Welcome! Life’s just started, and this sub has a ton of information, you can search just about anything and find what you need.

Honestly that dinky little watch is the equivalent of throwing a small rock at me. If you sleep anything like me, you’ll thank me later.

Get a vibrating alarm that goes under your pillow, amazons got some, but this site has a decent selection of deaf tech -

I suggest you look around, check out the sonic alert/sonic boom alarms.

There’s a lot to consider, price, location of the alarm, if you want noise/vibration/sound, if you want it to be transportable, rechargeable, wired, etc.

Second the sonic alarm! I'm on my second in 10 years (my fault - first one fell and broke.) I'm HOH, have pretty bad insomnia, and I take a couple meds that make me drowsy at night. This sonic boom bed shaker alarm works every time. It also has adjustable volume/frequencies if you want vibration AND sound, or just sound. I think it's like $50 bucks on Amazon but well worth every penny. I wouldn't have made it on time to jobs/classes without it.

Tbf, any of the vibrating alarms on the diglo website are probably good too. Diglo sells a lot of reputable Deaf device brands. I'd recommend finding an alarm with auditory & vibrating functions so you can figure out what works best for you.

Any of the clocks made by SonicAlert are good. You can get them on Amazon or Diglo.

(If you're not in North America or Australia the same clocks are sold under the Geemarc brand in the UK and Europe.)

That should work.

If you have a smart watch set it to vibrate and set your phone to light up.

That’s perfect, that’s what I have too. I’m a heavy sleeper too. :)

Try using two sonic alerts, put one inside your main pillowcase with the pillow and one at the foot of your bed (use painters tape to tape it in place) that you have to get up to turn off. It's easy to shove a pillow away or off the bed during deep slumber but the one by your feet (under the sheet) is harder to ignore especially if you must get up to shut it off.

Using these together is what works for me:

This alarm clock has a bed shaker, sliding volume control that is loud enough for many HoH, and a sliding pitch control for if you hear certain pitches better.

I use it in combination with this sunlight therapy light that has a sunrise feature that is SUPER bright, and only stays on for an hour or so to help you wake up. It's like having the sun in your face, but you can adjust the brightness and tone.

I set my iPhone to visual flash alerts ( for texts, voice mail, app alerts, etc) and use the built in clock app to set an alarm, it will also vibrate. Of course this doesn't work if you're the kind to bury yourself in blankets

Welcome!

Of course leave them.

If you aren't ready to leave them, sign up for a class yourself, work through Lifeprint, watch Daily Moth, go to Deaf events at least once a month, and start spending more and more time in Deaf spaces and less and less time with your partner and other hearing people who don't sign.

Gradually you will grow appart and you will become ready to leave them.

Don't put off learning just because your partner doesn't want to. I've seen what happens when the deaf partner holds back from the Deaf community when their hearing partner has no interest. They become isolated and unhappy.

Read the resources this sub has in its files.

And here are my starter pack links to learn, you will also need a class and Deaf events:
