On the upside I’m quite hyped for Ashveil now

8

u/SkeeLd Mar 02 '26

Bestie they murdered ashveil's kit in the most recent beta cycle 😭😭😭

8

u/Golden-Owl Game Designer with a YouTube hobby Mar 02 '26

Don’t even know what he does. Rolling him cause he’s funny dumb man

5

u/Aera_Minami Mar 02 '26

good moral compass

2

u/FeatureMysterious757 Mar 02 '26

I see. He's a FuA sub DPS. Basically 5* Moze.

265

u/YeidenTrabem Mar 01 '26

Also a lot of people didnt like the Elation mechanic being so brainrotted and oversaturated

138

u/DarkenVragon Mar 01 '26

It's just too flashy for me. Even the numbers on the elation card was flashing rainbow, like why? I swear someone out there got seizures over time from this.

Also people learned from Aglaea/Castorice to wait out the entire team to see whether it's worth to pull or not. Aglaea being the first remembrance without actual dedicated remembrance team like Castorice, might deter people from pulling Yao/Sparxie till SW/Evanescia full team is shown.

40

u/Zeckrin1 Mar 01 '26

Last point is big for me as a spender now. I ain't spending just to see the devs throw nothing my way for not picking their favourites 💀

24

u/Perfect-Lettuce3890 Mar 01 '26

This.

The Units before anniversary are sent out to "die" or get replaced/powercrept fairly early as the meta revolves around the Anni Unit.

If they do it like with Acheron/Firefly or Castorice/Phainon most of their best in slot units come afterwards.

So IF Yao Guang or Sparxie are part of their teams they will rerun them alongside them or their support units anyway.

24

u/sturdy-guacamole Mar 01 '26

i quit star rail and wuwa and slowly ZZZ for similar reasoning. its just too much, and its not as fun.

i had more fun with corin and anby at the start of the game than all my super powerful flashy teams. the combat is less enjoyable. i had more fun with camellya and sanhua than i do my aemeath premium team. i had more fun with early kafka and seele and blade before the cliff of jingliu.

as much as i complain about genshin, even with all the lunar charge shit im still able to go into an endgame mode with EM thoma and have a fun time and it doesnt feel as bad.

u/MidnightIAmMid Mar 01 '26

Yeah I actually like flashy colorful things and that initial Yao Guang trial was overwhelming. Like, holy shit. It felt like a really long battle filled with flashing lights and random loud noises.

1

u/Apart_Routine2793 Doomscroller: Go Tribalism Go! Mar 02 '26

Not very elated

141

u/RealisticJob3876 Mar 01 '26

the auto-battle take too long because of repetitive and useless Aha animation from both side.

30

u/SubconsciousLove Arknights Mar 01 '26

Still weirded by the fact that they decided to show off Aha damage numbers as if it's anything amazing. This is HSR after 3.0 powercreep and CW giving players the taste of inflated damage numbers.

5

u/Martian_on_the_Moon Mar 01 '26

Lack of digit grouping is also annoying.

73

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26

I would have pulled sparxie had her election skill not annoyed em to no end

58

u/YeidenTrabem Mar 01 '26

Same here with Yao. Love her design, hate the Aha laugh spamming nonstop

50

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 01 '26

Hearing the two spam their moves in currency wars WC30 while the boss HP bars don't move feels like torture set up by Aha themself

1

u/Local-dumb-ass Mar 01 '26

Is high level currency wars that bad,,, I had fun in the mid and high difficulties but since reaching wealth creator I end up with runs I already know are bricked and/or dead after the first plane

I can't even imagine how annoying wealth creator 20 is

4

u/KF-Sigurd Mar 01 '26

Wealth Creator 20+ means you basically have 3-5 options for viable teams that also don't take an hour+ to do a full run, especially if you decide to run on +HP conditions.

Break + full Galaxy Ranger Boothill is the strongest team and will kill even WC 30 bosses in the blink of an eye. You put double drills on him and the speed fan and watch him go.

Aglaea double SPD boots is good as well.

SP team is pretty good, but get used to seeing Elation skills.

Wolf Hunt is pretty good if you can luck into getting the emblems needed.

AOE can be good if you have the units for it.

