Best souls hub for sure! I could sit and listen to the music for hours lol The og ps3 nexus is a close second. Ik they are the same between remake and OG but I find the OG to have more charm ig? lol

They are absolutely not the same. Remake took so many creative liberties that missed the mark. I'm fully convinced their poor recreation eventually got back to them down the pipeline and was part of the reason they were shut down. Even Miyazaki told them hell no when they offered to remake Bloodborne.
Serves em right. You don't take a masterpiece and paint all over it without permission. That's fucking weird.

Oh yeah, I know they’re not the same as an audio and visual cues and stuff like that. I just pretty much meant the layout of the Nexus, but you’re right that is why I prefer the original. I have hundreds of hours in the original but on the remake I’ve only got about seven hours lol

The original you can emulate with RPCS3 and use updated 4k texture pack and lighting overhaul, makes it look about as good as DS3.
Fromsoftserve has gone out of his way to make packs for the original to make it just as good or better than the remake, and you get to keep all the charm while you're at it

I never even thought about doing that on my PC every time I wanted to play I just loaded it up on my PS3 lol I do emulate other games on my PC though so I might try that soon

I said "fromsoftserve." He's a massive mod creator for every FromSoft game that can be played in some form or fashion on PC. He has a YouTube channel and makes regular forum posts documenting and showcasing his mods.

FromSoft didn't even bother with the broken archstone. Demon's Souls is my favorite game and it didn't get any dlc either, so yeah FromSoft doesn't really care about it anymore.

I know FROM basically abandoned it, but that's where fromsoftserve comes in. DeS original is a great game, and he's doing a lot to bring back its glory.

Ikr, Majula looks so amazing! As long as you stand in that one spot and face the camera towards the sea, so you’re actively looking away from the supposedly good looking hub, it’s definitely so very beautiful and unmatched 😍

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only DS2 fan who doesn't care for Majula at all. The actual hub looks boring and even the view is just fine to me.
I feel like the visuals just in general are one of my biggest pet peeves about DS2. Almost everything looks unappealing. Most areas, enemies, bosses and weapons don't excite me at all visually. There are some exceptions, but they are too few and far between.
The armors are pretty great, though, I will give it that.

Eh, I wouldn't say atrocious, more like painfully mediocre. When I think ugly I think of something like Lost Izalith, specifically the surrounding area which is just lava and dragon butts. And I do think it has some good areas like Heidi's tower or Shulva. It's just that the majority are boring to look at IMO, which is a shame because otherwise I do find a lot of them fun to explore.

Dark Souls 2 will always have a special place in my heart because, and no shade to dark souls 1, but Majula and it's music made me feel safe and welcome in ways Firelink Shrine did not. The track that plays in Majula is simply magical.

Dark Souls 2 is my favorite piece of art to come out of the industrial revolution. It's interesting to think about how it might have made, say, Voltaire feel at the time of its release.

I just started DS2 in earnest this summer. Juggling playthrough between a couple other games. I have been having fun getting used to its bullshit lol. I also have no hype whatsoever for gta 6. I look at it as the harbinger for death for physical media in gaming and affordable AAA game pricing schemes.

It took me years to complete RDR2, just because I got so sick of riding a horse I stopped playing just before the end (After doing all side-content). It just wore me down, so I can imagine there could be something in GTA6 that fatigues people too.
I'm very glad I went back when I did though, after the open world game sickness was over. Elden Ring really gave them a chance again, in my eyes. One day I'll go back to finish Tsushima (maybe halfway), Horizon 1 (stopped an hour in), and mayybe Dying Light 1, but also maybe not.
