recently took a trip on a dive boat in Southern California, boat & crew were amazing, no notes and would book again without a doubt. My complaint comes with the people who were on the dive boat… it was a full house, and aside from our dive stations there really wasn’t much seating. It left early and multiple people took up entire booths in the galley to sleep. Like horizontally, taking up the entire booth that should fit at least three people. Like yeah, we are all tired…. Additionally, it was rocky boat ride and people straight up falling into me, others and not even the slightest “sorry”. I understand that comes with territory of being on a rocky boat but I just found that odd. Little camaraderie & overall just pompous attitudes. And these people weren’t even coming across as super experienced divers or anything, just assholes.

Is this the normal? Is this just Southern California? What has been your experience.

I’ve really enjoyed the community out here so far but this was a little surprising to me. Would love anyone else’s take + experience on this.

I am a disabled 37 f I am going to Hawaii in December for the first time. I would love to do shark cage diving. But my hysband is worried I won't be able to. I've had three major strokes im on dialysis. I know I need to ask the company I would use but I need to find a company and would like to know before searching if i can still do shark cage diving. Apologies for bothering you with such a common topic.

I did my firsts real dives on a trip:

Wednesday:
52 min / 8.7m
50 min / 11m

Friday:
2 dives:
55 min / 9.6 meters
45 min / 8.8 meters

During the last dive, I had two or three ascents without stops—I made some mistakes by accident, and the instructor for that outing didn't pay much attention to us; he was busy filming a video to sell.

I not so tired today, but I’ve felt dizzy since Friday—though not as much today—especially when looking at a computer screen; it seems to match the symptoms people usually describe. Today is the third day. I don't know if it's all in my head, but I feel some joint discomfort—it’s not constant, nor does it quite reach the level of pain. Still, I’m unsure if I’m just psyching myself out.

I messaged my instructor back home; he isn't a doctor, but he says it seems very unlikely to be decompression sickness given the dive depths. I’ve booked an appointment with an ENT specialist for Thursday, maybe is just my ears. 

I remain quite worried.

DAN doesn't operate in my country (Uruguay) (maybe paying secure for diving previusly, but i not found anything); I’ve read about that.

Hi! I come with a very specific request of recommendations. I am currently in Yucatan on a two week roadtrip w my husband. As he doesn’t dive and we are only getting these two weeks of holidays together, I am not focusing on diving and have only brought my computer to do 1 dive day. The thing is I was determined to do a couple of reef dives from Mahahual, as we will be in Bacalar towards the end of the trip, but today some locals encouraged me to try cenote diving. Some thing to note: I am AOW, over 30 dives, I did do cenote diving once some years ago in Casa Cenote but as its an open pool, I dont think its the same as the others these locals were recommending.

ANYWAYS (sorry for the long post). Would you recommend mahahual for a morning diving? Or better to go try a cavern cenote? If so, which would you recommend? Also to note that I am a very cautious diver and I really hate when dive shops/dive masters have a whatever attitude in terms of safety/certifications/etc.

I’m a 27yo male, in pretty good shape both in cardio and strength, and I’m supposed to have my first diving experience next weekend.

Yesterday I noticed a small bump between my genial area and my belly button, and this morning my doctor said it’s a small reducie inguinal hernia. Nothing to worry about she said, you can just push it back inside, no pain or weird colors or anything.

I asked her if I could go to my diving baptism, and she said there’s no problem.

However, internet info says it’s extremely dangerous.

Any expert here? I’m really excited for this diving experience, but I don’t want to put my life in danger.