1

u/dankmemekovsky Mar 02 '26

i cleared WC30 with dot which is broken as well

1

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 03 '26

Not with trial dot in my experience, needed help from 3 aoe to stack hysilens DOT and get extra dmg from hitting the orbs.

Skill points, boothill max galaxy ranger, and agalea are the most viable trial teams

2

u/A-Chicken Mar 02 '26

Currently Skill Point and Break rules in high level CW. That's if you don't count things like Wheelchair Aggie.

Skill Point is very much boosted because Sparxie, Sparkle and Yaoguang contribute LOL. Too bad Cedrya back row AI won't target Sparxie except if Sparxie is bar none more upgraded than the others, but AHA plays most of the game for you...

1

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 03 '26

The only way for cery to target sparxie is to drop DHIL in the backline.

AoE is possible if you can stack scholar and get big herta quickly. But I needed E1S1 herta to muscle thoeugh encounters

1

u/icoulduseagreencard Mar 01 '26

WC20 is just spammy and not fun (borderline torturous imo). If I wasn’t a completionism sucker, I would never subject myself to WC7+, cause runs become a genuine chore

12

u/Katicflis1 Mar 01 '26

The vending machine shit? Its so cringe. I love OG sparkle + her animations having "mysterious chaos pixie" energy rather than Sparxie's animations having looney toons vibe.

But I did really enjoy 4.0 as a patch. Just not sure if I want elation at all. I love Yao but no idea if I want her team at all.

11

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 01 '26

I hope SW SP and evanescence have more bearable elation skills or better yet give us an option to turn off the Aha laugh

3

u/nanimeanswhat Mar 01 '26

I loved the story and planacardia. Hated Elation path. Too bad after the story and exploration ends you're only left with combat.

1

u/maxdragonxiii Mar 03 '26

im not judging Elation as a whole yet, but seeing it likely transforming into Remembrance 2.0 is enough to put me off it. of course things can change with Elation MC, but still.

0

u/Clueless_Otter Mar 01 '26

You wouldn't have since she isn't released yet.

10

u/Ashgriev Mar 01 '26

I sure love having a beautiful elegant character have forced loud clown sounds and animations play all the time! I swear to god did no one on the dev team think for a second how unfitting this crap would be for some of the elation characters...

2

u/rinuskoe Mar 02 '26

unfortunately i think that's the whole point of Aha. he gives no fuck about what you think is fun, he does it for his own fun, lorewise at least...

20

u/Railgunblack Mar 01 '26

Yeah it's too much ngl. I hope the main DPS Elation characters aren't this flashy

18

u/YeidenTrabem Mar 01 '26

Or let us skip the unnecesary animations

9

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 01 '26

You will see animations longer than pollux/khaslana and you WILL enjoy Aha laughing non stop.

16

u/batiwa Mar 01 '26

I think the Aha animation is going to get boring really fast

17

u/YeidenTrabem Mar 01 '26

Already is, and we are on the first half of the first patch. They need to do something ASAP

11

u/Tintinmdm Mar 01 '26

Same! I tried Yaoguang/Sparxie in Current war and it was horrendous i would never pull Sparxie or any future elation.

5

u/ApprehensiveCat GBF | Genshin | HSR | ZZZ | twst Mar 01 '26

Same, I like Sparkle fine and use her a lot but one run of CW showed me how insufferable playing Sparxie and an Elation team would be for any length of time so I don't want to ever pull for that. I just wish they'd made Yao Guang another more generalist Harmony instead of tied to this brainrot animation path. ☹️

19

u/lasse1408 Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26

0

Varka being underpowered while Luuk really strong.

Luuk being released in a game with a smaller amount of female players then ZZZ.

Varka is hype.

No he’s not meta. Just decent

0

u/Nat6LBG GI | HSR Mar 01 '26

IMO every single character in his current best team is meant to be replaced.

15

u/Educational_Pea_5401 Mar 01 '26

Nah Durin can stay especially if nicole will also buff his dmg along with Varkas. Venti however needs to be replaced his kit is so outdated even with the buffs he doesnt provide much for Varka

1

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 02 '26

venti's hex buff is for him to be a mdps, him as a support is barely outdoing four stars like sucrose. nicoel should have been anemo so she can replace venti and allow him to have 2 of PECH element while still having durin as the premium pyro option.

