Radar Model
A recent discussion on the falcon BMS discord got me wondering about how in depth the BMS modeling is. The flight model has tons of various forum posts, Reddit posts, YouTube videos, and articles written by the guy who made it explaining how detailed it is. But I can’t seem to find much in terms of how realistically they modeled the radar. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t use ray tracing like we are coming to expect from the latest DCS modules. But I don’t think that is necessarily required as long as the end result is the same. I guess this comes down to the old emulation vs simulation debate.
But given the insane level of detail the flight model has, does BMS have a detailed radar model to go with it? Does it replicate the proper detection ranges, is RCS modeled, getting lost in ground clutter, etc? Or is kind of just a gods eye view of what’s in front of you and pretty much just shows everything?

Considering this forum is public?
Sure, why not.
Yep, that's discussed in some detail in some of the older docs... I feel like the BMS 2.0 manual might have mentioned that?
Yep, modelled.
Not remotely close to this. Try DCS for that sort of modelling.
