I am definitely not conservative but I wanted to provide different views.

I hear/read different things on how much you need to make to live comfortably in Fredericksburg. Fredericksburg is in a weird spot in that some consider it northern Virginia and some don’t. Lots of commuters to DC and up north to richer parts of Virginia. It’s more expensive to live here because of those reasons, I believe. Would it be considered a hcol area? Average? Definitely not low, I know that much.

So how much to you reasonably need to make to live in Fredericksburg and live comfortably? Think the 50/30/20 rule, roughly.

A feral unfixed mother cat with her 3 4 kittens has moved into my backyard! I was wondering if anyone knew of any groups would be willing to help get her TNR'd and the kittens into foster homes or other shelters. Would like to get everyone safe & sound before the weather starts to get colder in the next few months.

The ones off 17 at Wawa…They look to be done with construction for weeks now but they are not open everyday I drive by. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm planning a canoe camping trip to the paddle-in campground at Caledon State Park and am trying to figure out the best place to launch.

Caledon doesn't have a boat ramp, so I'm looking for somewhere nearby on the Potomac where I can:

• Launch a canoe

• Legally leave one truck for two nights

• Paddle to the Caledon/Jones Pond campground

• Return to the same launch afterward

I'm aware of Widewater State Park, but that's a pretty long paddle to Caledon. I'm hoping there's something closer, possibly around Fairview Beach or elsewhere nearby.

Has anyone actually done this trip or know of a public launch, marina, private campground, or other river access that allows overnight parking?

I’m honestly at the point where I’m getting pretty desperate to find a job. I’ve been applying to so many places and putting in applications, but I’m having such a hard time actually hearing back or getting an interview.
I’m willing to work and I genuinely WANT to work. I’m dependable, I learn quickly, and I’m open to different types of jobs. I have experience with customer service, front desk/receptionist work, medical office work, retail, and fast food, but I’m also willing to try something new if someone is willing to give me an opportunity.
At this point, I’m looking for any legitimate job that is hiring and actually needs people. If anyone knows of a business that is urgently hiring, somewhere I could walk in and apply, a manager I could contact directly, or even a place where you personally know they need employees, PLEASE let me know.
I’m especially interested in receptionist/front desk, medical office, customer service, retail, hotel, administrative/office, or similar positions, but I’m open to other options too.
I’ve been searching Indeed and other job sites constantly, so I’m hoping maybe someone here knows about places that don’t advertise as much online or could point me in the right direction.

Just wondering if anybody had recommendations of a window tint vendor in Fredericksburg. I visited a few places but I'm not sure I can tell the difference between them.

I'm looking to have all my windows done including the moonroof with the ceramic tint at a medium darkness. I'm not too worried about the cost but obviously I'm not trying to give away money. At the same time, I'm not trying to get all my windows done for 200 bucks. I know that would be a sour deal. Estimating around 1k for the full car.

I’m looking to start doing some kayak fishing on the Rappahannock and was hoping to get some recommendations from people who fish it regularly.

Where are some good places to launch a fishing kayak, particularly on the tidal section from around Fredericksburg/Port Royal down toward Tappahannock?

I’ve seen a few launches on the map, but I’d rather hear from people who have actually used them. Ideally looking for somewhere with decent parking and an easy kayak launch where I can put in and fish without having to do a long point-to-point float.

Also, how is the fishing as you get closer to Tappahannock? I’m mainly interested in bass, stripers, perch and anything else that’s fun to target from a kayak. I wouldn’t mind getting into some blue cats either.

Any particular stretches, creeks, launches, tides, or times of year you’d recommend? I’m comfortable on bigger water, but obviously want to be smart about current, wind and boat traffic on the lower river.
