Tell me a Tale A Return To your Gacha
Have you ever left a game for whatever reasons and after some time, randomly or for whatever reasons come back and got really into it and have been playing it daily?

u/Maleficent-Chair9663 4d ago
I don’t know how common this is, but when I quit a gacha, that’s final and I never come back. I’ll still occasionally follow leaks or watch cutscenes/trailers, but that’s the extent of it.
Any time I quit one, it’s a weight off my shoulders, and when I remember why I quit, I don’t look back
17
u/starcross1994 4d ago
Yup, same. If I quit a game I usually delete the account so I can't go back even if I feel like it later since having to grind a new account is too much. Every time, once I quit I end up feeling better. A lot of gatcha games now a days requires way too much of your time and a lot of the newer ones end up feeling like a chore once you play for a while.

u/Lycelyce 2d ago
Especially for a game that need big storage (like 10 GB or more), tbh it helps you to not come back playing them again. I'm not gonna download through all of that, only to reminds me why I dropped the game in the first place in 1 hour later.

This is how I felt with every idol/rhythm gacha I ever played, I haven't experienced it with other gachas yet though.

Nah, when I try to return, I usully delete same day

Because the magic that pulled you in the first place is gone. I was like that with WWM.

u/PsychologicalTears 3d ago
That, and sometimes you see that the games still didn't got the QoL you wanted.

Several, most notably:
- Reverse 1999 - had several large "break" times before 1.9, then I've been playing near constantly since
- Genshin Impact - just recently came back with the release of Snezhnaya; last time I was this active was back in Inazuma era, and now I have a functional Stellar-Conduct team and currently trying to catch up with the story

u/Competitive_Wrap_607 4d ago
No, lol. You get bored after a week, do dailies, feels nothing different, then went hiatus again.

u/Tomoe741 4d ago
In my case, that's arknights. At first the gameplay didn't click for me and left for a while, but later i returned during a limited banner and couldn't stop playing, then the lore and the male characters just grabbed my ahh for life... And here i am, playing it daily. Also, as a big fan of roguelikes, Arknights has one of the best systems so far, not even mentioning the different themes, lore and mechanics. I've maxed every single one and im currently waiting for the next one!

u/Nerezza_Floof_Seeker AK/AKE 3d ago edited 3d ago
Yep, AK was the only one like this for me too. I started on release, quit because i didnt get skadi (funny in hindsight) but then came back for Dusk of all characters; but somehow the 2nd time around the whole tower defense stuff just clicked for me and ive played ever since.
For reference ive also tried and failed at this with HSR (left briefly due to 1 month vacation; then rejoined until i quit last week because i got bored/powercreep), Azur Lane (I burnt out from the powercreep especially as i wrote guides for that game, and then rejoined a couple months ago and realized everything just got worse so left again), GFL (didnt like the combat system both times), PGR (too much effort both times)

u/Kaguya-sama Giving Erpin noogies. Why isekai when have Toram? 4d ago
I do this on non gacha games. I rarely do it on online games.
6
u/Banished_gamer Azur Lane/Arknights/FGO/Blue Archive 4d ago
I can't leave azur lane for more than a week. I can remove all the other gachas, but i just can't leave azur lane.
5
u/Grak47 4d ago
Did this with trickal not because it was a bad game but just because i didn't have the time for it. Now I'm back for good and have been enjoying my time pinching cheeks.

u/MijumaruFan FGO/IMAS/BA 3d ago
I can relate to this, I love that game but it's not on my top priority. I'll still pop in from time to time.
5
u/xxkittygurl 4d ago
I have, but the reason why I quit in the first place was because when I was pregnant my motion sickness became really bad, to the point of puking after playing a half hour, and plus I didn’t have much energy either. So now that baby is here my motion sickness is gone back to its usual tolerable level and I have much more energy back! (Although sleep is another issue now lol)

u/Kool-Aid-King 4d ago
Once I leave a gacha game for a long time, it’s pretty much impossible for me to get back into it completely. I can maybe last a week or two before I lose interest again.
3
u/BlueAmber5 4d ago
I mean genshin, but it was just a case of burning out then coming back after hiatus, happened like twice but I liked the game enough to eventually come back.
3
u/Lying_Cupcake316 4d ago
I Left arknights endfield right after I got Yvonne and just stopped, then I came back at the most recent update and I play it almost every other day. I Also left Infinity Nikki after the 1.5 disaster and just recently came back to it and I adore it Im just not willing to drop money on the gacha for it.
3
u/buddabopp 3d ago
Zzz for me, played 1.0 and 1.1 hated the tv stuff left the game got a little interested when they removed it but dident pick it back up till right before 2.0 dropped and now i love it

u/BluHor1zon HSR/Genshin/ZZZ/GBF/BA/AK:EF/UMA/GFL2/StarSavior 3d ago
Yeah I just think its alright to take breaks from games when I feel the burnout creep up, better to stop than to play and get increasingly frustrated. If upon returning I still dont find the fun then I just leave for good.
So far thats me with Uma Musume recently, and previously it was Arknights.

