Damn Stella Sora last, behind Mahjong Soul.

Despite being a 100% Yostar gacha, it didn't manage to beat the other Yostar gachas where they are just the publisher.

I wonder what Yostar can do to revitalize SS.

u/Eredbolg Feb 01 '26

For starters they should improve the gearing system, it is atrocious.

49

u/Jumugen Feb 01 '26

Also buff dailys like dorra, disc exp etc

Rework Ascension which was only fun the first 2 weeks of the game where you were dogshit

21

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

More levels to acension, more events, more variety to it, more characters appearing, make more paths for the roguelike aspect of it to feel roguelikey. Like I've not played an acension in a long time, I've just done the skip ticket. Its feel mind numbingly boring to just click pots and events for yoloing pots.

7

u/Jumugen Feb 01 '26

Ascension and you only go through a coridor is weird as fuck ngl

Even if the choices dont matter much, atleast give us a choice man haha

6

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

Like manually doing ascensions feels like monotonous slop content. Which is really bad as its the only way to get better records and improve the power of teams.

2

u/Jumugen Feb 01 '26

Had so much fun at the start but now i just oneshot everything and using "auto" is basically just skipping loading times/animations its just boring

2

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

At this point I'm there for the story, and the memes that come from it. I have hope that they can bounce back somehow.

30

u/anondum Feb 01 '26

This was a 1 banner month so firenze was about the same as nazuka and laru.  Its also the only one of those games with the 1st party shop open.

As to what is frustrating players its emblems, the artifact equivilent.  The system is horrible.

14

u/Twofu_ Feb 01 '26

But Firenze was hyped up. Look what happened there lol

6

u/anondum Feb 01 '26

no, laru got a bigger push and firenze still seems to have done better

1

u/Woolliam Feb 02 '26

She was hyped and then early pullers decided to say she’s not worth it despite being Normal Powered after the string of busted bullshit limiteds we had since launch, so nobody with poor currency management was inspired to open their wallets.

The rest of us just got her for free like we’ve done with every other banner. You don’t gotta pay for shit in this game, man, no wonder they have poor profits. We’ve only had what, three skins? Maybe only two and I’m being generous? So there isn’t even anything for people who want to throw money at the game.

21

u/RipBitter4701 Feb 01 '26

the RNG on ascension really sht, i would say it's even worse than genshin artifact system. the disappointment you get when getting good melody and potential card until that one important particular potential card missing is immesurable. imo at least they should make the RNG not showing same card multiple times after redraw

8

u/AWorthlessDegenerate Feb 01 '26

The worst part of ascension is the save data is tied to the entire team, so if you get a new character to replace another one, you have to grind it all out over again. At least in CZN the save data is tied to each individual character.

19

u/MC-sama Blue Archive & Stella Sora Feb 01 '26

Please fix emblems I hate this system so much

2

u/Thrackris Feb 01 '26

Im not even farming that shit, just putting all my energy to 90 all chars and pull all disk to 70+

16

u/GundamChao Endfield | Star Rail | Genshin Feb 01 '26

There's a lot to like about the game but I'm close to dropping it. It's a roguelike where you hardly ever get to roguelike. I keep logging in for... what gameplay, exactly? The only thing in front of me is more grinding.

5

u/IcyFoxe Feb 01 '26

That's how I feel about ZZZ. I keep logging in and building characters for what? To play the same Shiyu, Deadly Assault and Hollow Zero over and over again?

In Stella, I do enjoy climbing higer ranks in the endgame mode though, and compared to ZZZ, I don't have to skip every other character banner.

23

u/JceBreaker Feb 01 '26

Unless they do some big changes about gameplay, it will not change the revenue. But hey some people will cope with: people pay on Yostar platform so revenue down LOL.

Overall, the gameplay is not attractive enough to make people stay. The ascension/end game embbled stat are so horrible.

8

u/Thrackris Feb 01 '26

True, I’m 'playing' the game, but the gameplay is such wasted potential. The gear system is the worst dogshit I’ve experienced in a game in my life—no joke. I’m just staying for the story, which is somehow entertaining to me, and I kinda like the art of the game also.

u/Genprey Feb 01 '26

Stella Sora will need a major push similar to Blue Archive's 2nd year anniversary. At this point, it's suffering from:

  • Being a fairly niche genre
  • Having that disorienting first impression, added with CCs piling on it
  • Progression, namely gearing, is painful
  • Balance in terms of elements is demoralizing for players who may like a specific character

The first point is self-explanatory, but not that bad as that also means SS can grab a niche of loyal fans. The 2nd is hard to recover from, but leads on to the fact that the devs need to make a hail Mary that focuses on solving most of the game's issues while establishing how its gacha works in practice.

