The complete fromsoftware collection on switch

Post image

As of right now (until duskbloods is released) i own every single fromsoftware game available on Nintendos platform. Its been a long and hard journey getting to this point, and I like to take this time to thank all the little people I had to step on to get here. If I can do it.. so can you. It just takes a lot of heart, grit and determination

They could easily port the full Dark Souls trilogy to Switch 2, I’m surprised they haven’t done so already

146

u/Lostkeysss 2d ago

Im still holding out hope that they will.

51

u/Clawez 2d ago

They’ll probably wait for the official remasters of 2 and 3

64

u/_Dank_Souls 2d ago

Then it'll never happen

63

u/BigCommieMachine 2d ago

Right after the Sekiro port.

34

u/BobbyHill751 2d ago

About as likely as a Bloodborne port.

7

u/Combat_Orca 2d ago

About 10000 times less likely than anything else mentioned

5

u/gtarpey89 2d ago

I expect Bloodborne will get a remaster or remake but it’ll still be Sony exclusive. Sony knows what they have and they’ll pay however much it costs to keep it that way

1

u/sarcophagusGravelord 1d ago

I don’t know if they do considering it’s been over a decade. The most they’ve done with the IP recently is threaten to sue the devs of Bloodborne Kart lmao.

We can see Miyazaki & From still have tons of great ideas for a gothic/victorian blood-themed setting but they’re all going into Duskbloods now

10

u/Clawez 2d ago

Ds2 is a 12 year old game and ds3 is a 10 year old game. Remasters would not be surprising considering dark souls remastered released seven years after its original release.

1

u/SecurityPositive4865 1d ago

but it wasn't playable on PS4 (I think Xbox one was backwards compatible) and the original pc port was terrible without mods so it makes sense they did it. now it can be played on PS5 and Xbox series so it's not needed as much

3

u/uniguy2I Bloodborne 2d ago

Wasn’t there a post saying DS3 remastered was being worked on? Was that just an unconfirmed rumour or?

4

u/itzjabohy 2d ago

I thought it was just a rumour

1

u/Fluid-Comparison-729 2d ago

You mean remakes supposedly that is what’s coming ds2 already had a remaster technically

1

u/judgeraw00 4h ago

There have been rumors of a Dark Souls 3 remaster or something for a while so maybe 🤔

19

u/KineticKris 2d ago

I’m sure it’s coming.

48

u/ironpug751 2d ago

It’ll happen right after they port bloodborne to PC

7

u/rdarnell26 2d ago

And that’ll happen right after they give us that 60fps patch for consoles

5

u/Ahery_0829 2d ago

Imagine bloodborne on switch 2 before pc port. Will never happen since it's an exclusive, but it would be mad funny

3

u/andys811 2d ago

Copiun

12

u/Arikaido777 2d ago

any day now

3

u/LookAtMyAssItBurns 2d ago

... I will hear you say "Goodbye, my love"

-1

u/conye-west 2d ago

Yea but probably not for at least a year or more. Don't want to step on their own toes too much with Elden Ring and Duskbloods this year.

11

u/TheBestUserName01 Chosen Undead 2d ago

I think they didn't want to take away the attention from the Elden Ring port.

3

u/Lostkeysss 2d ago

I think so too. If a ds collection does come ro switch 2 it would prolly be well after duskbloods and right b4 a new title.

5

u/BagofSocks 2d ago

This would be a game changer for me. I already carried a switch lite around for years just for Dark Souls on the switch 1.

3

u/AcrobaticProgram6521 2d ago

I actually prefer dark souls on switch lite than I do on switch 2, looks better to my eye for some reason

3

u/osc_bank 1d ago

Have you enabled handheld Boost Mode for Switch 1 games in your Switch 2 settings? It makes a big difference. Basically makes switch 1 games run in their docked modes even when portable on switch 2

1

u/AcrobaticProgram6521 1d ago

Yeah I did and I love it but for some reason I still think it looks better on the lite

4

u/somesketchykid 2d ago

Said this in another thread already but again, with how much fun im having with Elden Ring Switch2 release, I will absolutely buy every port they bring over day 1

The multiplayer activity has been absolutely insane, its been so amazing

4

u/eat-skate-masturbate 2d ago

man I hope they do. I want ds2 so bad. might be bc of the physical edition costing too much to print 3 carts idk.

