rating boards are so inconsistent, CZN stays 12+ while half the catalog gets 18+. feels like it depends on who reviews it tbh

u/InvestigatorPrior813 12d ago

Who could possibly look at CZN and give it 12+? Lol

As it frankly should be

Predatory practices shouldn't be normalized to children

43

u/Ok_Respect_1004 13d ago

this is not the rating from Brazil. Families were in debt cause children were paying for gacha content...

63

u/FatalFrameGal 13d ago

Families are in debt because of the epidemic of online bets, cases of families falling into debt because of gacha games are probably nothing compared to that.

14

u/DevolayS Genshin Impact 12d ago

Maybe we should build special prisons for kids? This way they'll be monitored and protected 24/7 by government and nothing bad will happen to them.

And you can't disagree, as it would mean you're against protecting children.

u/Full-Mud-6901 Stella Sora/Azur Promilia 12d ago

Families falling apart because of gambling or gacha games—I've never seen that happen personally, but some kids definitely spend their parents' money on junk—is hardly the children's fault most of the time, probably around 90+ percent. I mean, why would you give your kid a phone with your card information on it, or make it easy for anyone to access your cards or money in general? Plus, phones and accounts have parental controls for a reason, yet people refuse to use them.

Technically gacha is an equivalent of bets in games.

22

u/leobdd 12d ago

It is, but to be fair, most gachas still have the guarantee aspect to it, online bets are either pure luck or rigged

8

u/Acrobatic_Garlic_ 12d ago

Yes, but gacha games are effectively a waste of money

In bets you technically have the opportunity to win back some money (even if it's extremely unlikely)

19

u/faulser 12d ago

This part is very important, but in another direction.

When spending on gacha you guaranteed know that you burned your money. If you spend money you really shouldn't have spend you can only suck it up and get over.

In money gambling having change to "get money" is what makes it so much worse. Because after you lose money you shouldn't have spend, you have this idea of "well, I was just unlucky, but if I continue I can get everything back, I just need to get a bit more money". And when you lose again - sunk cost fallacy really sets in, you *really* need to get those money back, surely eventually you'll win. And that's how people lose their cars and houses and shit.

And, from personal experience of living with gambling addict, there is nothing more sad than person who considers gambling as a "job that brings money", no gacha can compete with those amounts of delusion.

7

u/leobdd 12d ago

Any non-free game is a waste of money twin, none of it gives back anything besides happiness, same with gacha, and most of them are free anyways, you only pay if you want new characters or skins

4

u/Acrobatic_Garlic_ 12d ago

Yes, I agree, money spent on games is money spent on games

But please, don't come at me with the bullshit of "you only pay if you want", gacha games are designed to be as predatory as possible and they force you to spend if you want to be competitive or not have to spend weeks grinding. I've been a gacha player for almost 10 years, I know exactly how this market works

3

u/Umr_at_Tawil 12d ago edited 11d ago

from your comment history (hidden but I can still see them with third party tools), and from how you describe them, you play precisely zero of these games and is just bullshitting with misconception and prejudice you have in your head about them, all of which is completely wrong.

tell me, how are these games, with most of them being pve or story-based, "force you to spend if you want to be competitive", when there is no pvp or official leaderboard, when there is nothing to be competitive over?

there is a very small part of the playerbase who compete on speedrun time to clear the endgame mode, but that's like 0.001% who do it just to flex, because there is no reward for it, and the endgame is easy enough to clear with free character as long as you have some skill and get all the reward. but even then, the reward is so small that I've not been bothered to do it for a while now and it doesn't affect my enjoyment of these games at all.

list 3 of these games you have played, and what you "compete" over in those games that "force you to spend", I bet you can list none lmao.

also no, money spent on these game is never a waste because most them re-invest much of the money they made into making the game better: better graphic, better and bigger map expansion, better animated cinematic cutscenes, longer and better story ...etc... the production value and update frequency of these games are unmatched by any other type of live-service games, like, I used to play FFXIV and WoW, and those take months for update about the same content volume that these game pushes out every 6 weeks.