Path to Nowhere is the perfect answer to me. I started playing because they were hearsays about it collabing with JoJo, and the game really blew my expectations in terms of the art and story. I also really enjoyed the complexity of the gameplay, since it is really unique in the realm of gacha games.
So I started playing the game, saving up lots of pulls in hopes to max out the JoJo characters, even playing the game gacha-less. However, months gone by and nothing came out of it. Turns out, the collab only happened in CN servers. A few weeks after that, I kinda just moved on from the game, kinda lost motivation.
But I guess one day, for some reason, I got bored and the game popped into my mind. The next thing I know I started playing it again. That was about 2 years ago now, and I've been really loving the game. Genuinely one of my favorite games of all time.
Also, the welcome-back event is MARVELOUS. Probably the most clever one I've seen!

u/NaturalAd285 Limbus | HSR | ZZZ 4d ago
Yes. It only happened with zenless zone zero, when I usually quit a gacha then it's final. Mostly because I just didn't like it, or thinking that if I came back after so much time, I'd have already missed so much stuff and deal with fomo. I came back to zzz because they gave out jane doe for free recently, and I always wanted her when I started, got back into the story and got hooked, I'm not regretting it despite missing a few banners I'd very much want.

u/vansky257 3d ago
Mine's ZZZ. I'd taken a break after Astra Yao patch because I got bored and got into WuWa, which I quit because stupid waifuslop trash with no actual plot. I came back during Yuzuha patch, but was having PC troubles, which forced me to quit. I pulled for Nangong when her banner came out, but didn't stick around. It was until Remielle came out that I've fully invested myself back into the game. I skipped the entire China patch because it's shit, and Roscaelifer has been great so far.
3
u/IamNowDepressed 2d ago
Remielle is the embodiment of waifuslop dude
-1
u/vansky257 2d ago
Remielle actually has a personality outside of Wise/Belle. WuWa characters just glaze Rover and fall in love with him first sight.

u/DKligerSC 4d ago
I starred genshin back when it released and never got oast liyue...... until they announced varessa, then I went back and rushed sryff up to sumeru for now

u/XWasTheProblem Wuthering Waves 4d ago
GFL - I bounced off it initially when it became available in the west, came back a few months later and got really into it.
2
u/noirdata 4d ago
Never. When I come back to any dropped gacha I last one hour or less.
It's a shame because I really like the idea of CZN, and I also liked the story and characters of Stella Sora.
2
u/acehydro123 4d ago
Arknights because PC client exists now. ZZZ because I have more time now and I’m not juggling as much gachas (I quit the other games).
2
u/GASIMA 3d ago
Usually I come back and quit again after a week, max. But most recently I loaded up my Genshin account from 1.0. It's so delightfully 2020 - my standout characters are Venti, Mona and Gene lol! Anyways I've really had a great time and been playing steady for about a month with no intentions on quitting for now!
2
u/One_True_Seven_7 3d ago
Reverse:1999. Stopped playing it regularly around 1.5-ish due to storage space and only logged in irregularly. Decided to pick it up again properly in 3.2 and have played it fully since then for 6 months now, only missing like 7 days total of log ins.
2
u/aleatoric 3d ago
I came back to Wuwa. I played launch through like 1.2 and got busy with other things. I didn't come back until the launch of 3.0. I caught the preview of the style for 3.0 and I really dug it. Startorch Academy and all the mech stuff, I loved it. I stuck through that whole storyline, and liked nearly all the new characters. The Cyberpunk crossover was peak. Unfortunately my interest is waning with 3.5 and now 3.6. Feels like filler and the new area... Not my favorite. But I still enjoy the combat, and no other gachas really feel as good as it does. I want to stick with it at least long enough to see what 4.0 is all about.