82

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 01 '26

Varka has one of the best SQ and mondstadt nostalgia pumping him up

23

u/kuraokami89 Mar 01 '26

I pull Varka because I'm waiting for 5 years and he voice by my favorite Japanese VA. Varka is so popular in Japanese Community

5

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 02 '26

sugita rizz continues

9

u/kuraokami89 Mar 01 '26

Remember Varka banner only 3 days (February 25)

31

u/StormNapoleon27 Mar 01 '26

Yeah people have only been waiting for him for 5-6 years. I’ve never seen such a non meta dps have so many C6’s, he might genuinely become the new Xiao.

9

u/Mark_Xyruz Mar 01 '26

Also lots of returning players

1

u/Advendra Mar 02 '26

That is the definition of high quality accumulation

58

u/Tintinmdm Mar 01 '26

Luuk is unfortunate to be released in the wrong game. Imagine just liking a male character but you are constantly being mocked and insulted for liking a character... by players of the same game.

12

u/walachias Input a Game Mar 01 '26

“How does it feel to be the target audience” meme

19

u/Feiz-I Mar 01 '26

Because your own playerbase goes around insulting and mocking the others for just playing the game and doing their own thing to this day so… it’s just karma really.

1

u/logicblender1 Mar 02 '26

One look at r/Sigrikamains and you'll see everyone happy to pull Qiuyuan for her

-6

u/Cyberdine50 Mar 01 '26

Literally no one's making fun of Luuk enjoyers, especially after that story. You're making up fake news

36

u/Tintinmdm Mar 01 '26

You havent looked enough

3

u/AICY0 Mar 01 '26

You are nickpicking lmao

Is like going to twitter then complaint about how dumb people are

-1

u/Cyberdine50 Mar 01 '26

Totally this. Judging from one of their other comments, I can totally see why too. Disgruntled former player trying to justify leaving a successful game early by extrapolating the opinions of some random twittard to the entire player base. Seen it time and time again by these bad faith engagement baiters

5

u/AICY0 Mar 01 '26

Just like there are people despise quiting GI/WW or any other game for a long time yet still stalking and badmouth the game every chance they get

I keep imagine them as a tsundere and it make me laugh every single time

"Is not like i actually enjoy the time we spen together or anything BAKA BAKA 😠"

-5

u/Hrafhildr Mar 01 '26

That doesn't happen.

-9

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '26

I'm sorry WHO is mocking anyone for liking luuk? Why are you just making up ops bro

-17

u/adcsuc Mar 01 '26

Classic victim complex of husbando players playing a waifu game

18

u/Tintinmdm Mar 01 '26

I stopped playing back in version 1.3 but I just feel bad for the girls still playing wuwa. Wish they would stop making males lol

-1

u/zeroXgear Mar 01 '26

No wonder you are making shit up rn

5

u/Tintinmdm Mar 01 '26

I replied to another comment that you guys havent looked enough lol

-2

u/AyameIsBestGirl Mar 01 '26

is it really a problem if you have to go hunting for the 3 guys that are "attacking" people who pulled on Luuk, which i still dont even believe is happening lol

1

u/Stocking1 Mar 02 '26

Right? Whom are these people fooling?

0

u/adcsuc Mar 01 '26

Weird as fuck

-11

u/Street_Ad_7684 Mar 01 '26

Luuk was released in the correct game, otherwise, he wouldn't have looked or played as good, and his story is good.

11

u/Vahallen Pulled M6W5 Pulchra, S-Rank when? Mar 01 '26

Is Luuk strong even if you don’t have Lynae? Last time I checked he really wanted her (or was it Mornye?)

I also heard he is kinda really bad in WhiWa due to being strongly a single target unit

3

u/MrTickleDih Mar 01 '26

He only needed Sanhua tbh. Lynae has all dmg amp

2

u/vahneo Mar 02 '26

Well he is the strongest Spectro DPS in his BiS team, and he is not that reliant on his Sig like Phoebe or Zani. He even has his F2P team unlike Zani.

0

u/KiwiNeat1305 Mar 01 '26

You measure character strentgh from bis teams so it doesnt matter if he would need lynae to begin with.

