is
Written to get a reaction from you ….. sorta like it just did……..

It's like pro wrestling now. Sig used to be a face and now he's a heel.

u/Sbuxton240 9d ago

🤣🤣🤣

15

u/1BaconMilkshake 11d ago

😂 It sounds like you're pretty invested. I don't think they're going to lose you as a viewer.

13

u/messy_fart 11d ago

I'm not sure if you're trolling or not, so take this with a grain of salt I guess. All manufactured. However, seeing Harley not being so bad after him playing the bad guy, was kind of rewarding. I like that guy.

13

u/Creepy-Lifeguard-300 11d ago

He's literally always been like this and actually has softened SO much as he ages so that's an interesting take

11

u/WaterLily1704 11d ago

I feel he’s softened a lot since his heart attack. I like him now he’s not so angry all the time

2

u/Superb-Assistance959 8d ago

I’ve been watching DC from day one. This👆is correct. He’s way calmer now than in the beginning.

Sig is a legend and always will be up there and in seattle

8

u/Black_Cat_Fujita 10d ago

I think 90% of their backstabbing and shenanigans is from pure boredom. So much “in-between” time in that environment.

9

u/m_0_n_K_3_y 10d ago

Every single thing the D/C captains do to each other is scripted ... they are all buddies

5

u/Robduke63 10d ago

It's fake bro, has been for years.

6

u/AmeliaEarhartsPlane 10d ago

Sir, this is a produced tv show

10

u/amazingmaple 11d ago

You know that this is all scripted right?

5

u/ClimateSame3574 10d ago

When I worked for a large downtown Asian restaurant years ago, all the captains came in for a Discovery dinner event.

Pretty uneventful, but the highlight was they all needed to smoke so bad, we had to escort them to the roof to let them indulge.

It was well understood at that time that the show was 100% scripted and Sig and the boys were just having a laugh pulling the wool over the eyes of viewers.

3

u/Careful-Structure330 10d ago

It’s a tv show they all get paid for, really who cares what they do. Not like anything they do affects you.

u/GEB82 11d ago

Sig is literally the most respected fisherman in Alaska…your opinion is worthless…but, please, go to Dutch. We’ll all laugh when you get thrown off the dock..

5

u/Hullfella 11d ago edited 11d ago

I'm just wondering how many other fisherman he'll have to get through before he can even have a shot at beating his face in!

Shits so scripted how can anyone believe it's a realistic document of what happens during crab fishing season

7

u/GEB82 11d ago

Freddy…you fucking tool..in fact go up there..approach the northwestern and see what happens…

3

u/WySLatestWit 10d ago

Is Sig literally the most respected fisherman in Alaska? I would like very much to hear what Fisherman who AREN'T associated with Deadliest Catch have to say about that.

3

u/Motive25 10d ago

What is your experience in/connection to the crabbing industry?

3

u/Sea-Variety3384 10d ago

Sig would beat you senseless.

5

u/Diane1967 10d ago

It’s all scripted, I highly doubt he does these things in real life or is unethical like the show produces him and the rest of them to be. It’s a SHOW, it’s based off real life but isn’t real life. You either accept that and watch it or move along.

2

u/norm521 10d ago

I’d love to hear how the show is scripted is it filmed in a tank to make the weather look so real or are u convinced the way they edit the scenes with people talking to make it seem scripted

6

u/Diane1967 10d ago edited 10d ago

Look up the interviews when Andy Hillstrand was still on…that’s a big part of why he left. He was tired of having to refilm scenes when serious issues were happening on the water because a take didn’t come out as they wanted it to. That’s scripted. He said it was too dangerous trying to do a job around what they wanted them to do and say rather than just filming the job they were doing in the first place. Once again, scripted. Has nothing to do with the weather that day and who knows if that’s even the weather that’s actually happening for that take, I’m sure a lot is filmed and played appropriately. I never said I didn’t enjoy watching the show just take it for what it’s worth. Sheesh.

3

u/WD45Fan 10d ago

He's done things like this throughout the show. That being said, as the show becomes more and more scripted, it blurs the lines between the truth and "reality".  PS, I believe he took a camera away from one of the staff and threw it overboard early on in the series.

A handful of the big names came down to San Diego when the show was new because discovery channel wanted to do a tuna version of the show. Besides Phil Harris everyone of those guys were wannabe big shots on top of disrespectful ass clowns. It came down to a stumbling drunk Sig trying to fight someone that is like a father to me. We told them and discovery channel to pound sand

2

u/Fit_Presentation_725 10d ago

Sig’s your daddy

2

u/quitaskingforaname 10d ago

He’s just showing you the way it always was

2

u/godspilla98 10d ago

I still love this show . And the reason is simple mostly everything else on tv is pushing some political agenda and I’m tired of it. Even pro sports just can’t talk about the athletes or the game. Or the shows are just dumb. This show is still entertaining.

2

u/BigDonkeyEnergy 10d ago

I thought this said your daddy was a watermelon. Which was truly the most interesting thing about your post.

u/MithridatesRex 10d ago

There is no honour in business, there is only success or failure.

1

u/RunBanditRun 9d ago

Every good captain knows when to change things up

1

u/PDX_BeerMan 3d ago

The captains get paid more as actors than they make fishing. They just play along with the script their given. Sean Dwyer left the show because he didn't want to participate in all the scripted drama. He also wasn't getting paid as much as Sig.

1

u/IslandQueen504 2d ago

I honestly think it’s all for the show.

u/No_Abbreviations8017 9d ago

“My daddy was a waterman” lol nobody calls themselves watermen

-1

u/KlutzyNegotiation519 10d ago

Sig has been signed for the entire series. The fact that he treats his adopted daughter like gold and his bio daughter like manure tells me enough about him.
