First time buyer -- If the description says "Paypal only" but under payment methods it says "credit and debit," am I able to use my debit card?
Can I just use my credit card?

I have my vinyl collection on discogs for years. I recently decided to unbox my cd collection which is about 400. I got a new CD carousel rack, and I have a 5-disc CD player I recently got at Goodwill for 10 bucks. I want to add my cds to discogs but don't want to mix them in with my vinyl collection

Does this mean I can't just order this record because they won't ship anything under 35 bucks? Then list at just under that
Edit. Honestly, I have never even looked to see if there was a minimum order amount. I have bought many albums and never had this come up. I almost exclusively buy only 1 at a time as well

I recently ordered a vinyl record through Discogs and the seller shipped it from Bulgaria to Slovenia.
The tracking number is working and the parcel has already left Sofia. However, when I checked the more detailed tracking information, I noticed that the listed package weight is only 0.20 kg (200 grams).
That seems extremely light to me for a vinyl record with the sleeve, outer cover and proper shipping packaging. Even a single LP by itself should already account for a significant part of that weight.
Has anyone had something similar happen with Discogs/Speedy/DPD shipments? Could 0.20 kg just be a placeholder or incorrectly entered weight, rather than the package actually weighing only 200 g?
The seller seems legitimate and the shipment is moving normally, but the weight has made me a little concerned that something might be wrong.
Would you be worried about a 0.20 kg tracking weight for a single LP shipment, or is this fairly common with courier tracking?

Ello, whats to stop someone from making up a new record label, adding a release today, but dating it back to 1990, forging/making up fake details etc. ? I am really not v familliar with how discogs works, but im curious especially now with ai stuff getting posted everywhere with fake infos etc.
How can you check the creation date of a page or entry on discogs? What other ways are there to check legitimacy?

I was wondering if anyone can help with my Kanye - Late Registration pressing.
From what I can tell, it’s a European 2018, but with a slight difference.
Side C — my copy: 171207E3/R 9882407-B
Standard Europe pressing: 171207E3/A 9882407-A
It’s an explicit version, but on the Jay Z version, he doesn’t rap the “I sold kilos of coke” line.
Is this normal?
Thanks!

I don't know, I feel like a few albums in my collection appear more often whereas some albums are yet to come up at all.

Matrix / Runout: TOCP-51118 1 (perfectly matches the 1998 Toshiba-EMI release).
IFPI Code: It has IFPI L151 engraved on the matrix.
Logos: The disc itself has the JASRAC logo printed on it.
The Catch: The back cover is completely red with just the English tracklist. There is zero Japanese text anywhere on the artwork or the disc itself.

Or is there a quick 2-minute way to create a listing with the bare minimum information allowed ( album name and artist and picture of it )?
I once tried to submit an entry for an obscure record and it took a painfully long time. Way too many fields to fill out and it wasn't clear what was required vs. not. This was 5+ years ago. Maybe it is easier now?

Anyone having trouble buying right now now? I go to check out and it won’t let me go to PayPal or use a credit/debit card. Just stays on the checkout screen

3+ weeks ago Discogs added the ability for sellers to add images of their specific copy to their item for sale. Thus the buyer sees the generic "release" photos but if they look at your item they can see additional images that are of your specific copy.
It's a bit of a pain but I like the ability to add images, especially to clarify things like "tiny corner bumps" and the like, and I've been trying to use it for most of my new additions.
Is anyone even aware of this feature? Am I wasting my time, or do buyers actually notice and appreciate this? It's probably such a small minority of items that actually have this new feature enabled that many users may not even be aware of it yet...

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Looks like they're trying to make buying records on Discogs more accessible for the normies. Wondering if this is gonna be limited to verified record stores only.

Hey all 👋 ... long-time Discogs user, wanted to show off the site I run that some of you might find useful....
Quick context if you haven't come across the term: "scrobbling" just means logging a track as you listen to it — a Last.fm thing, going back years. The problem is Last.fm only ever worked for digital/streaming — there was never a way to log a vinyl play, so if you're spinning records, your listening history has always had a hole in it no matter how good your setup is.
That's the itch Vinyl Scrobbler's been scratching for almost 15 years now. Pick the record, log the play, and it scrobbles to Last.fm properly with per-track timestamps. So now your Last.fm history includes the vinyl you're playing too, not just what's streaming.
It's free to use. If it's useful to people here, I'd genuinely love feedback — this sub knows more about actually building and maintaining a collection than anywhere else I've posted.

For a few weeks/months, on the Wantlist, where there used to be the "sort" bar (and I would always sort by Artist to make things easier), has completely disappeared from my version of the website! Anyone else have this problem? Now all my wantlist is just scrambled with no way to fix it! I went to try the "Shop my Wants" feature but it was kind of frustrating. Oh Discogs...you need to update your IT department...

Edit: thanks for all the thoughts & info. I'm going to buy a turntable to test.
I have a box of records that has remained unopened since I moved to LA in 1997. I do not currently own a turntable. I have a cool collection of new-wave, alternative and 12" singles that i can't test but want to sell.
Just for background original Smiths, Depeche, Front 242, Bauhaus, U2, New Order - mostly late 80s-mid 90s.

Hi there
I’ve used discogs for a while but never actually bought from anyone before
I bought an LP on Saturday and sent a courteous the day after saying what sort of time frame would this be shipped and there seems to be radio silence so far
I’ve only bought LPs from eBay before (not counting actual shops obviously) and generally the communication I’ve found in the years I’ve used, it has been pretty good - is discogs generally a bit less like that?
Do I just sit around and wait? And say if nothing happens in the next 7 days do I re-contact the seller and/or discogs customer service?

Hi. I've made a contribution page for an artist a couple years ago i think, however, the artist expressed that he doesn't want his first album to be listed on discogs anymore. Is there a way to delete it? I was the only person contributing it, and the artist isn't known at all ( less than a hundred of listeners). Thanks for the answer.

I've tried to add this variant to Discogs, but I can't figure it out. Would someone who has more experience please add this?

I am interested I’m buying a record that is listed at $149. The latest price sold was $90 in March 2026 and before that it was $35 in January 2026.
I was thinking of asking the seller if they are open to selling it for ~$90 or less if possible. Yet, I don’t want to completely lowball the seller or be disrespectful with the offer.
Any tips are appreciated!

Hi all,
We have been working with record sellers on https://obistrip.app, a tool for selling the same inventory on Discogs and eBay. We wanted to make something simple, easy to use, and reliable.
You can bring in your whole Discogs inventory and sync up to 50 records at a time for free, making ObiStrip useful for hobby sellers or anyone selling a smaller collection.
I'd really value questions or feedback here. Thanks!

Do the notifications work in the app on android? I do not get any notifications, despite having them fully enabled in the app and my phone. A reboot doesn't fix it. It doesn't matter if it's for wantlist items or messages or shipping notifications - nothing comes through for anything in which I have push notifications enabled.
