Do you guys actually use Discord regularly? Calls and streaming don’t seem to work here, so I’m wondering what everyone uses it for.

Are there any workarounds, or do you just use another app for voice calls/streaming?

The title explains what happened, but to elaborate, a little while ago I tried to access Discord through its website, and when the site loaded I was already logged out. I logged back in normally, but when I closed the tab and enter the website again, boom, Having to log in again, I did a test: instead of using my default URL (which goes directly to the server I use most often), I went to the URL without anything else (just Discord.com) and logged in through "Open App" and joined without needing to log in again. Has anyone else experienced this?

Heyo! So I have a discord webhook set up between my server and a jcink forum that I am using. It will ping users just fine but when it pings a role it doesn't actually notify anyone, it just says the name of the role (linked and everything, just not notifying people).

Exhibit A^ I had placed myself in each of these groups, not a single time was I notified. It mentions the role, its linkable etc but I receive no notification. Anyone know how to fix this??

Yesterday morning my iPhone Discord App was lagging, slow, and when I connected to voice channels it would connect but I couldn’t hear or talk.

I uninstalled discord, reinstalled it, didn’t seem to help. Then suddenly when I opened the app again all I see is a blank discord stuck in loading and I can’t interact with it. I uninstalled, turned off and back on the phone, then reinstalled the app to see if it would fix anything. Didn’t ask me to log in. Seems just be stuck on a blank ever-loading screen.

Anyone seen this before?

ALL the time when I'm in VC with my 2 person private server this popup covers my chatbox and the bottom of my screen with no way to clear it, is there really no way to turn this off entirely? we already had an incident where a stranger got invited because of accidently clicking this before 😭 we will never be wanting to invite more people to this discord so I wish I could turn it off. Hey everyone, hoping someone here has run into this. Whenever I have a game and Discord running together on my laptop, both crash and disconnect at the same time roughly every 10 minutes (not perfectly regular, but close). After a few seconds they reconnect on their own and everything's fine again until it happens again.

It only happens on my laptop, my phone and tablet on the same Wi-Fi never have this issue, and it seems tied specifically to having Discord open alongside a game. This started at the beginning of the school year with zero problems and gradually got worse over time, so I suspect I changed some Wi-Fi setting on my laptop at some point trying to "optimize" something, but I honestly can't remember what. A normal speed test shows perfectly good results, so it's not a bandwidth issue.

So far I've done a full Windows network reset, updated the Wi-Fi driver, disabled power saving on the Wi-Fi adapter, checked the preferred band and wireless mode, lowered roaming aggressiveness and disabled background scanning, flushed DNS and reset Winsock/TCP-IP, ruled out a rogue proxy or weird hosts file entries, uninstalled any network booster software, confirmed it happens whether plugged in or on battery, tried disabling Discord's QoS setting (turns out it's been removed from the client), and disabled all of Malwarebytes' protections to rule that out. None of it changed anything. I also ran a continuous ping to 8.8.8.8 during a crash and it stayed completely stable with no timeouts or spikes, which makes me think it's not a general internet/Wi-Fi signal problem but something more specific, maybe UDP traffic getting interrupted somewhere without affecting basic ping.

Plz help me, it's unplayable

There is an account I am not friends with but used to be and we don't share any servers. If I react to an old message in DMs, the screen does not shake but the reaction disappears. However, if I send a friend request, it goes through to pending. In addition, when hovering over their profile, it says "unable to load parts of this profile."

If I send a message, it turns red and I get a bot message "Your message could not be delivered. Send a friend request first and start the conversation once they've accepted."

Am I blocked?

Whenever I talk with friends, they have my volume up to 200% and even then my mic is real quiet to them. I have all volumes on max that I could find and change for the microphone and nothing seems to work without making the mic sound ugly. My headset is Steelseries Arctis Prime if that changes anything. Please if anyone has a solution, mention it in the comments

Is there any way to make it so I don't appear in any server's Recent Activity log? I'm fine with people seeing what I'm currently playing, but having everyone be able to see what I played four days ago is extremely creepy to me. Why is discord tracking it in the first place?

I don't remember exactly when I stopped being able to do this. On mobile, I used to be able to see who was looking at a stream, by tapping the streamer's name and it would bring up a list of the users in the voice chat, with viewers having an eye icon next to them.

This no longer happens, now the list of users has no indication as to who's viewing, and I can't find anywhere else to view this. It's been like this for at least a year not but I'm just now getting annoyed enough to ask if anyone knows where to see the stream's viewers or if it is just completely gone now.

It seems I can only see this on desktop now...

I often watch my friends do things on Discord using the streaming function on full screeen, but sometimes I have the nerve to press a button while selecting their stream, causing this chat bar to appear. Is there a way to dismiss it? The only way I've found is to leave and reenter full screen.

I have someone who has been banned from my server (due to some drama) and I can see they are still using my server tag. Is there any way to force a removal of this from them? I don't want any association with them.

Before I begin, I should preface with this: I greatly appreciate how much better the Discord experience is now than when I first started using it on Ubuntu a few months ago! At that time, EVERY time Discord updated, it would no longer be able to log in and would launch my browser to download a .deb package, which then had to be manually installed. A while back, they changed Discord so it installs updates automatically, so that's been huge!

However, around that same time (possibly the same time?), for reasons unknown to me, Discord stopped automatically launching when I logged in. I checked Ubuntu's "startup apps" dialogue, and the command Discord was making for itself looked like this:

/home/*username*/.config/discord/app-*version*/Discord

I don't know what command Discord was using prior to the launch-on-startup breaking, because back then I never had a reason to look. And, frankly, I don't know why this command syntax wasn't working. It launches if I run that command myself. Maybe something to do with the version number changing, I haven't tested that extensively. I also don't know if there was an explanation logged because I couldn't be bothered to dig for it.

I pretty quickly found that "/usr/bin/discord" would launch Discord just fine. So, just enter that in startup apps, right? Problem solved? No. Here's where things actually got stupid. Because I found that if I entered that as a startup app, the next time Discord ran, it would replace my entry with its own command, the same one from before. Which doesn't work. I thought maybe that was because I had the automatic start toggle on in the app, so I turned that off, redid the startup apps command again, and opened Discord. Which... then showed the toggle being on again? And I found that it had replaced my startup apps command AGAIN.

It kinda felt to me like Discord was looking for any entry in startup apps which contained the word "discord." And, if one were present, it was interpreting that as the toggle being on in the app, and it would replace that entry with its preferred startup command. I couldn't be bothered to screw with it for a while, because frankly I'm past the point in my life where I enjoy fiddling around trying to make my computer work, so I just launched Discord manually. Tonight, though, I finally decided I had a few minutes to confirm the theory. So, I made a script fix.sh containing only the command "/usr/bin/discord," and made an entry in startup apps for that script. Other than inside the script, it doesn't have the word "discord:"

Lo and behold, Discord now launches on startup. And because it doesn't think the startup launching is enabled, it isn't messing with the "startup apps" entry anymore.

Hi, basically I changed phones because my sister got a new phone and she gave me hers so I could replace my old one.

Before that, she used it perfectly, and I even watched screen recordings from her phone on my laptop and it looked fine. But since I reset it, now the screen is only half visible and it doesn't let me comfortably share the screen when I'm showing something to my friends. Any advice or ideas?

why do some people have addition name style options for effects that i have yet to receive or be able to see unless its in other peoples screenshares?