u/Anonymous_0013 3d ago
Took a break from Genshin for about a year and a half. Not rreally a meta player so clearing the Abyss Floor 11 was enough for me. Cam back because I logged in and luckily pull Arlecchino and her weapon with very little primos in hand. Still unbuild though because her mats are story locked but since then have been playing consistently and got the more recent characters that I like i.e. Zibai, Varka,Columbina, Nicole. The recent buffs to some old characters also helped and I can actually use the Traveller, Cyno and Qiqi (this is special because Qiqi was my first 5 star back when I didn't know about losing to a standard character and was just happy to get a 5 star).
Genshin is only the game I successfully got back into because some games have meta that us so hard to keep up with that I just get discouraged getting back into like in R1999 or Arknights.

u/nirvash530 3d ago
This is basically my relationship with Wizardry Daphne.
- Download the game.
- Play the game.
- Grind endlessly.
- Get frustrated.
- Uninstalls.
- Repeat step 1 after some time.
2
u/One_Stuff3625 3d ago
I stopped playing Umamusume because of how long it could take to do dailies. And just got bored of how bad it ran on my phone. But since they added independent training, I can do my dailes in 5 minutes now as long as I had a auto training going the day before.
2
u/UzD_HolySheep 3d ago
That's exactly my story with ZZZ.
I had a bad habit of starting a game, tinker a little with the graphics settings, finish the tutorial ...
... and then "It's all set up for tomorrow!" , and never come back lol.
With ZZZ, it went almost the same way at launch: I was forced to do the tutorial first, and then, after finishing with the settings stuff, closed the game, and didn't come back until one month before their first anniversary.
Since then (1.7 onwards), I've never missed a day 🔥.

The moment i dropped the “endgame” mindset, everything is really enjoyable again and i came back to hsr wuwa and zzz. What i mean is “if i don’t get all rewards for endgame idgaf” especially games like hsr where the moey is used to raise the dmg ceiling (and a bit of quality) 1 50/50 loss or 1 wrong pull can wreck your account so if my goal is to enjoy the game and story instead of full starwards, let me be that stage11 andy 🙂↔️🙂↕️

u/Lord_Lilac_Heart 3d ago
My relationship with Zenless Zone Zero is a funny one. I have had many criticisms and complaints about Hoyo gachas ever since Genshin's release, enough to write essays upon essays about both it and HSR. When it came to ZZZ, I took a long break from the game during Season 2 like many. At some point, I even believed I had fully given the game up.
But something nagged at me. In theory, ZZZ addresses many of the complaints I'd nurtured about Genshin and HSR in the past. It does many things right, even if there are wrongs. It's supposed to be the game I ought to like because of its qualities...right? Harboring that thought for a while, I eventually returned to the game to confirm my suspicions. I decided it wasn't fair to judge the game's narrative and write it off as one of "poor quality" until I read through it for myself instead of forming my impressions based on the verdicts of other people parroting the empty-brained takes of streamers.
I did it, for better and for worse. I slogged through the game's most brutally criticized and boring main narrative within three work days. I did 2.1 all the way to 2.8, actually. The Suibian Temple arc hogging the limelight from 2.0 - 2.5 had been the culprit for my lack of interest. Re-engaging with the game when it was doing what it did best (Angels of Delusion, Seed's Agent Story, and the 2.7-2.8 main narrative leading up to Season 3) helped me realize ZZZ truly did have the potential to realize Hoyo's greatest strengths. What little enjoyment I felt in 2.0 - 2.5, the story of 2.6 - 2.8 had been able to pique my interest once again.
Genshin, while having improved even after I gave up playing all the way back in Sumeru, will probably never see me play again. HSR, for as long as I have stuck with it despite its flaws, has continued to disappoint me in every way conceivable. ZZZ, while imperfect, still carries vestiges of the vision it had launched with. Its gameplay is fun and high-octane, its character dialogue is fun instead of being wearisome, its NPCs are amazingly designed, and its execution of ideas in both main narrative and side story has improved considerably since its blunders in Season 2.
Perhaps a bit of it can be chalked up to the three voice actors serving as directors that help immensely with dialogue and voice direction (Amber Leee Connors, Alexis Tipton, and Molly Zhang my GOATS) which have helped pave the way for recent new additions like Cissia and Sigrid to shine. It can't be stressed enough how the voice acting of recent ZZZ patches has elevated the game's storytelling.
Another contributor is its community and content-creator space. ZZZ managed to free itself of many of the "popular" content creators, specifically those who play many of the popular gachas at once. In turn, this made way for new creators to occupy healthy niches in the community. Putting aside that Molly Zhang streams the game fairly regularly and helps create a unique bridge between VAs and her viewers, the content creators engaging with ZZZ now don't engage in the sort of behavior that leads fans to engage in tribalism and game-to-game comparisons. The community in a healthier state now and the overall vibe is pretty good.
All of those things served to help bring me back into ZZZ. Maybe I'll leave and take a break again, who knows? Right now, I'm enjoying myself a lot.

