Me and a group of friends (late high school age) are thinking about putting together a team for the social netball competitions at the Edgar Centre. We all have enough people for a team, but none of us are particularly keen on the level of competitiveness/drama that can sometimes come with high school netball. We’re basically just looking for something fun where we can just play netball.

We’re all still in high school, and we’re worried we might be noticeably younger than most of the teams.

One of my friends’ mums plays social netball at the Edgar Centre and reckons it can actually be more competitive than high school netball, which has made us a bit hesitant.

For anyone who plays there, is that actually the case? How competitive would you say the Wednesday women’s social competition is? Is it genuinely social, or is it more of a “social” competition where everyone still really wants to win?

Also, would you recommend it for a group of high schoolers who are mainly looking to have fun?

If not, does anyone know of anywhere else around Dunedin where we could play very casual/social netball against other people rather than just playing amongst ourselves?

I'm starting my PhD next year and is considering getting a second-hand hybrid/EV. I've been living on Maori Hill since undergrad, but I'm at a point in life where I feel like walking to & back from campus and bringing my groceries up the hill is inefficent - but i would rather walk than bus (since they're unreliable and sometime the smell make me nauseous).

I'm an international student, just got my restricted recently and have never owned a car, my family don't know much about it either since we only uses motorbike back home. From my understanding, it is expensive (and slightly unjustifiable) for uni students to own a car esp. living in central dunedin - road cost, WoF, etc. and i feel like having to pay for parking is a scam. But I guess that's life. I kinda want to move to Christchurch after so idk if I should until then.

What would you do?

Not entirely sure what everyone had in mind so suggestions and comments are welcome/needed.

I was thinking maybe somewhere with a cafe/bar situation so anyone who needs some liquid courage can do so but not an actual bar in case anyone finds that difficult. Ombrellos or Ironic come to mind but I'm sure there's plenty of other options.

As for the day/time I'm guessing an evening? I'm free all the time so there are no strong feelings on that from me.

This weekend I'm going to a viewing for a seemingly really nice house in Ravensbourne right on the harbor. It's been renovated and it's double glazed. What is it like living there?

My husband drives but I would have to mostly take the bus to get to work in town (3 days a week) - I see that the number 14 goes by every half hour and the bus stop is right in front of the house. We're in our mid 30s and are planning to have a child in the next year. Would appreciate any advice!

I’m moving from halls to flatting next year and I need to buy furniture and it seems the most ideal to buy online. Me and my friends are alr getting a storage unit however I will be buying furniture over the summer and need to work out a way to have it stored, since I won’t be in Dud over the holidays. Really stressed as I obviously can’t guarantee when my things will arrive and so while i’m willing to fly down I can’t really do so if it doesn’t arrive, or if i have no address to ship it to. I don’t want to risk starting uni with no furniture so does anyone know a solution???? Please please help.