Well then we should also 18+ gachapon machines and similar arcades. And also random toys in Kinders and etc (well a bunch of countries alr banned it but for a different reason).  Limiting it only to games is kinda eh.

u/TorakWolfy 13d ago edited 9d ago

Gacha games are more dangerous than suprise toys because they provide with a service that is in a way more interactive, but also has no inherent concrete value.

It's horrifiyingly easy to convince kids (or even some adults) to dispose of a ton of money on virtual items they (somewhat correctly) assume will provide them with more fun than a piece of plastic, but if they stop caring about said virtual possessions, no matter the reason, they can't easily sell their collection and move on.

There are four reasons for that:

  1. A character may - and often is - dragged out of meta kicking and screaming so the next virtual toy gets the spotlight. It's disingenuous to use the "just don't care about the meta" argument when the games are designed to limit what you can do that is not participating in endgame content (refer to the insult meme "Resinless Behavior").
  2. The high stakes, high-cost casino ambient makes it so a lot of players are there precisely to satisfy their gambling addiction. This kind of player will NOT care about buying your virtual collectibles; They are here for the sake of gambling. Less demand = lower prices.
  3. Your game data belongs to the gacha live service provider. There's no contract binding you to them in particular, so they can choose to erase your account for selling as per ToS (and even though that is illegal in many countries, you won't be given back your account for winning a lawsuit, just your money plus restitution for your trouble), and if the game reaches EoS, you are not entitled to be refunded anything.
  4. It's all or nothing. You can't trade individual characters and gear. You must relinquish your ENTIRE game account to pass it forward, which is a complicated process in itself.

To sum it up: Gacha games are huge money sinks and brutal FOMO producers with hardly any way to revert bad decisions. It's too much for kids (and teenagers) to be able to safely navigate, even with the help of adults.

37

u/jellycattis 13d ago

while i play gacha games myself, i dont think theyre comparable to kinder eggs at all. its much more similar to actual gambling than a surprise toy in a cheap chocolate that doesnt even want you to collect them

23

u/ipedroni 13d ago

Exactly. The chocolate still gives you... well, chocolate. Gacha leaves you with nothing other than the "toy" inside, it's not a proper product.

2

u/viliml 12d ago

I don't see gacha games as gambling at all since I always roll until I get what I want, almost always with a guarantee's worth of currency saved up. It's just purchases with random discounts.

But I realize that most players are not like this.

9

u/Hawkeye_7Link 13d ago

Random toys in kinders are nothing like gambling. You're buying chocolate and getting a bonus thing. It would be similar to gambling if you paid the money but only had a chance to get the egg at all

Recent gacha update. Some players are protesting like that.

29

u/Expensive_Put_3338 There is no stoping those gacha dev from being greedy 13d ago

I'm quite intrigued as to how far this protest will go. With LaDS, there are still many back and forth going between people who got fed up with LaDS practice and the antis (they call people who oppose and harass them that). From what I heard, the antis in China is still heavily active on making sure that Valko stuff is going down. Going as far as to harass mall staff in every mall that has Valko ads (which were being erected from charities). This result in some malls banning LaDS ads all together. Making it effectively backfiring LaDS more. And of course Infold doing what they did best which is basically continuing business as usual and act as if nothing happen. They still got ratio'ed hard in Twitter at least. Every single announcement are still full of people wanting Valko back with more comment that likes.

Now I'm interested as to how far BA players can protest. I won't say that most LaDS player are heavily devoted to this whole boycott but they really make a visible dent everywhere. At the very least, nothing about LaDS will be safe from Valko. What about BA players tho, how do they boycott? If I have to be honest, if the only action that they did is to give BA bad ratings, thats just won't work. Iirc they can just remove some review on the grounds that it is spammy or bot. You have to make sure that many of the big spender truly stop spending like what happen to LaDS. Else this won't go anywhere.

