Suppressor advice?

I'm new to supressors as a whole, I've recently picked up an ep9 and was basically wondering about anyone's experiences with their own suppressed builds. Any and all advice is welcome. Apologies if this isn't the correct thread

YHM R9 is a tried and true one. Maybe a little gassy as it’s an older one, but dam does it do a good job with suppression!

Honestly one of my favorite parts is how chunky it is. Makes for a very pleasing semi tucked look as well as suppressing the hell out of some subs. Now apparently I need to get a handguard with a pic delete as I made the mistake of looking up some pictures.

I’m running Yankee hill r9. No real complaints when it comes to gas, even as a lefty.

Yeah honestly to hear people talk about it the r9 rolls coal like a diesel motor but idk I had no issues with it.

If you shoot outside, don't care about extra gas, and/or want the quietest can possible get the YHM R9.

If you shoot inside or are sensitive to gas, get the HUXWRX Flow 9k Ti.

I went with the HUXWRX Flow 9k Ti. I would much rather have a more pleasant shooting experience for something I'm going to shoot thousands of rounds through than have something quieter that I will never shoot without hearing protection anyway.

Huxwrx Flow 9 Ti on mine and it's fantastic. No gas but also not the absolute quietest can either.

inner diameter with kn handguard is bigger than stock. kn can fit up to 1.8 inch OD cans

Oh nice alright.

Just ordered it. I like a c clamp grip and my one gripe about thr ep9 is that its much harder to do with that top picatinny section. Being able to push my support arm put further will be nice too, closer to my AR.

You'll be happy with it, it's a great modification. IF you don't have some Mlok Pic Rail sitting around and want to mount a light, you'll need one.

Yeah i have the hlx mounted already using its 45ish mloc mount but I need to find a solution to the pressure pad on mlok, its on the top pic rail for now.

yep, same exact setup, Light's on a MagPul 45 offset, pad is on an MLok rail I had sitting around.

Yep ill either get some mlok-pic for my pressure pad mount or if I get crazy I might just ranger band it down, works for my a300 it should work here too.

Also have a Incolite 9 on my EP9 it’s great and I love shooting it
Not to bad on gas but you’ll smell it once you start shooting faster

EP9 with a YHM R45. No issues, runs like a top. Can is old tech, not super fancy 3d-printed sintered flow-through so rapid fire can get a little gassy, but it's not bad. Might be worse if you're a left-handed shooter, or shooting indoors.

Yes it does but I ran into a small issue where my hand brake’s screws were pushing up into the suppressor and I def would’ve had a baffle strike. Just something to watch for, easily fixed with shorter screws.

When people complain about the gas of a suppressor, what are they actually talking about?

Combustion gases and particles escaping back through the port during cycling. Makes for unpleasant shooting as it will burn/sting your eyes and nose, and the gas is carcinogenic.

I put a trilug on my EP9 so it can share the Griffin Bushwhacker 36 with the MAC5. Suppressors are just HUGE upgrades and hopefully soon very available with less ATFing around. Extars love uppressors!

I run an ABRaptor 8 stack and it’s lovely. Great suppression, minimal gas, puts just a bit of weight on the nose to balance the ep9 out. It’s great fun.

Check "pewscience" , they rate cans in what appears to be the most scientific approach of anyone. Also, there will likely be a large shift in getting suppressors come October due to a change from the NFA classification. What that is doing to current and future demand, supply, and costs is something to consider too.
