currently Teknoparrot is the only good and accessible modern arcade "emulator", its not much of a emulator its more like a compatibility layer since most modern arcade titles run in a modern pc build but anyways.
the Teknoparrot team is absolute shit, they paywall for basic game functionality like SAVING and SCORES, not for online but offline, they say that they need the online connection to make some card services available is a lie, there was a guy on there discord that proved the contrary, but they don't care.
they also paywall new game realeses they say that its for beta testing but the simpsons bowling game they held up for months was reported as perfect contidition by most people that played it.
they use excessively AI Art and they use Ai to cut corners in development that always makes some bullshit visual bug, and the worst if you criticize them God have mercy on you because your going to get attacked by a bunch of people that actively defend the guy like if he's a sort of messiah of arcade games.
Someone needs to make a TP alternative, and please make it OPEN SOURCE.

If you spend any decent amount of time emulating mobile games on PC, you know how hard it is to get honest performance numbers. Vendor benchmark claims are usually cherry-picked, and random YouTube reviews rarely test across multiple hardware setups.
I decided to run a clean side-by-side test comparing BlueStacks 5 against LDPlayer 9 across three different PC configurations: Intel integrated graphics, mid-range AMD, and an NVIDIA system to see which one actually holds up under real benchmarks and gameplay.
The Test Rigs & Settings
| Machine | GPU Platform | RAM | Emulators |
|---|---|---|---|
| MI8 | Intel graphics system | 8 GB | BlueStacks 5 / LDPlayer 9 |
| MA11 | AMD graphics system | 16 GB | BlueStacks 5 / LDPlayer 9 |
| MN12 | NVIDIA graphics system | 16 GB | BlueStacks 5 / LDPlayer 9 |
BlueStacks 5 setup: 4 cores, 3,072 MB or 4 GB RAM, Vulkan & OpenGL, 1600×900, 240 DPI, Balanced mode. LDPlayer settings varied by machine, including 4-6 cores and 3,072 MB 6 GB RAM, at 1600×900 and 240 DPI.
Geekbench Performance (CPU & Graphics)
Since mobile games rely heavily on single-core CPU speed for smooth frame pacing and input response, single-core numbers matter much more than multi-core bloat.
| Machine | BS5 Single | LD Single | BS5 Multi | LD Multi | BS5 Vulkan | LD Vulkan |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intel / MI8 | 1,244.67 | 843.33 | 3,051.00 | 2,152.33 | 4,152.67 | 4,120.67 |
| NVIDIA / MN12 | 784.33 | 519.33 | 2,296.67 | 2,107.67 | 43,712.67 | 32,879.00 |
| AMD / MA11 | 1,181.33 | 919.33 | 3,456.67 | 3,638.00 | — | — |
AnTuTu Scores & Low-Spec Stability
NVIDIA system
| Metric | BlueStacks 5 | LDPlayer 9 |
|---|---|---|
| Total | 1,056,129 | 1,014,049 |
| CPU | 130,749 | 135,287.67 |
| GPU | 750,958.33 | 721,006 |
| MEM | 98,844.33 | 76,859.33 |
| UX | 73,381 | 78,478.67 |
AMD system
| Metric | BlueStacks 5 | LDPlayer 9 |
|---|---|---|
| Total | 1,351,226 | 1,266,908.67 |
| CPU | 207,011.33 | 199,691 |
| GPU | 905,522.33 | 855,859.67 |
| MEM | 149,645 | 117,673.33 |
| UX | 94,211.67 | 80,343.33 |
The AnTuTu memory benchmark shows a massive gap here. BlueStacks posted roughly 29% higher memory performance on NVIDIA and 27% higher on AMD.
What makes this interesting is that on the 16GB systems, BlueStacks was set to 4 Cores / 4 GB RAM while LDPlayer was given 6 Cores / 6 GB RAM. Despite running on less allocated memory, BlueStacks consistently processed memory tasks faster, showing it’s actually using system RAM more efficiently rather than just hogging more of it.
On the 8GB Intel budget machine, this difference showed up in stability: BlueStacks ran clean passes on a 3GB - 4GB allocation, whereas LDPlayer froze and got stuck during execution.
Real-World Gaming (FPS & Frame Pacing)
The Takeaway
LDPlayer 9 isn't bad, if you’re running multiple low-resource idle instances on an AMD setup, its multi-core performance holds up well.
However, the biggest takeaway from this test was resource handling. BlueStacks posted noticeably higher AnTuTu MEM scores, about 29% higher on NVIDIA and 27% higher on AMD. It is simply using memory more efficiently, not just grabbing more of it from your system.
This matters most if you're on a budget or lower-spec machine. On the 8GB Intel system, BlueStacks ran much cleaner despite running on a smaller 3GB - 4GB footprint versus LDPlayer's heavier resource draw, and it still came out ahead in raw benchmarks.
Doing more with less RAM makes BlueStacks the better pick when you want to keep memory free for Windows, Discord, or browser tabs in the background.
Curious what numbers you guys get on your own setups, anyone running similar specs seeing different results?