7

u/Vahallen Pulled M6W5 Pulchra, S-Rank when? Mar 01 '26

Eh I disagree

Having at least decent options is pretty important, but that’s my take and what you say does apply a lot in general discourse of power

Personally, not even talking about having standard banner or 4* options, but at least a bunch of limited working as options for the character

Maybe it is the case that Luuk does have options, I genuinely don’t know

I heard worse than Camellya without Lynae, but it was early beta and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was slander

1

u/KiwiNeat1305 Mar 01 '26

I dont see the point in viewing character strength without bis teammates.

Ofc there can be good f2p options but in a discussion i am talking about their optimal teams not their suboptimal ones?!

3

u/Helpful-Ad9095 Mar 02 '26

Varka isn't that strong, but he's fun as heck to play.  I was going to skip him, and then after watching my wife run around with him power jumping up cliffs I broke and spent for him.

I doubt I'll use him much in endgame, but he rapidly became my favourite overworld  character.

6

u/anondum Mar 01 '26

does varka being underpowered matter if you're pulling C6? I don't know whale mindset

47

u/Katicflis1 Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26

As a picky whale Varka is great at high investment. He can do damage with 5 different elements and because of that he is far harder to block out of content than lunar teams.

Flins/Nefer's reactions can get fucked if an enemy has an element affinity that kills their reactions. In a world where a fire enemy will totally screw Flin's damage output, Cryo Varka will just trigger extra melt damage against that foe. Like... Varka CAN get effectiveness-blocked by hoyo, but its harder. I can throw all the money at Flins but Flins will forever have only one job while Varka has 5.

Realistically Varka, because he has access to 5 elements, has to have a flexibility tax, particularly at low investment levels. You cant let Varka alone be the 1-2 best DPS in the game of 5 different elements. You cant let him replace Mavuika/Skirk/Varesa/Mualani at low investment. There's gotta be a trade off.

20

u/herminihildo Mar 01 '26

This is a really nice breakdown. I would also add that he is a claymore user with very fast animations that is very effective with geo shielded enemies.

15

u/Mars_261 Mar 01 '26

You're right. There is a bigger chance that future characters can work with Varka than Flins and Nefer. These two already have their best teams.

3

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 02 '26

considering that C0r0 varka with r1 serpent spine managed to beat diff 5 cryo overseer with just four star teammates, varka raw damage is higher than most people realise.

granted that build in the bilibili showcase had good builds, good ping and very good varka combos.

u/troysama Mar 01 '26

Luuk also uses the exact same thing as wuwa's archon equivalent and showed up on the banner right after her so a lot of people skipped

3

u/No_Sheepherder_1855 Mar 01 '26

I was pretty surprised to see how many women were at a pop up event in LA for WuWa last month. The couple behind me the girl was there for WuWa after her boyfriend went to the Endfield popup and in front of me the boyfriend didn’t even play gachas but his girlfriend was there for WuWa. It was about 1/3 women to 2/3 men on the way in and pretty close to 40/60 on the way out. Kuro is missing out a lot by not releasing more male characters .

3

u/lordsfavor10 Mar 01 '26

Giga Chad Friendly Neighborhood Doctor Luuk

His F2P team is viable, get new standard weapon banner, get Sanhua and SK and he's ready to go

Sadly, Wuwa and male character not compatible

Many just skip, actually he's going to be useful for newcomers, easy to build

1

u/Vivid_Brush_2082 Mar 03 '26

Promotion team and varka's story doing the hard carry. His kits are too restricting. Would have sold more if he's strong without support like the nod krai characters

26

I'm just stating what I see. Both men and women of all ages can love Varka's design and his memes. Luuk however is for 12 yo girls and they have no money yet

20

u/Dramatic_endjingu Mar 01 '26

I’m older than 12 and I like Lukk’s design. The problem is that he looks like he’d be from an otome game or joseimuke game but I don’t think many of his target audience are left in the game.

His story quest is one of the best in the game tho, absolute cinema fr

Bennett is bad for him since he can't buff durin and venti is mid as a support. Lots of space for new teammates

9

u/-Drogozi- Mar 01 '26

Assumption/cope

Hex characters are generally within the same ballpark be it new and old, hoyo might raise them all up with future exansion of the hex roster. Varka specifically has that "atk buffer unbound from circle impact and a shielder" shaped hole in his team.

17

u/San-77_ Mar 01 '26

-8

12

u/CallMeAmakusa Mar 01 '26

what's not generic about luuk compared to other male characters released in wuwa? he's covered head to toe, uses the same model as every male character post game release, is another male mid air dps.

