TP holder
Because it doesn't get much more functional than a toilet paper holder

A beautiful design, but I have concerns about stability and no protection against water splashing or otherwise going in.

What do you mean with "no protection against water splashing or otherwise going in"? There seems to be plenty of protection.

Thing is, that opening on the side and on top are asking for a good water splash, which would ruin the roll.

What on earth are you doing in your bathroom? We have our rolls stacked on a pin with just a base. No protection whatsoever except for the base. Sure, the occasional droplet can get to the rolls, but that's it.

I have concerns about using almost a kilogram of filament for something you could probably buy prefab for an equivalent or cheaper price at somewhere like WalMart.

It's a fair point - 702 g print:
$19.99/kg refill: $14.03
Or
$17.99/kg bulk with spool: $12.63
Or
$14.99/kg bulk refill: $10.5213

This might look better than what you have available locally though.
I just always question any print that's over 500g or so and whether or not this really is something unique.
A lot of the storage solutions on makerworld use $50 in filament to make storage space that would cost $10 at a dollar store.

Just don't piss all over the floor then? Is this really a problem, unless you have slob visitors or small children?

WDYM DON'T PISS ALL OVER?!!!
Seriously though, such things might happen to everyone, and more importantly, hygienic showers, regular showers, and wet cleaning are risks. It doesn't take much water to ruin a TP roll.

Even when you close the lid it‘s not sealed off and will splash particles into the air.

700g? That's impressive

I reduced infill % in areas of lower mechanical stress. For the rod I maintained infill higher as well as increasing the number of wall loops. Seems to work well! My target was ~$10 material cost and print time around 1 day total.

You got a beautiful floating toilet and then stood the TP holder on the floor? Why not design it so that it's also floating?

I whinge when prints are like 100 grams let alone 700. It looks nice but I'm getting the one from the big box store for like 8 bucks.

If your budget is $8/print, maybe you should buy in bulk and up your filament allowance to 500g 😊

The point is some things are better off bought. And an injection molded toilet paper holder. Or even better a steel wire one is just the way to go.
I look forward to seeing what grows on yours over time though. Lots of surface area for some real fun stuff to get in those layers.
The sealed bottom is the icing on that cake.

type of shi americans do instead of buying a bidet.

you obviously didn't pay attention...the toilet in the photo has a bidet built into it...maybe use your eyes, and then your brain before needlessly being a jerk.

I was like „I need that“ then i remembered i just keep my 20 pack of to roles in my bathroom instead of nearly placing them into a cabinet (bc no storage space lmao) and i’d just have 3 roles of tp next to the 17 still in the original packaging…

One of the types of prints where its cool and practical but I think its much easier and better and probably cheaper to buy one.

what better place to have an object with thousands of tiny ridges and slits for bacteria to grow in than right next to the place you defecate at!

Good luck cleaning all the piss and excrement that inevitably gets on the side on it. A lot of wonderful ridges to hold all the bacteria.

You’re shitting outside the toilet? I’ve never gotten poop outside the toilet bowl.

I like it and probably I'll print. Good job.