27

u/Ok-Anywhere-1729 Wuthering Waves | Blue Archive | Trickcal 13d ago

Well BA players are very, very far away from what LADS players did (at least what I'm aware of).

From what I saw BA players spammed Steam and playstore with negative reviews and spammed comments on yt and etc with "return our spark" and stuff like this.
So it was kinda civil.

To note JP server is ahead of GL and GL haven't got new system yet, but GL players already did math (simulations and probability calcs) and math says that new system is generally somewhat better, especially after they announced rebate rewards.

For example if one needs only 1 rateup girl max cost is down from 200 to 160 with a 50% chance to get the character at 100 pulls. Failing 50/50 doesn't reset full progress. It's a bit more complicated for two targets but the worst scenario is down from 400 pulls to 320. I checked opinions of BA CC whom I trust (he really knows the game well) and some old players I know and they all are ok with new system.

I also did a survey in main sub at the day they announced rebate system and like 25% people said they'll quit the game if no changes will be made. 40% said they aren't happy about changes but will keep playing. I assume some of those 40% will stop whaling tho. Tbh BA is extremely f2p-friendly so it's not like whaling makes most of the game's money anyway.

As for now BA protests died down a lot. I checked JP yt comments a couple days ago and JP players don't say anything about gacha system change. There are like a couple English comments about this but JP players yell at them with like "read the room, go protest in game support mails". There is also "PvP thread" as I call it in BA's main sub and it mostly died too. I don't think protests will achieve anything at that point.

u/SailorMint Blue Archive | Trickcal 13d ago

If it had been the new system, I would have saved at least 60 pulls on the Foxes yesterday.

The Eleph packs are poorly implemented (and very situational), but they're also one of the rare things potentially worth spending money on.

8

u/Ok-Anywhere-1729 Wuthering Waves | Blue Archive | Trickcal 12d ago

Yeah I think the eleph packs pop up is too intrusive.

Before rebate system reveal I was skeptical but it's surprisingly generous.

10

u/SailorMint Blue Archive | Trickcal 12d ago

Trickcal's skin popups after uncaps kinda desensitized me to the popup themselves.
The 3 days duration is my biggest issue with them.

I know why they did it, but it should last for the entire duration of the banner (+/- grace period if need be).

8

u/Expensive_Put_3338 There is no stoping those gacha dev from being greedy 13d ago

I'm sorry that this happen to BA players, especially the EA part.

9

u/Ok-Anywhere-1729 Wuthering Waves | Blue Archive | Trickcal 13d ago

Well I just hope story's quality won't go down and there won't be weird stuff like "you need X character to read main story" (I was told this happened in MapleStory, which was published by BA dev). My account is quite developed so I can just chill and go waifu pulls only.

I think they change their gacha mechanics from Spark system into the classic Hoyofied 50/50 mechanics which the players didn't like it and they also employ a former EA Executive in their company, Nexon.

18

u/Puzzled_Ad_8904 13d ago

What's the spark system

62

u/Saya-_ 13d ago

You get points for every pull and at a specific number you can cash 8min those points to guarantee the character on the banner.

In BA it was 200, but the points could be used for any character in the featured banner. So if there were two banners at the same time you could throw 160 pulls on one banner, get the character, use 40 pulls on the second banner and if you didn't get that unit just use the points to spark them.

The change to 50/50 resets per character so if you're unlucky you'd need a lot more pulls to get all units

→ More replies (1)

22

u/Bay-Sea 13d ago

Basically 1 pull per point within the banner.

After 200 points, you get to exchange the points for any rate up character on the banner even if you already have the character.

4

u/BingQiLing958 13d ago

oh so like the Nikke ticket system?

20

u/Bay-Sea 13d ago

Something similar.

I think it is more in line with SD Gundam Eternal which is only for the banner.

