Hate to break it to you, but Python is absolutely good enough for production.
I've written production applications putting through over 10 million in annual revenue entirely in Python. It's a money maker and the simplicity in development, support, and deployment has saved my company hundreds of thousands in developer salaries.
I like the quote "Python is the second best language for everything". That makes it very valuable for companies which do a wide variety of things.
