Serious Replies Only Starting over from scratch

I'm in paramedic school, and the title states exactly what I'm considering as far as paramedic school is concerned. I need thoughts, opinions, pros, cons, etc. I'm legitimately considering quitting my current paramedic school and starting over at a different program.

You’ve given no context as to why you want to start over? Seems silly to me to start over

Because it's a two hour drive one way, getting clinicals anywhere outside of the school's locality is like pulling teeth despite respectful requests to do so and explanations why, and only one instructor for my program actually gives a shit about facilitating the students' learning. Those are just the things that won't doxx me.

I'm supposed to finish in December. I am a last semester student. But the final straw was that the ambulance service I had planned on doing internships at was apparently not approved, so now my instructor wants me to drive two hours one way to a service that's local, and I honestly can't do that in a logistically feasible way. And I'm honest to God just worn out from the whole thing

Gonna be honest here friend, it’s 4 months. I get being tired, I understand frustration but do you want to go back through what I assume is atleast a year? I’m speaking from experience as well as I’m doing this in my nursing class right now. School is 1.5 hours away and my clinicals are 1-2 hours away depending where I’m at. I have one semester in the spring left, no way I’d start over personally.

I quit medic school right at the start of capstone due to some severe burnout I was experiencing at the time. Had I not quit, I’d have 2 years as a medic under my belt. I kick myself in the ass every now and then because of it (mostly for the lack of raise that would’ve come with the patch).

Tough it out for four more months.

I was 95min 1 way, 11mo program. Most of my clinicals were 2-3hrs away. It wasn't a ton of fun driving that much but its all about how bad you want to get it done.

Most of the folks in my cohort were 90min+, a good friend of mine was over 3hrs away and would leave early, park his car at the college and sleep before class.

Bailing when you're done in December rather than just sucking it up and grinding it out would be a crazy waste of money.

By all means start over, stay out of the front line decision making tree for a while longer.

Tldr version: I can't afford the commute anymore or deal with their constant mindset of "No other localities or ambulance services only this one."

Maybe worth booking a hotel for a couple days in the area so you don’t have to drive back and forth? It is only 3-4 months left, you’re getting close to the end of

Tough it out. Our ancestors went to war. Worked on whaling ships for two years straight. Took one way trips across the Atlantic to the US to start new lives. You can survive this and you’ll be glad you did.
