I’ve been working on a free chess website called BotGambit where you play against bots with weird rules.

Some bots get stronger after captures, lose Elo every move, become stronger when you check them, or completely change strength depending on what happens during the game.

You can also create your own bots with custom rules and publish them for other people to play.

There’s no download required, and you can play without making an account.

Would love to hear any ideas for weird bot mechanics I should add.

I made a little daily game called Baffle where you get shown some strange object from a museum collection and have to figure out what it actually is.

Some of them are surprisingly obvious. Some look like an alien artifact.

You can type a normal description instead of knowing the exact museum name for it, which makes it a lot less frustrating.

Hello guys!! My bf just made a pixel RPG where you descend into caves, collect pets, fishing, grind as a merchant, all super fast-paced despite being turn-based. It’s reaally really fun and! Cozy.

I have been working on a roguelike RPG you can play for free in your browser with no ads or sign up required. I would love for some people to try it and give their feedback!

It is a very simple game where you pick from 1 of 8 classes and battle through a series of monsters to get as far as you can. The combat is turn based with mechanics that are loosely based on DnD 5E and there is a dynamic Diablo style loot system to support a variety of different builds.

This game was originally made for the 2026 Big Mode Game Jam, but we've released a free version on Steam with some additional interactions and a leaderboard. The Story Mode can be completed in around 15ish minutes, and the endless mode is good fun to try and climb the leaderboards. Feel free to check it out!

TLDR: I made a janky cow 3D action game as a first project, tried to release it as a paid game, struggled to get traction, realized it was crazy to try to do that so early in my dev journey, now its up for free for cow enthusiasts.

Long Story: I made Cow Escape game to learn game development and the process of releasing a game on Steam. Having previously completed a total of 2 weeks of Unity tutorials and having no visual art background, I downloaded UE5, and many Youtube tutorials later, Abattoir: Cow Escape came out (march this year). It sold a couple copies and I am very happy a few people (40 or so real sales) bought and enjoyed the game but in retrospect I feel that this project better suits joining the annals of free games for people who like niche experiences. It was originally intended to be thrown up on Itch as a portfolio piece/experiment but expanded its feature set until it felt like maybe it could fetch a few dollars. Frankly, I was tempted by the sweet smell of indie profits, which I believed came out of thin air, in a lottery system. Also, I genuinely wanted to see what it was like releasing a paid game, even if it wasn't likely to sell much. My experience was that competition is steep and 'good enough' is not good enough unless you are really making something people have been begging for.

So, after learning from the experience, its found its place on Itch, and its free on Steam too. There is still a premium DLC available on Steam if anyone wants some custom Cow Armour. I am not dropping that to free as the asset cost a lot to get made lol - it is by far the biggest expense of making the project. It was dumb to commission it, but it was pretty funny in the end. 

My next projects are awhile off and will take a different tact,, but Cow Escape and my other game LOTT have been cool experiences and are now both free forever, until the sands of time make them completely unplayable.