Nikke's ticket is better as it carries over.

4

u/dalzmc GFL2/Nikke/Holodori/Genshin/HSR/ZZZ/Wuwa/Priconne/PJSK 13d ago

Exactly, except imagine gold mileage is banner specific and expires with the banner. It’s the standard for a lot of jp gachas historically and Nikke specifically makes them all feel extra outdated lol

5

u/Asherogar 13d ago

Generally, if you don't get the rate-up character in X amount of pulls, you get a copy of it for free or can "buy"/redeem it from the linked banner shop.

11

u/DarkSlayer3022 13d ago

Everytime you pull, you will get a token. After a certain amount. you can 'buy' the unit itself using that token. For BA, it is 200 pulls

Before this update, when you get the character early, the amount required to get the others got cheaper. Example, there is character A and character B that ran at the same time. You pull 100 times to get character A, so rather than spending another 200 pulls, you only need another 100 pulls to get character B.

The problem with this system is that they never have any carry over system (the only game that I know that did this is Nikke). If we want to assume Nexon isn't greedy (which I wouldn't put it pass them), they probably want to avoid people from leaving after spending like 50+ pulls and got nothing. They probably couldn't pull a Nikke and make the spark the spark carry over either as (looking from an outsider myself), they don't really have anything to pull player towards the shop besides the pull (Nikke sell $60 skin almost every two months). That's probably why Nexon decides to go with the Hoyo 50/50 system.

→ More replies (3)

52

u/a__new_name Trickcal, Zenless, WuWa 13d ago

It's actually even worse. In most of the HoYo-style games you get a five (or whatever the maximum rarity is) star off-banner character, you get counter reset and a guarantee on the next one. In BA you need to hit hard pity for both 50/50 and guarantee. Makes sense to change the system that way given the Blue Archive's large standard roster compared to typical HoYo-style game where most of the cast is limited. Does not make sense, however, to apply it to Blue Archive which was designed with spark in mind.

→ More replies (2)

12

u/Shadowcreature65 13d ago

Yeah, it's ever so slightly better than the old system statistically, but losing the 50/50 will feel terrible, so ppl hate it. Also, the gacha update was announced right along with anniversary updates without much elaboration, which made players think Nexon wanted to distract them while installing the new unfavorable system.

Tbh, if Nexon really wanted a simple quality of life update, they'd reduce the amount of currency needed for the spark without changing anything else.

2

u/viliml 12d ago

The hilariously ironic part is that the new system is supposed to make people think "wow this change is good" to stop them from getting angry at the enshittification of the game UI and more psychological tricks persuading you to buy jewel packs (just like how discounts make you spend more in the end despite individual items being cheaper), but the miscommunication made people think the gacha change itself was actually bad so now everyone is doubly angry.

Generational fuckup by the management.

Just so that people understand why.

These operate in a completely illegal zone, and prior to being properly age restricted they are operating under the gray zone of apps stores where app stores don't validate apps.

This is mostly a thing in Android.

Apple Store does not have this issue because they are way more restricted with what apps enter in their store.

Those that operate legally, are age restricted and are +18.

Nah, don't let them fool you... The biggests apps here in Brazil are cassinos and sports bets, which are not age restricted

Online Casinos ARE age restricted. Not sure about the age ratings, but I'm more or less certain that they can and will ban minor accounts or face serious lawsuits.

And mind you, those have ads on public tv!

So does booze. And so did tobbaco until the world decided that enough was enough some decades ago.

4

u/GlitchEkiz 13d ago

Is concistency too much to ask?

And no, if you go on Playstore right now they are not...

As for the ads, one is popular and public knowledge, one is a nieche genre of games... One face retaliation by every single person, one is conpletely fine to be... Again, is consistency too much to ask?

2

u/TorakWolfy 12d ago edited 12d ago

And no, if you go on Playstore right now they are not...