3

u/AnythingOpening2031 2d ago

Fingers crossed

3

u/9yr_old_lake 2d ago

They should port bloodborne to the Switch 2, but nowhere else just piss everybody off.

3

u/Combat_Orca 2d ago

They could put sekiro on there as well and probs AC6- they might tbf. Seem to be doing a lot of ports.

2

u/BigCommieMachine 2d ago

With that level of cope, I am waiting on the Sekiro port.

2

u/Inksplash-7 2d ago

Or even Switch 1, if they properly adjust DS3. DS2 might theoretically run since it was on Xbox 360 and PS3

2

u/re1nteraminense 1d ago

Maybe the trilogy remake really is being made by From; then they'll release all three for the S2.

2

u/CobraK21 2d ago

I still want Dark Souls 2 on the switch the most

1

u/Apprehensive-Skirt-7 14h ago

They dont hate switch 2 users that much.

74

u/TheBestUserName01 Chosen Undead 2d ago

Still a shame that Dark Souls has low quality sound. It could be an easy update on the Switch, but for some reason From Software doesn't give a shit.

55

u/Few_Cloud7068 2d ago

Not to blindly defend FS, but they didn’t make that port. It’s still fucking hilarious the sound quality is so low though

20

u/uniguy2I Bloodborne 2d ago

Shitty ports of Dark Souls 1 are as integral to the Soulsborne series as bonfires and estus flasks, it’s probably always gonna be like this lmfao

5

u/Few_Cloud7068 2d ago

As far as I can tell, minus the audio, it’s nowhere NEAR as bad as either the original prepare To Die edition pc port, so at least there’s that

12

u/tehcup 2d ago

Funny enough I never finished the game till I got it for switch. That crunchy ass audio gets me everytime I boot it up again lol.

2

u/mim1kyu- 1d ago

It’s so so funny whenever you roll into obstacles and hear a cacophony of crunch

11

u/Lostkeysss 2d ago

I know. They compressed it so it would fit on a cart right? Could easily be a download patch

16

u/TheBestUserName01 Chosen Undead 2d ago

Exactly. Give us an option to download a High Quality Package digitally or something like that. It would be so easy fix.

3

u/Mind_Axe010 2d ago

Honestly I got used to it

43

u/bruhmoment2247 Bloodborne 2d ago edited 2d ago

Kind of a shame ER is a GKC considering it’s small enough to fit on a real cartridge. Would’ve been a day one buy but I’ll just wait for a sale. $80 for a 4 y/o game and its DLC is a steep asking price, especially considering it isn’t even on the cartridge.

7

u/thickwonga 2d ago

I've heard that a lot of devs have stated that these games tend to run WAY better when it's being ran from the Switch 2 itself, and not the cartridge. I would've loved to see it get a full physical, but if that's true, I don't really blame them.

The Dark Souls Trilogy SHOULD be full physical, no reason why it can't. Even then, a RE Generations style box set for the Trilogy would be an instant buy, even if they were GKC's. ER and the RE pack are the only GKC's I own.

Also, IMO, $80 for the entire package isn't a bad deal considering it's that price on every other platform, and it was probably a massive pain to even port it, if the delays are anything to judge. Only thing that sucks is it won't get sales as often as the other versions will.

3

u/Taolan13 Nerves Concorde 2d ago

this is only true of games that are ports to the switch, and/or have poor data optimization.

The read/write speeds of the og switch's cartridges is comparable to high speed SD cards available at the time, and IIRC the switch's architecture treats the cartridge slot more like an extension of internal storage than a disc drive.

4

u/bruhmoment2247 Bloodborne 2d ago

I get if games run better when installed directly if they were originally made for the ninth gen consoles (PS5, XSX) because they were made with SSDs in mind. But Elden Ring is an eighth gen game, so running it with sub-SSD speeds shouldn’t be a huge issue.

