AI usage
How much is too much? My weekly usage of ChatGPT and Codex is around $40. Is that too high?

Depends on your role, for a developer using codex heavily 40 is probably on the lower end of usage, for someone in a PM role not needing to generate much code it is probably high.

R&d, work of like 4 ppl, I'm tech lead and at this point, I'm having to deliver 1 year project in like 3 months.. so yea.. got to get those agents working in parallel,.design, code, test... it's like having bunch of IC1s under me

does that work ? Even in single line workflow i see that You need to control the agent. I cant imagine to run multi agent flow ....

I do the same. It works because while one chat session is working on a design, the other chat session is working on the code, another chat session is diagnosing a failure, and another chat session is upgrading a dependency and fixing the code. I feel like have a bunch of IC1s under me, too. I am constantly switching between projects and telling the junior programmers what they need to do better.

Sorry for the confusion. These are sessions inside the ChatGPT desktop app using Codex mode. Each session has an agent that spawns sub-agents.

Yep, same as what fragrant mentioned. It's multiple chat threads, each one spawns it's own sub agents as required. Due to the complexity of my existing codebase, i use graph db + obsidian as knowledge base + truth grounding for these agents. Btw, these agents are never really trustable, so i do monitor them constantly, have to look at what their thought process are and steer it as required. I have a skill called under engineer to deal with over engineering of sol + some core agent instructions. And for code review agents, it's bunch of subagents with different hats who review it.. so yea, stuff like that

I’m at $70/wk for the last 5 weeks. We have usage limits in my org so there isn’t a too much. You just run out of credits
