Given that this was custom, I personally would have charged more given the knowledge base needed and risk you had to take. But if you want to use it as a learning experience go right ahead.

Any custom electrical work with batteries I would want insurance, and insurance will definitely charge you a shit ton. It's why so many local bike stores don't work on ebikes where I am, even if they work on non battery components because of fire risk.

175$ is much too low for labor. People where I am charge 200$ for a 15 minute plumbing job, this is significantly more complex.
