A Fairly Short Guide to Hunting Skyshards

Hi friends! After having a conversation with a few people in my circle, I realize character building in a reasonable amount of time seems like a convoluted art form, so I figured I'd write up a quick guide on how to maximize your skyshard and skill point hunting so you can be fast at doing it, and so you can avoid spending crowns on said skyshards in the crown store.

"Who is this for?" you might ask? Well, its for those who have established a strong main character, have 160+ champion points, but don't exactly know the next step on building up alternative characters they have made in a fashion that doesn't make you want to stop playing the game entirely. This isn't "instantaneous" and it isn't going to magically put skill points in your new characters pocket, but for any new character you make, this can be used to maximize your playtime into actually getting what the character needs, without putting real money up in the air and without it being particularly slow and rough. I've just gathered all this info from what I've seen in terms of builds, as well as what I have done myself that seems consistent. This is not for underleveled characters. If you are like me, sometimes you get your characters to level 50 before having enough skill points to even fully flesh out their builds, and you need a build to hunt skyshards and skill points to get them past the finish line.

Though this is still tedious, because it always will be. If you can handle that, then this should be no issue. Of course, you also need some prerequisites in terms of gear.

Gear Needed:

5x Mother's Embrace, 5x Darloc Brae, and Ring of the Wild Hunt (try to double bar darloc braes because we arent doing this for damage. doesnt matter what weapons you choose ) You are gonna want to have max stamina enchants because we are stamina speccing. Also, since we are just transmuting, character should be level 50 already at champion point 160. As id say its near impossible to collect this gear in a reasonable amount of time while being under level.

Mundus:

The Steed

Attributes:

all stamina

Food:

any food that increases all three attributes. Longfin pasty, etc. Not generally necessary, but helps you sustain shadowy disguise for longer without needing to stop.

Medium Armor:

Try to put some skill points into Improved Sneak and Athletics passives while doing this as it will help you hunt a bit faster. Do this as you hunt for skill points and skyshards, as its kind of a passive thing that just sorta gets there. but im mentioning it because it should be first to fully optimize this setup.

Alliance war Assault skill line:

this can be done sorta passively while getting your character to 50, but try to aim for the continous attack passive in Assault so you can get the permanent 15% mount speed bonus. Hopefully you are also logging in every day on this character to purchase mount speed upgrades from the stablemaster.

Champion Point Perks:

From the red tree get Hasty, then slot celerity, as well as steeds blessing and gifted rider from the green tree.

Subclass Shadow from nightblade when you are on any class other than nightblade:

We need shadowy disguise for quick getaways and easy aquisitions. Darloc brae is the thing that helps us sustain this better.

Grab Vampirism:

Now that the quest doesnt need a bite to start it, and its much easier to acquire, this should be faster than asking a player. And you will get to level 3 just passively as long as you have a skill equipped from it on either bar. We need vampire so we can get the dark stalker passive as it removes the sneak penalty AND makes it so that the sneak happens instantly instead of it being slow to get into. It also makes sense to have this over using a set that removes the sneak penalty, because no one has time for that.

Final Additions:

You want to grab some skill lines as well while doing this to passively give them some experience, so make sure to grab fighters guild, mages guild(in case you run into any lorebooks) and undaunted before you start just so you have those(should be the first thing you do on new characters anyways)

Make sure to grab an addon that has a mini map, and an addon that has skyshard pins so you know in general where they are(preferably one thats up to date) so you dont have to spend time looking at images of the skyshard location on google like the olden console days.

I also recommend the addon BeamMeUp so you can teleport to zones without having to spend gold on wayshrines or extra time running to another zone you dont have unlocked on said character. Helps tremendously with time saving.

And thats pretty much all you need. Just sneak-sprint or sprint your way to all your skyshards! And, this build is still okay enough to kill those bosses in most public dungeons(for that skill point for the group event) so its good for those too.

Also use this build for skill point collecting through quest chains like the main quest, and the war faction questline. Also dark brotherhood, thieves guild, etc.

Like the title says, I want to bring more of my friends here, but most of them reject the idea of paying for a game they know next to nothing about.

I know how they feel, since we're from a 3rd world country and we don't have easy means to buy stuff online.

Still, I'd like to know: would YOU recommend ESO to someone, taking into consideration everything happening around it?

In our trifecta we did a bad timer on this boss, wanted to test how fast we could be using our final duo setup. We were pretty fast

I'm hopeful about the werewolf and group shield nerfs but not smart or well-informed enough to know.

Should a player like me who's just getting into PVP stick around and see what happens, or just call it quits now and let the ball groups and tower humpers have their fun?