As it stands, SS's gear system takes the painful aspects of NIKKE's and amplifies it by 2, as the pool is so diluted, yet it's also costly to farm reroll materials in a game that already demands a ton of basic materials to level up characters and even discs. This is even worse when certain characters (Firenze) rely on specific lines to be fully functional.

Balance is also problematic, as we have Light and Fire put out absolute warcrimes of characters like Summer Shia and Fuyuka, but then have Dark characters with one foot in the grave with how non-impactful their element reaction is ontop of being focused around minions, which do middling damage due to being unaffected by most buffs. Water isn't as bad as Dark, but you can definitely see the difference when you take out Fuyuka and explode any boss without much effort or concern for mechanics.

To iterate on how bad things are looking, Firenze was one of the more anticipated characters, but perhaps due to her being Umbra + general fatigue from the gear grind, she didn't really boost revenue much. At this point, the devs need to go all in a single patch that includes:

  • Balance changes to struggling characters and elements
  • Softening the frustration of the gear and resource farm/grind
  • Release maid and bunny skins. No, seriously.
  • Include a major summoning campaign that features enticing rewards for new, returning, and veteran players
  • To the above point, market and feature a character that would most likely attract players. Ironically, this may be a character named 'Firefly'

This is taxing on physical and human resources, but necessary to avoid stagnation and an irreversible decline.

14

u/RipBitter4701 Feb 01 '26

>Release maid and bunny skins. No, seriously.

my hate, tiredness, and disappointment toward SS in general disappear instantly the moment they released Bernina and Virigia bunny suit banners

3

u/pm_me_fibonaccis Blue Archive Feb 01 '26

Virigia would print money. Maid Beatrixa is also plausible; she's halfway there already as a nurse and her streamer persona.

33

u/AndlenaRaines Feb 01 '26

It being a 100% Yostar gacha has no bearing on how good the game is because they had no history of being a game developer before Stella Sora

20

u/No_Pineapple2799 Feb 01 '26

They actually have a history but it's kinda obscure, the game's name is isekai kara no nono but you can barely find any information on it

6

u/tagle420 Feb 01 '26

Good game, good quality, but not unique / fun enough for me to continue over other games. The market is too competitive now.

39

u/BernhardIsAGod Feb 01 '26

The game is good, but they fumbled the release. And they are losing the few players that gave the game a chance despite everything, like me, because, let's be honest, the game is just boring. Being a 'side game' is not a reason to be boring. The game has glaring issues too, like the 'Emblem' system, a RNG fest that nobody likes, and the 'Ascension' mode is just... unbearably boring too. It's not even a true rogue-like mode. It's always the same. They make the same minigames for every event too. Couple all of that with Firenze, one of the most hyped up characters, finally releasing and being SO MID... And the last Finale Echoing being HEAVILY shilled for Fuyuka, screwing every player that didn't have her... At this point, even if they promised to work on these issues, I think the game can't be saved. It's a shame, because the game has potential, the story is good, the characters are pretty nice and charming, but it is what it is.

17

u/pm_me_fibonaccis Blue Archive Feb 01 '26

Man Firenze being mid was such a disappointment for me. I've been looking forward to her since beta.

2

u/scytheavatar Feb 02 '26

How can a game be good when it is "just boring"?

8

u/Lunarpeers Feb 02 '26

Arknights endfield? 🙂

u/avelineaurora AK|AL|BA|CZN|EF|EX|HBR|HSR|LC|N|NTE|PtN|R99|SS|TC|WW|ZZZ Feb 01 '26

I'm so worried for this game, goddammit. It's one of my favorite gacha, if it EOSes already I'm going to crash out.

0

u/lrrb Feb 01 '26

I don't think that's the case. People here seem to have completely missed that Stella Sora launched with Yostar's own top up site that has a small (5%) discount on all purchases, so that's most likely where players are doing their spending. That revenue won't show up on these charts.

If I had to guess, I'd prob put Stella Sora at least around the $4m mark.

3

u/avelineaurora AK|AL|BA|CZN|EF|EX|HBR|HSR|LC|N|NTE|PtN|R99|SS|TC|WW|ZZZ Feb 02 '26

I hope so. I always use Google Play myself because I'm in a position to get cards often, so I never personally consider how many people are using non-mobile stores.

6

u/Liesianthes Feb 02 '26

I wonder what Yostar can do to revitalize SS.

They need to give roadmap and more skins. They have like gacha for discs but no one almost is pulling that since free ones is enough. It's been a month since their dev letter and still nothing has been happening aside from repetitive contents.

10

u/Sololiquy Feb 01 '26

There not much content in it, and it still easy to clear. The new char Firenze can't carry revenue because her kit underwhelming compare previous char because rely to minion which there no support char for it.

14

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

Yep the Korean forums were buzzing about how terrible Firenze kit was, how having 5* Firenze doesn't actually go nuts with damage like the other limited characters in boss blitz, how minion build feels legit terrible to play.

