What Do You Actually Want From Pyro Apparel?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’ve been around fireworks and working in the field for over 30 years. For the past year, I’ve also been building a pyro lifestyle brand specifically for the pyro community.

Part of the reason I started is that, in my personal opinion, much of the pyro apparel currently available just isn’t something I would ever wear.
A lot of it seems to be the same “If I run, try to keep up” type of sayings, crude jokes you probably wouldn’t wear in front of your mother or designs that don’t make much sense even to us in the pyro community.

There’s nothing wrong with that style if it’s what you enjoy, but I believe there’s room for something different, quality pyro apparel that represents the culture, crews, families and us behind the shows, something we would feel comfortable wearing both in the field and around town.

Before everything goes live, I’d like some honest input from the people who actually live the pyro life.

When you’re working in the field, what matters most in a shirt or hat? Comfort, breathable material, darker colors, durability, identifying your role on the crew or something else?

Away from the field, what kind of pyro apparel would you actually wear around town, out to dinner or on a normal day out in the garage? Do you prefer something bold that clearly represents fireworks or a cleaner design that only other pyro people would immediately recognize?

This isn’t a sales post. I’m genuinely interested in what the community wants and what you’re tired of seeing in typical fireworks apparel.

What would make you actually wear it regularly, both in the field and away from it?

Strobe / screaming rockets

Watching YouTube videos, there are plenty of videos which show these amazing flashing bottle rockets which will make all kinds of ungodly noises.

I must have those in my life

Who sells such an amazing product?

Reliable and best priced online company for cases/cheapest price

for new years 2027 trying to see what to go with, I see American wholesale mentioned a lot

The other ones I have seen are 76fireworks, pyrogiant, little js fireworks, badaboom fireworks.

My budget will be $2,000 just looking to see where I can get my most bang for buck.

From adding multiple things to carts and getting pricing ideas, so far I feel like pyrogiant might be it, but I have never ordered fireworks online just looking for feedback

Shipping Container Type 4 Magazine

Pretty simple question hopefully. What have people used to lock their shipping container to meet ATF requirements for a type 4 magazine? Looking for experience from people who actually have a certified type 4 magazine. Some pictures and product links (if applicable) would be great. And yes, I know the regulations are published online - I’ve read them. I’m just wondering what others have done that meets the regulation (specifically as it relates to a metal hood that protects the lock). Is it something homemade? Are there commercially available products that you like that work well? TIA. I’ve not found a good clear answer to this or really any real world examples in my searching on Reddit, YouTube, or just generally online.

Question Flare gun questions. Not sure where to ask.

Hello.

I have a similar to the above AN-M8 flare gun.

I have function tested it and it will seat modern 37mm flares. I will only ever shoot aluminum hulled rounds.

Will a flare that is longer than the barrel be safe to fire? The action will fully seat, and the hull is aluminum.

Theoretically I think I should be safe with eye protection and a thick leather glove. The explosion would all be contained inside of the hull, right?

Any thoughts? Am I going to blow myself up?

Thanks.

Fireworks in WV

Hello. I am currently living in Indiana so where I am from I can get some pretty nice stuff fo a pretty good deal. But, I am moving to WV by the end of this month for work I should be there for about 6 months to a year. So if anyone who’s been there or know how it is are there any decently priced stores? Are OLs common? I’m going to be honest I’m writing this right now and I don’t even know if fireworks are legal in the state but i assume that they are moving has just been a spur of the moment kinda thing.

Would a 300 shot 1/1 have 1 inch tubes or smaller?

Just curious to the tube size and break height of a large 1/1 cake. Would they still be larger tubes or i imagine they would have to be smaller tubes with smaller shots to fit so many shots in a single box, even if the box is very large and heavy..

Question toxic smoke from fireworks

Does anyone have health issues from breathing fireworks fallout? Like from shows with all the debris falling down onto the audience. I asked Google and learned that it is very bad for your lungs and causes cancer.

Question Band kids

For folks that like the timing and display of firing fireworks, were you in band? I was a band kid from elementary to high school. I was watching a display on YouTube and noticed what was a “mistake” and it reminded me of marching band when we make a “mistake” a majority of audience doesn’t know. Just curious 🤷🏾‍♂️

Looking for some outside feedback on a show.

I did a show in my backyard on Memorial day 2026. It was my 6th show since I started shooting fireworks on 4th July 2025. So it's far from perfect and has some time delays between. It's all 1.4g stuff.

And I'd like to get a 2nd opinion on it from you guys & gals. Because I watch other peoples shows on youtube and I really do not get excited. But I just watched my show for the 1st time in 2 months and it gave me such a kick of enjoyment. So I'm wondering if it's because I'm bias or what? I just think it has character and some awesome moments. Please give me an honest feedback.
Here's the link to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SDxe7EyprQ&t=185s