1

u/Lostkeysss 1d ago

I think all this is besides the point. If the game needs to run on internal memory/sd card.. it could still be on the cart and just download it like on all consoles. Nothing runs off the disc.. but For some reason Nintendo doesnt alow it. Which is weird as its portable n you may have it somewhere with no internet.

-1

u/uniguy2I Bloodborne 2d ago

How would a box trilogy set be an instant buy if they’re just game key cards
https://giphy.com/gifs/hzhoutcqNmd3O8UPTH

2

u/Felielf 2d ago

For me the Elden Ring GKC was over 10€ cheaper than digital from eShop, so I went with that. Both are basically a license to load and run the game, other one is physical license you can trade and the other one is completely digital so ownership is locked.

2

u/Sunlit_Neko 2d ago

Wait until you hear about Dark Souls 3's pricing...

2

u/Calm_GBF 2d ago

To be fair it uses to be low. Then Elden Ring's popularity changed everything. Look at DS3 price history on steam pre Elden Ring.

2

u/Soyyyn 2d ago

I mean, on the one hand, games really did use to get cheaper. We used to get those 20 bucks PS2/PS3 classics at the end of the console cycle, or Nintendo Select on Wii and 3DS. But honestly, why would they get cheaper? Games are pieces of art, they don't really age. Elden Ring does something unique, and 4 years haven't really changed its position as one of the greatest games of all time.

2

u/Much_Comfortable_378 2d ago

They do age though. Would you pay full price for a sega genesis game, or atari? Or even a 360 or PS3 game? At some point the price should come down, or at least go on sale every now and then. I was browsing the xbox store yesterday and some of the games that were on sale for 3 bucks last week, older games, are literally priced at 99 bucks now. I literally laughed. It's all scammy business practices now to squeeze every last dime out of the consumer, across every industry. But in the end, it's going all digital now, and we are completely fucked and at the mercy of the publishers.

1

u/Fearless-Sea996 1d ago

Corporate greed.

I would never buy a gkc. If your game is not on the card, why would i buy it ?

-2

u/lost-in-the-trash 2d ago

What else in this world will give you the same value for your time? You'll spend more money not playing it.

7

u/bruhmoment2247 Bloodborne 2d ago

I’ve already been playing it for 4 years on superior hardware. They need to sweeten the deal to get me to double dip.

2

u/uniguy2I Bloodborne 2d ago

Elden Ring glazers are unreal man most of us already have it, only reason for a lot of people to buy it would’ve been SOTE and the new Tarnished Pack on cart but that doesn’t apply to the key card

1

u/bilbo388 1d ago

The key card doesn’t have SoTE? Maaaan I was gonna get it for my bf as a birthday present.

1

u/uniguy2I Bloodborne 1d ago

It does, but it’s not stored on the key card it just lets you download it when you put it in the console

8

u/PerryHecker 2d ago

... lick em😑

5

u/Leafbeard111 2d ago

I was rather hoping we'd get a DS3 remaster or atleast a port since it's been 10 years, but no such luck.

2

u/Many-Researcher-7133 2d ago

I would love ds3 and armored core 6 on the switch 2

2

u/throwaway042502 Lost Kingdoms 1d ago

"every single fromsoftware game available on Nintendos platform"

How about Nintendo's platforms? Fromsoftware put games on the Gamecube, Wii, DS, and 3DS... Tenchu, Lost Kingdoms, Cookie and Cream, to name a few. Are you brave enough to take on the real 100% challenge?

1

u/Lostkeysss 1d ago

Ha. absolutely not. Good catch tho

1

u/lalopig 2d ago

Perfectamente Elden Ring para Switch 2 hubiera entrado en un cartucho de 64gb en lugar de un game Key 😓

1

u/Soulsliken 2d ago

Damn completionists.

1

u/aluminumnek Armored Core 2d ago

And in other news…

1

u/Arcadespirit 2d ago

We need a switch 2 upgrade for DS1!!!

1

u/LovePAWG 2d ago

Sekiro on Switch 2 would be insane!

I would love to get ds2 and 3 on switch, sekiro would honestly probably feel pretty frustrating with the input delay tho ngl

1

u/Panda_Tech_Support 2d ago

Wonder if Amored Core will join that lineup at all?