Age rating is just a label. Read the fine print (a.k.a legal disclaimer) and you'll see that casinos, physical or virtual, cannot offer their services to minors. And if they do try to do it anyway, they can face legal consequences.

Now, making sure that the law is followed is another can of worms...

As for the ads, one is popular and public knowledge, one is a nieche genre of games... One face retaliation by every single person, one is completely fine to be... Again, is consistency too much to ask?

If with consistency you mean "remove the age ratings of Gachas" then yes, it IS too much to ask. Gachas shouldn't be played by minors, period. Anything that signals this much to the public is correct in existing, regardless of it possibly representing a failure in legal isonomy.

This all-or-nothing way of thinking of yours (either everyone gets served a beating or no one does) is a fallacy; More specifically, a spin to "False Dilemma".

But I do agree that "bets" should be curb stomped to death. They deserve the worst, legal and illegal.

u/Trollkkk 13d ago edited 10d ago

I know why you people are saying "as it should be", and I get your point, for real. I also think gambling games should be +18, but the reality in Brazil is way worse than you think.

That law is supposed to protect our children from that kind of stuff (you can search about "Lei Felca" or "ECA digital" if you want to know more), which is pretty cool, right? But then you realize this law only applies to a small fraction of things involving gambling.

If you guys don't know, gambling houses (or "bets") ARE PERMITTED in Brazil. By the law, these apps should have a +18 tag on them? Well, they don't. The majority of them (if not all of them) are RATED G (free for everyone to use/download). When I made this comment, I remembered that apps of this type were rated G, but they've changed. At least, this part is not true anymore, but the part below is.

Brazilian people have a massive problem with gambling addiction. There's always news about someone selling their house, car, or even ending their own life because of this. It's a serious problem. Unfortunately, bets have just become a part of Brazilian society. You walk around and see ads for them everywhere (literally). When the World Cup was live, the commentators made ads for bets all the time.

I'm just saying all this to give you guys some context. Even if I think it's great that gacha games get a +18 rating, the situation in Brazil runs way deeper.

Also, some games just left the stores after that. Limbus company, for example, can't be downloaded from the App Store anymore. Most Bandai games (including non-gacha ones) are gone too. The P5X team also stated the game might no longer be available in Brazil in the near future.

Well, that's just sad.

43

u/Falsus Granblue Fantasy 13d ago

It's similar here in Sweden.

For example Swedish people can't even use the Twitch gamba points, the ones that you get for just watching and has zero monetary worth because it is gambling.

Meanwhile I am bombarded with actual real money gambling and casino ads all over the place.

→ More replies (1)

20

u/CuLancer 13d ago

Yeah, that's true. I agree with gachas being +18 but the gambling addiction in Brazil is WAY worse and actually allowed by the current laws... And they target even more people than these gacha games, since we see bet ads everywhere, from TV to social media and even on public transportation.

There's also the issue of social media (Discord, Twitter) being +18 which requires facial identification.

Also, the "Lei Felca" was made with the purpose of "protecting kids from predadors" on the internet, but in reality, it does not, kids can use their parents' PC or Smartphones to play games and bypass easily security measures.
And most important, it doesn't help to arrest these predadors at all, basically, you remove the childrens of the park and let the predadors walking there.

8

u/TorakWolfy 12d ago

Also, the "Lei Felca" was made with the purpose of "protecting kids from predators" on the internet, but in reality, it does not, kids can use their parents' PC or Smartphones to play games and bypass easily security measures.

Having to use the parent's devices is already a good outcome. That's not why this law sucks.

It sucks because:

  • It mainly targets environments that are not supposed to be visited by children. They can still, for instance, play Roblox with no obstacles, and run into predators 5 minutes in.
  • It made mandatory giving up on your anonymity at a dangerous level. Don't get me wrong: Your data is everywhere and your digital footprint won't be any worse because of facial identification. But having your biometrics and government documents in some data bank is a liability in the sense that hackers can and will steal this information and then sell it to scammers.

