Yes! This is my OC, Walker! And yeah a bit of a self insert, but I had a lot of fun making her and trying to imitate the Don’t Starve Art Style
-|Info|-
Walker
The Depressed Researcher
Birthday: March 22
Quote: “How curious…”
Bio: Despite her constantly sad mood and gloom eyes, Lena Walker always had a curious mind of her own. You know what they say, curiosity killed the cat.
Odds of survival: Grim
Perks and Quirks -
Depressed - If not distracted with constant chores, her sanity will decay rapidly (-10 sanity per min). Negative aura effects are 10% more effective. Rain makes her feel sad (wetness affects her sanity much more negatively)
Curious mind - If the player inspects an item, she gains a 2/min sanity boost for 10 minutes, this can stack up to 5 times (Max 20 sanity per min). This whoever gets canceled after receiving damage
Sleepy - Sleep effects will have a longer duration. Sleep sacks or sleep tents won’t have any additional effects
Researcher - After crafting a new item she’ll receive 30% more sanity boost. Also, she can create blueprints (using 2 papyrus and 1 feather pencil) of each crafting recipes learned to share with other survivors. Using the Deconstruction Staff will no longer consume sanity and the deconstructed item automatically will give Walker the recipe for it. All this does not include crafting recipes from the Ancient Pseudoscience Station, unique survivor items (Example: Wendy’s potions, Wickerbottom’s books…), but it does apply to Winona’s constructions and gadgets, Rose Colored Glasses won’t be able to be crafted or learned
Enters The Constant with:
2 Papyrus
1 Feather Pencil
Backstory:
After someone blew up her college’s science lab, she had to step down from her original career and be a researcher, which made her lost a year in college. After getting out, a long friend of hers got her a job as a lab assistant and researcher for Robert Wagstaff. Taking advantage of her knowledge and a pair of hands, he allowed Walker to work in his portal and have a part on the creation of WX-78. Soon after losing WX-78 and decaying into depression, Wagstaff gave Walker access to the same projector he uses to be inside The Constant, allowing her to be once again with her former partner.
-
Additional info:
I already said this in a previous post, but Walker misgenders WX-78 because she can’t accept they are gone and much happier without her. This does not means I think WX-78 have male pronouns or that this is disrespectful towards non-binary people, absolutely not. I acknowledge WX-78 is a non-binary character…
Also, check out my previous post (here) to have a bit of more info about the character and to not be redundant about her
EDIT-
Yes I just realized what I did to Wilson’s hair… I can’t edit the post to add the correct image LOL SORRY WILSON

Hey everyone,
I’ve been meaning to try Don’t Starve Together for a while now. I’ve played a few survival games before, but DST has always looked like the kind of game that would be way more fun with someone else rather than playing completely solo.
The whole idea of starting with basically nothing, figuring out what everything does, trying not to starve, and then slowly getting a proper base going sounds really fun to me. I’ve also heard that the game can get pretty chaotic once you start playing with friends, which is honestly part of the appeal.
I was looking at the game recently and noticed that when someone buys it, Steam includes an extra copy that can be gifted. So I figured I’d ask here in case someone has that spare copy sitting in their inventory and doesn't have anyone to give it to.
If anyone has an extra copy they're not planning on using, I’d be really happy to take it off their hands and finally give DST a proper try. I wouldn't want anyone to go out of their way to buy another copy specifically for me — just thought I’d ask in case somebody already has the extra one.
I’d definitely put it to use rather than letting it sit there. :)
Thanks for reading!

i know i’m insane for still playing single player with no dlc (i have all three but i still enjoy vanilla a lot) but i have no idea how to make my base look anything other than functional. i’m not too good with decorating even with the increased item variety in the dlcs so it’s even more apparent in vanilla where the only decorative plants i can think of are bushes and flowers. i like having cobblestones for the speed and also because they look nice
this picture is from a world i haven’t played in a while where i somehow neglected to put any kind of greenery in but even with plants all my bases look about as drab as this

If you have a quick question you can post it there. The post is stickied all month outside of announcement so don't worry someone will see it.
Although old some of these links should help newcomers in the game:

I feel like I'm missing something but every mega base I've seen (mostly on youtube) seems to have all the functional stations built far apart from each other. I just can't imagine using a base where you have to walk to a different biome to use your crock pots or craft something. I feel most of them are purely decorative with everything turned off.
I have a compact base (~2.5 flingos) and I rarely have to go anywhere far to do anything. I'm interested in building mega bases, but I value function and really dislike inefficiency. Do I build one just to build one and continue to use my compact base? It's keeping me stuck from starting :(
