Current patch in HSR will be absolutely remembered as the worst one...

So far

There's a reason why the 4.0 preview special program got delayed. I fear it's gonna look really bad.

knowing the leaks already ..... it did not change that much tho you can tell some.

This most recent trailer by Nihilux kinda got my excitement up a bit ngl, it feels fresh and fun. Especially compared to the drama and tragedy and everything else bringing down the vibe in Amphoreus and 3.8 lol.

Yeah I wasn't excited until that. The Myriad Celestia drops in a few days too which should be good.

I'm talking about the environments, the maps. If they had to reskin everything in a rush, there's no chance it doesn't look terribly cheap. And from the few screenshots I saw, it does look cheap.

We got plenty of leaks for that already and it looks great.

4.0 looks great actually. check out the leaks if you want

Looks like a clown circus arc, a little bit modification to Penacony theme. Easy skip. I uninstalled it last month for storage for Endfield. I need the storage.

Ngl i prefer this than the monkey arc

Same, I find it funny how that patch was so fucking ass I had to break compared to a patch with almost no content like this one

u/Lamartinejr Feb 01 '26

Yeah that was the patch that made me drop the game. Not the monkeys or the bananas themselves, but jumping from 30 minutes NPC pointless filler dialogue, to another 30 minutes NPC pointless filler dialogue, to another 30 minutes NPC pointless filler dialogue...

Eventually, after mashing skip for literal hours I just went: "AAAHH F*CK THIS, GAMES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FUN!!" and quit forever. Literally hadn't skipped a single daily from launch day until that point.

They just added a skip button for folks like us, honestly made me try the game again.

1

u/sukahati Feb 01 '26

They should already have skip button by now because I saw HSR will get skip button news in this subreddit before

7

u/One-Constant-4092 ZZZ WuWa HSR Feb 01 '26

They do have a skip button, that's what I said that it's addition is what made me give the game a second chance

4

u/matthewmspace Honkai Star Rail Feb 01 '26

It was added back in 3.4 last summer.

Just finished the 3.8 MSQ recently and the story made this patch way better than the monkey patch imo. That monkey arc almost made me drop the game, just didn't really vibe with it.

And since HSR was in maintenance mode, I got a ton of free time to play other games this month. Expedition 33 2025 GOTY deserved 100% btw.

u/Opezdaz Feb 01 '26

I will die defending monkey patch, it was the funkiest shit ever

4

u/irllyshouldsleep Feb 01 '26

I actually liked that patch

3

u/Jumugen Feb 01 '26

3.0 might have had revenue but was 100% considered the worse patch with how much hate the devs got

Like we are doing monkey bullshit for 2 patches just to be hit with such a mess of 3.0 that they even had to respond to it

5

u/FluidTemperature1884 Feb 01 '26

At least we got a skip button.

1

u/Jumugen Feb 01 '26

Also every story now has 0 enemies except for some random boss encounters. Also skipable puzzles etc

Because they know the majority found the story to be slog. Can't have challenges between them because the story wasnt a reward anymore

u/lucario192 Feb 02 '26

Unfortunately that’s what happens when politics interfere with games

1

u/danteCDC Feb 01 '26

in revenue yes but it surely can't beat the banana patch