I have a Nintendo DSi that is already modded, and I was wondering if there’s any way to install a Nintendo 64 emulator on it and run The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
I know the DSi is pretty limited hardware-wise, so I’m not sure if N64 emulation is even possible on it. If it is, how well does it run, and are there any specific emulators or setups that would work?
Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!

Hi there. I was eating a cookie while playing with my dog when I thought, "Why isn't there an emulator dedicated specifically to the Wii?" I mean, I know Dolphin exists and is already a very advanced emulator, but an emulator dedicated solely to the Wii could offer advantages like Wii-specific optimization, new hacks without the risk of breaking shared code, and better support for Wii Remotes and accessories. Plus, by having dedicated optimization and no shared code, it could receive more frequent updates and run better on modest hardware—just imagine playing Dragon Ball Tenkaichi 3 on a dual-core system with 2GB of RAM. Anyway, I don't know—what do you guys think of this idea I had?

do switch 2 joycons work with dolphin. I already use a pair of switch 1 joycons with wii games and they work great and the motion is seen natively with no 3rd party apps. a friend of mine wants to join in the fun and we found a good deal on a pair of switch 2 but we are realizing they might not be compatible so i thought I'd ask. i saw no videos or posts talking about it anywhere

What solutions exist for a very user friendly emulation box that I can connect to a TV for a 10 year old to play. Looking to curate a list of NES/SNES era roms and it has to be pick up and play with an easy front end, no mouse or keyboard required.

Hi everyone! I’m trying to set up, for example [Red Dead Redemption:
Game of the Year Edition (Red Dead Redemption
Single Player)] on Xenia, but the download came as two separate discs.
Could someone walk me through the correct setup process?

Hello, some time ago I installed one emulator of either GB or GBC (I don't remember which) that automatically had bezel for my games, any idea which could have been? I am on linux
Edit: nevermind, just discovered that super gameboy is a thing

I'm not super into emulation but I wanted to try out Prisoner, couldn't find anyone hosting it online so I'm now trying to emulate it myself. Using AppleWin, I've followed exactly what I need to do to load it up, and it just doesn't work and prints gibberish to the screen.
What's the best course of action? Are the images I'm finding just bad? What's the best way to emulate apple 2 games? (which seems to be ".do", at least that's what I have)
I've only ever emulated old xbox and ps games and it was much easier than this lol

I want to use my save files from when I played on the 3DS to run on Azahar. What few tutorials I've been able to find do match up with each other or on my end. Can someone please point me to a guide or something?

I wanted to start using gba emulator but I just didn't know which one I should use can you tell me the best one that would pair with the digic show front end

I own an Ayn Odin 3 for emulation, I can handle harder to run things like the Switch and 360. So pretty much any console recommendations are welcome.
Ideally recommendations that cannot be played on PC or run better emulated. Since I can just play those through game native.
I'm a zoomer so exceedingly old games pre fifth generation I'll be totally honest, not waste your time and say I might not try them but I'm open to being convinced.

I am trying to play Metroid Prime Remastered on Ryujinx Canary 1.3.351
I searched for other threads talking about it and they all say to just update, but I still keep getting it loading with the textures on Samus, Samus' ship, and other random elements being dark. It does kind of look cool on Samus, but I'd like the textures to load correctly.