1

u/New-Decision5632 Mar 01 '26

Jiyan wears tights ,XLY has robotic arm (clothes are normal ,highschool crush type) , Brant has his chest out(more fanservice than any genshin chara, flamboyant type),qiuyuan wears martial arts uniform(serious, quit type) , Luuk wears a doc with his veiny arms out and a coat(cunning, gentle type)....

Surely every male chara are "generic" relatively.(Maybe you should check your eyes?)

-3

Zibai doing that well is surprising. Cuz she dropped outta nowhere and her story was "go on girl, give us nothing"

18

u/ComposedOfStardust Mar 01 '26

I'd like to tell you that her lore has been in the game since 1.0 and she already had a 10 minute fanmade animated short film about her over a year ago so knowledge of her existence is definitely not an unpopular notion..... but in regards to revenue specifically yeah I'd say it's basically people either going "pretty girl" or "oh so she's basically Zhongli's predecessor"

gacha is really a side game afterall. whoever says "XX game is game first, gacha second" is stupid lol.

if you invest too much attention to it, you might end up spending money. which isn't always a bad thing, but i generally don't want to...

2

u/MilesGamerz Mar 02 '26

unless its project sekai where you can ignore the gacha and don't miss much gameplay wise

6

u/Xerxes457 Mar 01 '26

I think deleting a gacha game and walking away is better for you if aren't having fun. Its like spending say 100 hours in a non-live service game. I've spent over 150 hours in Total Warhammer 2 or 120 hours in Civilization 5. I didn't feel bad walking away because I had fun with them. It also helps that you can come back any time you want.

I know what you felt. I stopped playing Genshin around 3.4 or so too. And I came back for like 3 patches in 4.X just to pull because I had a big stockpile and left. Then I straight quit for a year. The story wasn't doing it for me and the game had issues I wasn't liking. So I quit it for HSR.

4

u/Viktorv22 Mar 01 '26

I can't see quiting Genshin anytime soon after the last phenomenal archon quest. Writing (IMO) is very tight and presentation with all the camera angles, animations is quite good and it's only getting better, even in event quests. Meanwhile HSR, even with the skip button I just couldn't care much about the latest story, especially when every 10 minutes they push you into this stupid ass braindead 2D minigame....? So I decided to quit that, even if I like the characters....

ZZZ, I see a lot of heart being put into it, excellent characters, demos, songs that I actually listen on daily basis, even interesting NPCs... I think I can stick with it for a long time, despite sometimes characters feel shoehorned into the story (Looking at you YSG)

i'm not too sure though because i haven't replayed with a new account lol. if i lose my account i think it's more likely i'll acquire one (wink wink) that has my favourite chars rather than replay everything haha.

I quit on Genshin after the main Natlan story. I just couldn’t balance it and HSR anymore. You can only devote so much time to live service games. And I got burned out on open world games, I can’t commit that time like I could in the pandemic. My 3 live services are HSR, Warzone, and Battlefield 6.

u/neraida0 Mar 01 '26

unfortunately... no place to go with almost no competition (at least in terms of 3d turn based genre)

50

u/Wikkushi Mar 01 '26

All these delays, politics and schedule stuff tanked release a bit, yeah. But overall March, April and May look like they would be bangers for HSR, so I guess we will see next month.

36

u/NoNefariousness2144 Miyabi is cool Mar 01 '26

4.1 is also going to be rough considering its just Ashevil.

I guess they are trying to simmer the hype and rebuild excitement with the anni.

14

u/Katicflis1 Mar 01 '26

yeah but ashveil debut month is gonna have Sparxie AND ashveils numbers so the sensortower month will be solid(presumably).

If ashveil stays unnerfed, he's gonna be the king of bullshit low cost.

Edit: yikes

13

u/hikarimurasaki Mar 01 '26

Truly continuing the spirit of the Hunt path (Feixiao and Archer before him)

11

u/Katicflis1 Mar 01 '26

He might as well release strong since hes gonna be semi-powercreeped before the rest of his team shows up per leaks. Full Elation team is gonna be in beta and giving a new power tier peak DURING his banner. The rest of his team aint allegedly coming until late region.