7

u/Tzunne Arknights tourist Feb 01 '26

Will stella sora do a JP gacha move? /j

btw, that isnt last place, far from it, is 76/169.

7

u/pedro_henrique_br Feb 01 '26

OP was comparing gachas with some sort of Yostar involvement, being the 5 in the image. In that comparison, SS is the last between the 5

1

u/Tzunne Arknights tourist Feb 01 '26

Ah, yes, thanks, I noticed it now... for some reason considered only Stella Sora an Yostar game, which is partially true. 😂

4

u/WhisperGod Feb 01 '26

There really isn't a whole lot to do in End Game. Events are mostly the same type of events we have had before. Also, the banner character that uses summons is kind of weak.

5

u/A12qwas World's biggest Heaven Burns Red glazer Feb 01 '26

Where is HBR on the list?

6

u/bruhmoment444444444 Feb 01 '26

Barely breaking 2M, and the EN version is still making way under 100k a month

18

u/Playful_Weekend4204 Feb 01 '26

Man I'd really hate to see Stella Sora EOS, for all its initial problems the story and characters are a blast, to me it's on par with Genshin in how well the characters are fleshed out over time (and not forgotten after their banner ends like some others ahem ahem)

19

u/peterson_sparrow Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 01 '26

I don't think they can do anything at this point, those who left will never return and those who still stick around didn't have reason to spend money because the game is too easy and don't have PVP.

The game probably won't survive to see their first anniversary.

18

u/Playful_Weekend4204 Feb 01 '26

Nah it's not that bad, revenue going down but it's not a Tribe Nine-level flop.

But yeah the game really doesn't give you much incentive to pull or even play beyond the story, really really hope they fix ascension soon...

21

u/dqsang90 Feb 01 '26

IIRC, the sales have been cut in half for 3 months straight. It's still manageable for now but the situation definitely will get worse if Yostar don't take any action. I kind of like the game and would hate to see it go EOS.

5

u/3nsey WW | GFL2 | SS Feb 01 '26

It will not reach EOS by any means, the production of Stella Sora is quite cheap compared to other games, even more than Azur Lane where Manjuu/Yostar spend a lot on ads and marketing IRL

6

u/QuarioX Feb 01 '26

The issue is it is cheap and people see it. People hate low effort invested and it shows in revenue.

10

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

Its not cheap. What gacha game has as much effort but into emotes, songs, character outfit changes in story, multiple different tiny img changes for characters.

-9

u/QuarioX Feb 01 '26

While I would like to agree with you, there were a lot of art mistakes to the point I started considering the art to be made by AI.

14

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

Oh its you, the guy who calls out every little mistake as AI when its legit artists fucking up layers in the game.

-3

u/QuarioX Feb 01 '26

Yup it is me and unfortunetly layers are the least of the worries.

6

u/avelineaurora AK|AL|BA|CZN|EF|EX|HBR|HSR|LC|N|NTE|PtN|R99|SS|TC|WW|ZZZ Feb 01 '26

You have got to be kidding me lmao

3

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

Off top of my head, Star Ocean Anamesis, Draglia lost, FFBE, and A SAO gacha game died from the curse.

9

u/3nsey WW | GFL2 | SS Feb 01 '26

People don’t care about devs putting effort on their games to start spending, it’s just that there’s no incentive to pull/spend in Stella Sora when all endgames and events are exactly the same, easy and genuine fell like a chore, even weekly materiales are a chore to farm

4

u/QuarioX Feb 01 '26

They are all exactly the same because it lacks an effort to make something new. You kinda proved my point.

6

u/CommitteePutrid6247 SUMMONER Feb 01 '26

The game probably won't survive to see their first anniversary.

By that logic, Aether Gazer should not be alive, yet it still is.

1

u/Abyssrain7 Feb 02 '26

I don't think it will die before anny, but at least devs do a miracle the game will bleed out slowly until die.

7

u/pm_me_fibonaccis Blue Archive Feb 01 '26

One problem with this tracking data is it may be missing sales on Yostar's own store; the store is cheaper than in-game by 5%, seriously incentivizing people to shop there rather than in-game.

1

u/algelon Feb 01 '26

Also tax-free which is close to a 10% discount for me

6

u/Fun-Will5719 ULTRA RARE Feb 01 '26

we dont get cute and funny characters.

11

u/Kurgass Feb 01 '26

This is what you get for ignoring people(2x pull cost, poor income, wallpaper skins, hacker infested rankings) and making unnecessary complex gacha system(it should have been guaranteed banner unit pity at 80).

It's not as bad as it seemed when you decide to stick with it, especially as side gacha. But damage was done and you don't get a 2nd chance in such saturated market.

Freebies - this always works. Also rework banners as mentioned. And pray people will just stick for CGDCT like in BA.