And most important, it doesn't help to arrest these predators at all, basically, you remove the children of the park and let the predators walking there.

Well, if that was what it accomplished, then it would be great... Because keeping kids safe is the (supposed) main objective, not satisfying anyone's yearning for revenge. If all the (potential) predators are still out there but they are unable to commit any crimes (or defend their ideas), you may as well think of them as inexistent.

For more context: Real Bet or sport bet apps on Brazil AREN'T 18+

19

u/OverlyDeadInside 13d ago

That screenshot only includes clandestine games that make through Google's filters and/or exploit a loophole like redirecting the user to a different APK. I always report them and they're gone a while later.

Search for "bet" instead and you'll see that 99% of sports bet apps are 18+.

I'm pretty sure they are. Which doesnt mean anything since the majority of people addicted in gambling are adults, going as far as taking out their lives when their life is ruined by it. But since the gambling lobby is strong, the government allows it.

Or maybe they do and all that betting app give some "revenue" to the government(?)

These people are trying to frame it unfavourable because they dont like the current government. I get it, because i too dont like it, but theyre kinda bending the truth. All legalized gambling apps are +18. The ones that arent, arent legal, and if you report them play store takes them out. I think this is wrong, all these fucking apps should be Absolutely illegal regardless of the person's age.  But our governments are cowards and greedy bastards, they simply legalized the apps to get revenue from them via taxes. the fact of the matter is, it is literally a crime to enable minors to gamble, and the apps or games that try to circumvent this are criminals under the law.

5

u/_RyanCooper_ Elite Kurobot 13d ago

And how will it stop you from playing? (Unless you need a passport verification)

4

u/LadyErikaAtayde 12d ago

In Brazil every citizen has an iD card with picture, social securiey number equivalent and other data. You must screen those to most apps to acess +18 things, like on Twitter or Discord.

2

u/_RyanCooper_ Elite Kurobot 12d ago

Damn, in Russia government just bans everything, so people simply use VPN

2

u/LadyErikaAtayde 12d ago

Yeah that's probably what will happen there, but the most young don't know about VPNs (yet)

6

u/Sgrin521 13d ago

How exactly does Brazil handle verification of users at this point exactly? because where other people are saying "good", Im hearing alarm bells with regards to data.

10

u/CuLancer 13d ago

As far as I know, there are a few games that are asking for age verification with a photo of your face and your personal ID if you try to buy anything, which is an enormous red flag. Other games simply removed the option to buy anything at all. I only play FGO and Umamusume, both don't have any of this yet.

But social media and porn sites are asking for age verification. For example, you can use Twitter and Discord normally, but it will ask for age verification if you want to see any content marked as NSFW.

7

u/Sgrin521 13d ago

At the game level? so for each game, their servers/ whoever they "partner" with, on top of all the social media and NSFW plus whoever they partner with. meaning the average gacha player there who pays would leave plenty of data points floating around? and BOTH face and ID?

thats a red flag that defies size descriptors, and stinks of data breach targets. just invites further questions... thanks for the info.

3

u/No-Introduction1948 13d ago

Na real essas verificações são uma grande porcaria é fácil contornar, as crianças usam AI. Eles dizem que os dados serão deletados ou não serão salvos, mas sabemos que isso é só conversa.

2

u/Sgrin521 13d ago

using a translator to get the gist, sorry.

the user risk increase occurs for the people who think there is none or can't understand the potential of it. if it really is as The other poster said, then your dealing with to many breach vectors.