3

u/SkeeLd Mar 02 '26

You jinxed us

1

u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus Mar 02 '26

that explains me losing 50/50 on saber's banner last night

17

u/Golden-Owl Game Designer with a YouTube hobby Mar 01 '26

I’m more hyped for Ashveil than Sparxie tbh

9

u/Wikkushi Mar 01 '26

Ashveil numbers won't be big, yeah. But they would be included in March and April. And March has Sparxie + Yao Guang. And April will have anni character, so they'll carry.

2

u/New_Economist_9429 Mar 01 '26

If the guy is really right, we can expect a movie announcement from him during his birthday live stream.

1

u/lasse1408 Mar 01 '26

I doubt Silver Wolf main push will generate a lot of hype.

I think the upcoming HSR character roster according to leaks is pretty stacked. Aside from Sparkle Alter who is not released yet (she's second half of 4.0), we are expecting

Yae, Silverwolf Alter, Himeko Alter, Blade Alter

Feels like 4.X will have some pretty strong revenue showings based on these alone.

4

u/MidnightIAmMid Mar 01 '26

I sort of feel like this might be a rough year for HSR in general, at least compared to how much they did in Penacony and Amphoreous.

15

u/SanjiInHSR_66 Stella Sora/MLBB/NIKKE/ZZZ/Hi3 1st part ONLY! Mar 01 '26

Yeah, why did they release a support 1st 😭my YG is just collecting dust unless I do triple sup for Phainon lmao but hey, 21m is still high considering what's happening the past months.

10

u/MogyuYari134 Mar 01 '26

They wanted her banner to line up with LNY

1

u/Gloomy_Ad5221 Mar 01 '26

i had to build archer just so i can use her then get that boi out once sparxie is up.

18

u/FeyrisTan Mar 01 '26

Man we're about to get some hyper-whale spending event on anni

32

u/Disastrous_Let7964 Mar 01 '26

It's Silver Wolf and Yae Sakura expy, I don't think they think it'll be a struggle with revenue

11

u/FeyrisTan Mar 01 '26

I mean Cyrene is an Elysia expy and they still had to give her some help

15

u/Disastrous_Let7964 Mar 01 '26

She was also the only character on banner for that whole patch rather than two characters

5

u/O_Berion Mar 01 '26

Imagine hsr earn like 20 mil in 4.2. Thats will be so funny. Truly Elation experience.

7

u/FeyrisTan Mar 01 '26

I wish that was the case just to see the memes, but it's gotta be like at least 70M with the spending event, both elation teams' main DPSs releasing, novaflares probably getting reruns. I'm kinda hoping to see our first 2 patch rerun for Yaoguang just to amend her terribly timed forced CNY release.

16

u/Shot-Maximum- Mar 01 '26

They have reached the maximum milking achievable with the game, wouldn't surprise me if a many casual player simply jumped ship after Remembrance in Amphoreus and have had enough

7

u/Specialist-Nose-6031 Mar 02 '26

Unlikely unfortunately. HSR marketing is bound to bring them back combined with how easy it is to keep up with the game. Players should've jumped ship after seeing what a shitshow Remembrance was but if Genshin can maintain its rhythm with all these competitors, HSR likely can as well (with no real competition)

12

u/pipic_picnip HSR, Arknights, R1999 Mar 01 '26

Not just that. People have been burned bad by the remembrance path and now they are actively avoiding locking themselves into another new path unless they can pull full premium teams with premium LCs and most likely some needed cons also. It’s way too expensive for F2P and low spender. I am also skipping the entire elation path.

4

u/Specialist-Nose-6031 Mar 02 '26

Why play then? They won't add any new archetypes this year. Sounds really boring. Imagine not pulling Remembrance during last year; every piece of content would just feel like shit because it's balanced around something you don't have access to. No reason to expect a 4-star Elation team either

8

u/TrumpChildOnahole Mar 01 '26

People have also been conditioned not to pull for unit reruns since power creep happens so rapid

10

u/adcsuc Mar 01 '26

What the actual fuck is that name

3

u/Common-Chip-4928 Mar 01 '26

Save me hi3rd nostalgia and spending event, this is AK we're up against /s

3

u/lordsfavor10 Mar 01 '26

That's it. How tf they can put Yao full 1 patch, while Sparxie are not

The logical things is they try to build hype, 4th wall, slander on HSR itself, etcs

Can't wait for March numbers in, do they pull it off or backfire

Am mindlessly using Yao in any given team and hella stupid

It can proc 1 (one) AHA Instant that damage less than prenova flare Blade

5

u/CleoAir Abyssal Soul Mar 01 '26

Part of me coping that HSR will slowly start bleeding players considering that the "new" path is once again just another reskinned cashgrab of old mechanics.