2

u/Elyssae Feb 03 '26

The pull currency per patch and the time gating kills any desire to play it, personally.

The gacha system is also dog shit.

They killed any chance the game had from the get go

5

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

I feel like people forget this is only mobile. It doesn't track pc client. I legit don't know anyone who's playing ss on mobile.

8

u/lambchow32 Feb 01 '26

Yeah it's not looking good for Stella Sora even if we take other things into consideration. They aren't pandering to the people who come from BA to play Stella Sora so far, they arent doing QoLs for their content. So far its just rerun events mainly, I'm not sure if Yostar is even known for doing collabs that often otherwise I'd be hopeful for that

14

u/avelineaurora AK|AL|BA|CZN|EF|EX|HBR|HSR|LC|N|NTE|PtN|R99|SS|TC|WW|ZZZ Feb 01 '26

So far its just rerun events mainly,

Bro just fucking saying shit.

9

u/estranjahoneydarling Feb 01 '26

How are they already on a rerun phase?? That game is barely 3 months old??

18

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

There isn't a rerun story event, they added a arknights tower defense game mode event around fuyuka's release and brought it back with new trekkers added to it this time around. They brough back a dump event where we get rid of Records for gems. Like there is no actual event that has a story rerunning this guy is blowing air out of his butthole.

3

u/Rylaera Feb 01 '26

I already hadd every character in the game and not spend a single money.... so.... Idk what to spend tbh.

1

u/Lost_Needleworker676 Blue Archive (and ZZZ) Feb 01 '26

Whoa, mahjong soul is crazy low! Hope that game survives, I do enjoy some mahjong

1

u/Alternative_Water868 Feb 02 '26

They need to do something to stop the cheaters from getting on leaderboards.

1

u/lordgaebril_ AL | HSR | WuWa | ZZZ | GFL2 | HBR | SS | CZN | DNA | AK:E | NTE Feb 02 '26

Where is HBR here?

1

u/Elyssae Feb 03 '26

They can start by fixing the dog shit gacha system and pull currency.

Going deep into a banner, get 5 rainbows, and none of them being the banner character is pure ass.

Then the roguelike is just... boring AF with too much rng.

Lastly, the "gear" system is just pure lazy slop.

2

u/SmileyBMM Feb 02 '26

I tried it and Trickcal when they launched, night and day difference in how it felt like Stella Sora didn't respect my time. I dropped the game after one day and never looked back, meanwhile I'm playing Trickcal daily.

The game isn't entertaining, the roguelike elements just don't click with the gacha system, and it felt like a slog to do anything.

I think a live service Hades like game can absolutely work, it just needs to focus more on the gameplay and not have such rancid rng.

-16

u/Enough_Ad2500 Feb 01 '26

Their fault for being too greedy and refuse to change anything, the gacha is just so goddang horrible.

16

u/pm_me_fibonaccis Blue Archive Feb 01 '26

It's 2026, time to put this misinfo to rest.

11

u/peterson_sparrow Feb 01 '26

No, the problem is the game is too easy so there is no reason to spend any money at all, even F2P can get full rewards from leaderboard very easily and the game don't have PVP either.

11

u/Playful_Weekend4204 Feb 01 '26

It's the exact opposite though? I have every single limited char minus Shia and am guaranteed the next one in 30 pulls...I am fully f2p...oh and I have Fuyuka's disc too

There was some math guide with what your odds of having all characters so far are and I think it was something like 40%?

6

u/Aware_Budget9700 Feb 01 '26

I only played until Fuyuka before deciding it wasn’t for me, but I did end up with getting all 3 limiteds that came out at the time, plus three dupes on top of that. So it’s quite believable that 40% of day one players could just have every limited.

9

u/DbdSaltyplayer Feb 01 '26

Ah found an idiot who thinks the gacha is horrible.

15

u/Alchadylan Feb 01 '26

It's literally the Endfield gacha but better

2

u/GADSavage Feb 02 '26

Completely f2p and have every character. Bunch of stupid CCs spreading misinfo.

-1

u/Gullible-Strength-18 Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 01 '26

i think the problem rn is that people are expecting more pulls despite the game being extremely f2p friendly once you realise how high 2% is(i am a d1 player and have some standard 5* maxxed and every limited ,some with dupes as well and i'm a f2p...)why would i need to spend if i can already get everything

2

u/Elyssae Feb 03 '26

So because you're lucky, everyone else is wrong?

I went deep inyo firenze banner, had 4 rainbows - 0 firenze.

Yeah, at that point, Im out

-4

u/DecentAdhesiveness52 Feb 01 '26

Game's just too generous. For me, who has all the limited characters except Nazuka, makes the game easy, so I don't really consider spending anything. I hope they can cook something up. I love this game because I love roguelike games.
