Discussion Marxist Leninism will ruin DSA.
I know this will get down voted but sometimes people need to hear things they dont like. Marxist Leninists do not believe in Democracy. They're using DSA for their own ends and are quite open about it. If they could snap their fingers and create the dictatorship they desire they would do the same thing to DemSocs that they did to the SRs and Mensheviks, aka the Democratic Socialists of the Russian Revolution. They would purge, imprison and kill every Democratic Socialist in their way.
Thankfully, in the context of the USA an ML dictatorship is extremely improbable for structural and cultural reason. So whats going to happen is theyll make DSA irrelevant within the next five years if you let them spread and take power, which their explicitly stated goal.
Every single communist party turns into a tiny sectarian cult, thats where Democratic centralism ends inherently. The Democratic part disappears, the centralism remains.
All they will do is alienate normal people, far more so than even the excesses of "woke 1" or cancel culture or any of that. DSA has spent the last decade saying "we're Socialists not communists" and making a distinction between authoritarian communism and Democratic Socialism.
All thats being undone because people think Marxist Leninism is trendy and cool, and so they dont want to look uncool for being "anti-communist." But here's the thing, being anti ML isnt the same as anti communist, because plenty of communists hated Marxist Leninists. There are entire communist traditions that are anti Bolshevik. Council Communism, Anarcho-Communism, Autonomism, Orthodx Marxists, Luxemburgists are all anti-Bolshevik. Otto Rhule for instance wrote an entire pamphlet called "Struggle Against Fascism Begins With The Struggle Against Bolshevism." you should read it.
Anyway, good luck with the tanks when they roll in. If you cant afford an RPG7, I heard Molotovs are a good substitute.
To address some statements:
1-"they dont want to take it over"
"Red Star seeks to cohere a vanguard party. We do not specify exactly how this party will emerge, but we believe DSA can foster its creation — DSA’s resources, broad membership, organizing ethic, and robust democratic processes make it, out of all existing US socialist organizations, the best incubator for such a party."
This is a clear statement of intent which indicates the goal is entry and co-optation
2- "Read Lenin, and stop being a liberal"
Stop reading Lenin and be a Marxist. Marxism is about material analysis not some dead autocrats flowery language. Material analysis tells us that Lenin created a massive state bureaucracy which led directly to Stalinism. First they purged the Mensheviks, then the left SRs, then the anarcho-syndicalists, then the workers opposition. Then Lenin banned factions. Next Lenin died and Stalin purged Bukharin and Trotsky. It doesnt matter Lenin said, what matters IS WHAT HIS PARTY DID.
Saying "read Lenin" when somone points towards the actual actions of the party is like saying "read Hitler" when somone talks about the holocaust. Yes, if we all read Hilter it will become apparent that actually the holocaust was good. Thats your logic.
3- "Democracy within the party"
Democratic Socialism is in support of Representative Democracy, not democratic centralism. Thats just liberalism, its a core principle. Democratic Socialists agree that one party states ALWAYS lead to tyranny. Because its a fact, its not an opinion.
To maintain that kind of monopoly requires a massive amount of force and violence.

Discussion This is funny, ironic.
So Some contacts, I am moving to a new city, and we stopped by our new house and returning almost there, and it showed Trump pointing at 1 side, saying with the gas press for 4:94 think it was. And then, on the other side, where you were not pointing to it was 2:98. In the side that he wasn't pointing to, says before he was in office. And now the 4:94, what was after he was in office? The war. Don't You think it's kind of ironic that even the Billboard is pointing this out
Discussion I want to join the DSA but I'm a little nervous too.
I'm afraid that if this country gets an more fascist they will start rounding up all the members of the DSA. I don't want to do anything to endangered my family.
Any thoughts?

I am curious how this would unfold. Keep in mind that the ruling class will not willingly give up its power and property.

Pretty basic question I’m just wondering if the DSA plans on using military means to end the genocide against Palestinians or just use economic sanctions

Discussion Why not condemn terrorism against civilians?
Why can't the DSA, its local groups and Socialists in general condemn terrorism against civilians? Yes, the IDF are soldiers and soldiers are legitimate targets in a war. But how are women and children on a bus or in a restaurant legitimate military targets? They are not. Only cowards target known civilians. Cowards & criminals, and Socialists should understand this. Yes, the IDF and other Israelis often commits terrible acts of terrorism against Palestinian, Lebanese & Syrian civilians. BUT so does Hamas against Israeli civilians. Condemning attacks by Israelis against civilians but justifying, defending, excusing attacks by Hamas & Hezbollah against civilians is an immoral and pathetic double-standard. Time for Socialists to show some moral consistency.

Shitpost In Response To Track Hasan Piker, I Made a Far Superior Version. MEET TRACK BASED FOLK!
galleryI thought this would not only be fun to make, but also an important and useful tool for getting to know content creators in a nice and digestible format. The nice and soothing green backgrounds are for people who do good for the world and are a net benefit to society and the fight against fascism at large. The one with basically hell in the background is reserved for people who are fascists and/or fascist collaborators. The ones in green get nice and elegant photos of them, meanwhile the ones in red get their most embarassing ones.
Who should go into the Track Based Folk cards next? I am also happy to get feedback on how I can improve the overall design of these cards as well!

Discussion What is Democratic Socialism?
As the popularity of “democratic socialism” rises, the question it becomes increasingly important to confront the question of what democratic socialism means.
Every day, there are more and more posts talking about how democratic socialism is capitalist, but rather it seeks to use tax dollars more effectively and increase tax and spend policies.
Is this what democratic socialism is? A better management of capitalism?
I believe that democratic socialists must all reject this label.
Yes, the DSA and democratic socialists do back popular reformist policies, and these policies are good and should be campaigned for and implemented. They meaningfully improve peoples lives, and as a whole, also tilt the balance of power towards the working class in their struggle against capital.
But the project of democratic socialism itself cannot be understood simply as the demands to make a nicer capitalism.
If our goal is only to make capitalism more generous or better managed, then what makes that socialism?
Rather the long term goal of democratic socialist politics must be to overcome the capitalist social order. The ultimate aim must be to establish democratic control over the economy, one where the masses, not capitalists, collectively decide what and how things are produced.
In other words, democratic socialism must mean a democratically planned economy.