But we all know that it'll sadly once again top charts during anniversary.

5

u/Obanai Mar 01 '26

True. I think it cool of them to do this kind of banner schedule where people can wait wether to pull for the new archetype or not.

2

u/Jeremithiandiah Mar 01 '26

Don’t look that rough to me

2

u/Ok_Communication4875 Mar 01 '26

I’m confused I felt the revenue they made was decent? Especially considering the budget , it’s not bad.

9

u/k1NGBHEE Mar 01 '26

Luuk really ruined aemeath's generational run....literally any other female character avg sales would've pulled it off lol

1

u/Ademoneye Mar 01 '26

Did you even check luuk’s revenue?

7

u/k1NGBHEE Mar 01 '26

Is there something I'm missing? Lol

4

u/Several-Quantity-440 Mar 01 '26

He's #35 in CN and #29 out of all 36 wuwa characters in JP. Competing for the worst banner ever.

4

u/Sufficient_Touch3586 Mar 01 '26

Now I see why HSR did so much 'collabs' in February.

5

u/Revolutionary_Map414 Mar 01 '26

My guess is that they were supposed to do some kind of minor collab, but the politics just f the whole thing. So now its just some pics on twitter.

2

u/Xtrm GI/HSR/ZZZ/WuWa/Nikke Mar 01 '26

I am hoping this release a new path every X.0 will backfire. It's such a scummy to sell light cones.

2

u/Logical-Secretary-21 Mar 01 '26

This new area is def the least interesting main zone that Hoyo has ever released, everything feels so cheap and generic, Amorphous character design was just so much better, the streamer culture is way too annoying be centered as the culture anchor for an entire region.

1

u/Cajiabox Mar 01 '26

and a banner that last for the whole patch, people is waiting for sparxie, ashveil etc

1

u/PoMatPlay Mar 01 '26

What if they released Cyrene as the first Amphoreus Character lmao

1

u/Goldfish_Muncher Mar 02 '26

It’s not just Yaoguang. Sparxie is just as bad since she’s a sub dps and her kit needs multiple elation units while the only one out is Yaoguang who she’s not even supposed to pair with.

And now we have Asheveil who they neutered to make him another sub dps for a team that isn’t out yet.

We’ve basically had 4 months of nothing but support/subdps units for old ass teams or teams not released. It’s bad

1

u/maxdragonxiii Mar 03 '26

to be fair i get why. at the same time- why? why cant they put Yao Guang much later, other than her being somewhat Chinese looking? you'll only pull for her if you know for sure Elation is your thing after the trial from Currency Wars with Sparxie and her tutorial which included a surprise! Sparxie! and on top of it... theres only 2 Elation units, and we got Sparxie this week. so for the whole month it just was Yao Guang as the lone Elation, and as a support lol.

1

u/MyLovelyForm Mar 07 '26

Technically WuWa have much more PC players since they also released on Steam as well +them not caring that much about mobile performance/experience. So I assume they kinda made most profit by far, I wouldn't be surprised if mobile revenue is only under 20% for them.

1

u/DarknessinnLight ZZZ/AKE/BD2/InfinityNikki Mar 01 '26

You weren’t kidding. Had to check twice. Has star rail ever been single digit before?

1

u/Snoo-90965 Mar 01 '26

HSR esta de baja, necesitan gente y por eso los collab con otros juegos como Fornite.

-4

u/Jumugen Mar 01 '26

She's ugly as shit too

Still sad for a X.0

7

u/Stormeve Mar 01 '26

I think I share the same negative opinion of her, not sure if I’d call her ugly exactly but she seems so generic to me. Doesn’t nearly give the same ‘oomph’ as Black Swan or Aglaea.

I think it might be because she looks similar to Zibai from Genshin. Two Chinese themed characters running at the same time, both mommies, white hair… like, wow, Mihoyo, that’s recipe #638 right there.
