Zev puppet incoming!!
my mom and a lot of her friends are Dungeon Crawler Carl fans, and she decided very last minute that she wanted to make a (nearly) true-to-size Zev puppet for this year and recruited me to help. i've never read DCC, no clue what its about, no clue who princess donut is until maybe one week ago. but we made it happen!
she sourced the materials (a kid's astronaut costume, a stuffed fish, and a wicked popcorn bucket) and did all the sewing and attachments. i figured out the body shape and built that out of pool noodles, a toddler onesie, and a mangled halloween decoration. she has bendable knees for sitting.
she still needs handmitts and minor adjustments. maybe some patches if we feel like it tomorrow. please say hi if you see her! my mom worked SO HARD on her and i think she is just the cutest thing in the world even if i don't know the source material.

New Achievement! Conventional Puppetmaster
You have crafted a puppet! Somewhere between the genius of Jim Henson's "Dark Crystal" and a paper bag with a smiley face on it that was made by Timmy in pre-school lies the creation that you have just forged from random things you found around your house.
I hope you remembered to build this thing to withstand the rigors of huge crowds, and you're prepared to answer questions from fellow nerds about why your fish puppet is saying "Hi," to a Donut. Most people probably won't say anything to you at all and just whisper to their friends, "It's probably from an episode of Star Trek."
Reward: A plethora of jokes from fellow con-goers about Zev having "something" up her ass. That something is you. Your hand. Up her ass.

My wife and I just started reading them this year and we love them so much we made Carl and Donut costimes. I really hope we run into her! Does she plan on on bringing it every day?

unsure what my mom's plans are for her, but I will be walking around with her a good bit on Friday/Saturday while she's busy working panels and prejudging! i'll be taking Zev to the photoshoot at 5:00 on Friday for sure.

I feel like the amount of “HIII ZEV!“ you hear will be almost as many “Hi Barbies” there were in 2023 😂

OMG. Hopefully I'll see y'all at the photoshoot--I would love to get a pic with your Zev while I'm in my own Zev costume!
