I just watch a lot of YouTube comparing. Not sure if there is a sub reddit. I got away from the big ass roto molded coolers like RTIC and Yeti. I bought an Oyster Tempo. It's way more manageable. It's not for everyone(price) but I justified by selling all my old ones and some other crap I had in my garage that I wasn't using. It's a great road trip, two to three day car camping trip cooler. Not big enough if your power goes out and need to empty your fridge though.

Oh and I have way too many flashlights that I don't need.

I'd been eyeballing an Oyster for 3 night camps and the occasional "bring stuff back from this specific ice cream place" kind of trip.

It's expensive, but worth it IMO. I love that I can carry it with one hand or the shoulder strap. It carries and keeps cold out road trip snacks without ice. I love it and I don't care that it cost $500. I bought it at REI, so if you are a co-op member you get 10% back in your account (in store credit). My wife is even on board with it. It's great for the jobs you are describing. Watch some YouTube about it just to make sure.

I think I'd like to be a cooler enthusiast but I just don't see the point lol.

I have three I've had for like 13 years. All pretty much the cheapest things you can find on Amazon. Even my powered one.

Not a bad problem to have I guess. But since flashlights actually have an output that does something different between each of mine. I keep buying more.

power outage use to be fun times and very long when i was young, gazing at the candle, telling ghost stories, etc...

now it only happens when i want to sleep, in the hot and humid weather... man it should at least happen sooner so i can shine around xD

We used to be able to tell with basically 100% when we'd get a power outage, it happened every single time it was hotter than, like, 27°C at night.

Fortunately they fixed the grid and nowadays they only happen sometimes when it's very windy.