Or was it replaced by the Tamriel Unlimited version before release. I'd like to add this version to my collection if it exists but I've only ever seen Tamriel Unlimited.

Do you guys sell all motif pages regardless of value? Hunt for blueprints? Flip things?

In the 300 hours I have in ESO I have spent the VAST majority of it at less than 10,000gp.

Is it possible I'm sitting on some kind of resource worth money?

Does anyone there know when either happens? I want to go return to the game, but the DLCs cost a lot of money. I own Deluxe edition BTW.

Taking some time to fiddle with DLSS5. Feels very subtle in this game, seems to not effect the environment almost at all and primarily bring out the detail in character models and blend lighting far better than vanilla (clothes to skin, underneath hoods, shine on armor, etc). I'd say many of the models really need the extra detail, this is one of the games it feels like this works best on.

I feel like money in this gane is pretty slow. It took me 2 weeks as a championed player to get 1 million gold

Class Masteries are so super strong that I struggle to make subclassing viable in PvP. Like, could we maybe get one of two mastery buffs if we only subclass 1 tree? It would help with filling in the buff/debuff gaps some classes have. I honestly really liked being able to mis and match so freely.

I could just be wrong, idk.

so, i'm currently loving the Dragon Knight Magika stamina hybrid Dragon Knight, the magika abilities alone have great sustain and versatility and synergies well with the stamina abilities. i made my DK mag stam hybrid a Khajiit i've named Zari-ra Dragon of Senchal my gear is medium armour while i just started the character a hour before writing this, the my what i have unlocked works well the skills i will be using are Engulfing dragon fire and magika morph of searing strike for healing wing buffet moltan whip and magma fist the unmorphed ones i am going to consider when i unlock and morph them though once i max level the character i will swap wing buffet for inferno.

i am open for suggestions on any other abilities i maybe overlooking that may enhance the playstyle for the stamina magika hybrid DK. this is a single bar build

Hey guys I Need Gold to Upgrade my gear and im Doing archive to have a Balance between fun and farming Gold but is there a more effective way? Archive runs Cost me hours for not so much gold i think?

With population density being what it is, and having grained out Scrying to level 7 and got 3/5 of the Oakensoul pieces I find myself at the Volcanic Vents.

How on earth am I supposed to do this solo? There is literally nobody in the Zone? My guild - apparently numbering in the hundreds - are nowhere to be seen.

So how on earth am I to get Oakensoul?

Sheogorath's idiotic Last Laugh. Trying to complete the final mission on this 6 part grind.

It's literally like there is an invisible barrier blocking my character from jumping to the next step after the very first step! Like an invisible occlusion wall of some sort. So can't pull the damned lever to achieve the final objective to reach Maddy. WTF gives on this damned thing??

Is there an alternative way to access the level? Or an in game code I can enter to force an end to this meaningless quest. So I can finally get the stupid 1000 tome points credit ZoS insists on forcing me to endlessly grind for on this questline??? WTH WONT THIS DAMNED THING WORK????l

Played against the NPC Gideesh in Vivec, it was the decks: Crows, Hunding, Hlaalu, and Red Eagle.
They didnt buy a single card and ended their turn with 15 prestige every single time. i lost the game in 3 turns. What the !@#$??? Has anyone else experienced this before?

I've been doing all 3 of these free-runner tasks per day, over 10 characters, for weeks. I haven't found even one key. I feel like I'm the victim of a fraud or a cosmic joke.

The only key I found was in a thieves box somewhere. I got killed by a guard who stole it before I could launder it. LoL.

What am I missing here? What is the point of it? Are they even worth grinding and am I grinding the wrong way. I've also robbed a lot of safe-boxes but that isn't working.

I don't know what to do with them anyway. Am I wasting my life farming crap and getting no crap anyway? This game is really starting to pi55 me off.

Okay so I’m sure there are a thousand things wrong with my character but I am looking to enhance her to be as strong as she can be. I mostly play solo but I’d like to get stronger for pvp play as well.

I do not know what my DPS is and most of my champion points are in critical chance and Magika damage.

The build I have currently I followed mostly from someone online but I don’t remember who. I changed some things to better fit my gameplay style, I like being crowd control so the AOE abilities are my comfort zone.

Any advice is appreciated. If you use game lingo or abbreviations please explain them cuz it is a language I’ve not yet learned fully. Thank you!

I did Imperial Prison for the first time and had a blast. Wanted to buy or exchange my pieces that were from other sets for the tanking set "Leeching plate" with the others and they never said anything back for the whole run and then all left.

I'm confused because the gears' blue arrows icon say we can trade them amongst us party members?

Please don't mind this question if it seems like a no-brainer to you - I just started not long ago so I really don't know.
