Could someone please explain what the heck is future bass. I can’t figure out for the life of me what the heck is future bass.

My friend is trying to tell me that eprom and g jones have some future bass song, flume for sure, but i see some places on the internet that tells me that illenium produced future bass earlier in his carreer, and when i go listen to the songs, they sound like melodic dubstep to me 🥲

And if Eprom and G jones aren’t future bass, then what type of music do they produce

Edit: Thank you all for the answers, just listened a bit to glass swords and i understand better what future bass is, i still feel like all those answers wont be enough for my friend, as he can be quite stubborn sometimes, but I have my answers now, and I think G jones is closer to space bass? I might make a new post on space bass