1

u/Wikiwikiwa 1d ago

Nintendo just doesnt try

1

u/Spiderhog2099 1d ago

The fact that they never did DS2 for the Switch always baffled me. Would've worked just fine.

1

u/edward323ce 1d ago

Bloodborne, demons souls, armored core 1- however many games there are there

1

u/AllIsFine44 1d ago

One is the full game. The other one is just plastic lol

1

u/Incine_Akechi 7h ago

Damn, I used to have the whole collection

1

u/TheOnlyVibemaster 2d ago

The switch 2 game cartridge isn’t a game, it’s a downloadable and revocable license

1

u/Taolan13 Nerves Concorde 2d ago

too bad the cart on the right doesnt actually have any game data on it.

1

u/Akuma12321 2d ago

Sell it and get a Steamdeck <3

2

u/Tiffa_Adil 1d ago

The Steam Deck is weaker than a Switch 2, has a lower resolution screen than a Switch 2, doesn't come with a dock or controller unlike the Switch 2, and yet it costs $300 more than a Switch 2

1

u/LordPhish 1d ago

Why on the switch? It looks and plays better on a 500 dollar PC even in today’s market plus you can get it cheaper then retail through steam or other games sellers.

6

u/Lostkeysss 1d ago

I travel alot. I used to carry around that mini fridge sized ps5, but it became too much of a hassle. So I invested in a switch. This was b4 the pc handheld market blew up. Ive built a substantial digital library since then so its easier to just stick with Nintendos platform, rather than buying an $800 stramdeck or equivalent and starting over. Plus im really ive always been more of a plug n play guy. Max performance isnt all that important to me. As long as it work the way its supposed to.. im good.

1

u/hollowsoul9 1d ago

Such a weak console.

0

u/ZDBlakeII 2d ago

There is actually a Japanese Armored Core release or two I believe. Probably digital only though.

1

u/osc_bank 1d ago

There is not, unfortunately

3

u/ZDBlakeII 1d ago

There are, actually. The first two Mobile Mission games released last year for the Switch.

1

u/osc_bank 1d ago

Well I'll be damned, I did not know about those. Thank your for the knowledge.

0

u/SoritesSeven 2d ago

Just think, they tried to give the corrupt modern day Nintendo an exclusive FS game before they got free money from PC port Bloodborne. I know we all blamed Sony but Sony said they tried and FS didn’t want to.

1

u/Fearless-Sea996 1d ago

Not only FS didnt wanted to, but they also canceled sony project to use blue point to do a full remaster of every soul game like they did with demon souls.

A bloodborn remaster was in the open, but FS made them cancel it, and then sony closed bluepoint because they basically got like 5 years of project canceled by FS.

Its also probably why duskblood is switch exclusive.

1

u/osc_bank 1d ago

None of this shit is true homie

0

u/SoritesSeven 13h ago

There’s an interview with a Sony exec talking about FS not wanting the BB port. There’s also a video of Miyazaki talking about Sony not wanting to or something. Meanwhile bluepoint was waiting for the green light. Just look for those interviews.

-6

u/uchihasilver 2d ago

I genuinely can't wait for the tears as soon as Nintendo delists these games and the key cards are basically landfill 🤣

0

u/eat-skate-masturbate 2d ago

the tears have been falling since switch 2 launch. very few people are happy the game key cards even exist.

1

u/Lostkeysss 2d ago

I dislike gkc as much as anyone else. But its a better middle ground than discontinuing physical altogether like Sony.

1

u/uchihasilver 21h ago

How so it's the same outcome just one you have a bit of plastic . . . If the servers go down or the next console isn't back compatible you still lose it forever

1

u/Lostkeysss 21h ago edited 21h ago

I can lend it, trade it, sell it. If i lose my account for whatever reason I still have the game without repurchasing.. Like I said I hate keycards. I much rather have a full game on the cart.. Im not defending them. But at the end of the day alot of games dont come fully on the disc either n having one doesnt guarantee a publisher cant terminate your license. You can be banned, they could delist it and youre left with half a game (some u might just have a title screen).. any digital storefront is likely to shut down as the next. It comes down to who u trust more...its today's world man. bitching about it doesnt change the tides.