2

u/No-Introduction1948 12d ago

They really don't get what's going on. Last year here in Brazil, a company was 'paying' people to have their irises scanned and plenty actually went. I support the idea on paper, but in practice it's clearly more about control than actual protection. The verification is a joke, the data isn't safe, and in the end, it's the users who take it seriously that end up exposed. Meanwhile, the kids keep slipping through, and we're just left as the targets

2

u/Sgrin521 12d ago

In practice it's about control and money, because an entire data industry is flourishing under the sudden push for all this.

but people flat out served up their data like that? at this point im amazed there just isn't more breach news and frauds being reported than there already is. irreplaceable data served up en masse. Data protection just feels far to lax when you know in the end it's not a matter of if data is leaked/stolen, but when... that makes it a move i can't agree upon as things are. Maybe if the methods were different, and that's a big maybe, but not now.

4

u/Plane-Comparison1337 13d ago

There is no more freedom. It's basically our ID for watching porn, watching a movie on Netflix, or things like that. No government should have laws that end the freedom of the individual. They are just games, who has to have responsibility are the parents and not the government. Are people getting that dumb?

2

u/Sgrin521 13d ago

from what im seeing it's worse than I expected. and I do agree with your take on this stuff being freedom breaking.

A lot of people aren't thinking enough steps out about the things they say they'd like to see happen. they just think something looks good on it's face and nod their heads without realizing the issues in doing that.

2

As a Brazilian, I see this as a recent law, enacted due to a "butterfly effect" triggered by the fallout from a video about the "adultification" of children—which, broadly speaking, served as a Trojan horse, given that we are in the midst of a presidential election season.

Yes, they make us prove our identity providing personal sensitive information. Also yesterday, local laws restricted Discord to everyone, so for now we can't livestream (without vpn), and it could get even worse.

Lately, they've been focusing a lot on games and anything related to them, all because it's supposedly "to protect children from predators," but that doesn't actually solve anything!

3

u/Plane-Comparison1337 13d ago

tbh, as a brazilian, i SOMEWHAT agree with that.

''Brazil’s Law No. 15,211/2025, known as the Digital Statute of Children and Adolescents (ECA Digital), establishes rules for protecting children and adolescents online. It imposes obligations on digital platforms and technology providers whose products or services are directed at, or likely to be accessed by, minors. The law requires measures to prevent and mitigate risks such as sexual exploitation, abuse, harmful contact, inappropriate content, and other forms of online harm.

It also establishes requirements concerning age assurance, parental supervision, privacy and data protection, online games, social media, advertising, and the moderation of harmful content. Platforms must adopt appropriate and proportionate safety measures while respecting children’s privacy and developing capacities.

The law applies regardless of where the company or service is located, as long as the product or service is directed at or likely to be accessed by children or adolescents in Brazil.''

what does that mean? it means that you even have to take a photo of your documents and validate your age in many games to even use chat or buy things, not just ''im over 18 years and i agree''. i tried to buy some shit on nte and i had to take a photo of my id lol. the only thing i dont like about it is the fact that i dont fucking like to take photos of my id and pray that companies dont sell my credentials. thats why MANY people are against it. btw, this all took start in this video that you may have heard about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpsCzFGL1LE . it has english subtitles if you wanna watch.

6

u/Plane-Comparison1337 13d ago

u/Noble_Steal 13d ago

The neuron just goes like this:

gambling = bad

If we say "you need to provide your private info - including your face - for the evil company", suddendly they change their minds, hopefully.

It gets even funnier when there's significantly worse things that the kids can access with two words on their brownser, much easily than games (porn sites).

8

u/generico2560 13d ago

And even the browser thing can be avoided if the parents actually did their job, they could easily search how to block any site through the router.

6

u/Noble_Steal 13d ago

Exactly.

I don't see how the govern taking over to watch your kids for you is a good thing, especially when they demand your (kid or adult) private information to "guarantee" the security.

Just a reminder that is frequent you seeing Kids betting on betting plataforms in school, things like prostitute sites are sponsor for football teams, there is a lot of places selling cp ,but gacha games are ilegal and New law make animations that include minors doing violent or sexual despiction is crime now(yeah, that one anime that is a slice of life and for some reason show the main girl panties for seconds is more problematic than a atual CP porn being advertising in every main social media here)