u/PexeLukive Another Eden 3d ago
3/4 of my current main gachas are ones I returned to after “quitting”/long hiatus lol
Genshin - ragequit Oct 31 2021 after not being able to get a 4* con from shop in time before reset, came back in Oct 2022 after Sumeru released because I missed the characters and exploration. Have been playing ever since, with occasional shorter breaks and login-for-welkin-only periods
Project Sekai - quit sometime in Nov 2022 due to favorite group not getting good events/being sidelined by devs and fanbase for a while, came back June 21 2025 after seeing IRL promo for my faves’ album release and finding out that the next ingame cards I wanted were going to be running in limited banner soon. Have consistently played daily ever since, and now I’m really into the tiering (leaderboard climbing) scene lol
WuWa - quit July 2025 due to current character releases really not being my tastes + no rerun or story relevance for my favorite characters for a long time, came back July 10 2026 because said characters finally got their reruns and apparently appear in the new story. I haven’t gotten to that point in story yet but I’ve been really enjoying Lahai Roi story and catching up on exploration. Too soon to tell how long I’ll stick this time but considering my track record on the previously mentioned games I may be around for a while

Yes, several times. Persona, Ever Crisis and Sword of Convallaria for example. Disliked them at first, was full into them on my second or third try. Same with Isekai Slow Life. Happens a lot as I am easily bored and rarely play gachas for more than one or two months.
My next one will be Resonance Solstice for the anniversary and SD Gundam G Generation early next year.

Fgo. I play both JP and Global, both mostly only during lotto events, anniv and summer, christmas and new years. I usually play, get super engrossed in team building, then eventually get bored since after doing the big events and catching up on the story, there is not a lot left to do in the game so I just log off and forget about it for months lmao. Because powercreep isn't bad (in jp, the most broken unit was basically given to us for free since the banner dropped with a whopping free 1000sq or around 350 pulls), I dont really feel like I missed out on too much whenever I come back
I also stopped playing hsr when I was too busy irl back when most of the qol changes weren't shipped yet. But ever since they made the dailies quick and easy I just never stopped logging in

u/ImitationGold 4d ago
Genshin is like yearly for me.although recently exploring for like 50ish hours and getting fucked by the gacha over and over has taken its toll on me
I intend to come back to PGR to finish the story just the powercreep and how systematic it is bugs me.
Just recently came back to Endfield after getting burnt out by the factory system. I am not an architect and I was fucking around in there for around 30 hours

u/Negative-Tax-2196 4d ago
Return? Sure. Keep playing? No.
Best example is prob GBF, super fun on events to pull characters... but having to grind and progress on that game... its umbearable, and smh its even worse nowadays the amout of grind you need to do.

Reverse 1999. Took an 8-month break because of Brazil, wasn't sure if I'd come back, then Ulrich happened. Had to login to grab him, then started catching up with the game's story and really liked Moldir and loved ch 9 and ch 10 was a ride and omg Ms Grace is amazing and
I've had lulls since then -- took another break during the recent CN patch because I wasn't feeling it -- but it hasn't lost my attention for more than a patch at a time since then. And we're getting Ms Stranger in a week (another NPC fave playable at last), so...

The only time i did this is with arknights, was there on launch, and quit around the first anniv after getting bored Came back in the third year for a while, later dropped it once more due to life reasons.
Decided to give endfield a whirl, but all it did was make me want to play the OG game more than anything. Right now I'm back and starting off fresh once again (lost my acc) around the 6,5 anniv, and have been playing for 3 months daily. I'm actually not proud of how much time and money this game has sucked from me. I just love the game, from the story, characters, design, music, etc. but at the end of the day it is a game, and the gameplay is the reason why i keep coming back. Maybe I'll be burnt out yet again, but i can always see myself coming back here for some reason, it's a comfort food.
I don't usually come back to a game after i drop them, I've tried most of the 3d gacha games with other 2d titles. I still keep up with the news though.

u/Arawn_Lucifer 3d ago
No. I tried returning to several when I saw videos about them popping off, but once I installed and logged in, it just didn’t click and remember there was a reason I quit in the first place. No more excitement to play anymore.

u/MultySentinelz Arknights, Arknights Endfield 3d ago
Yes, OG Arknights, I was a day one player and had a very good account, I ended up getting burnt out and decided to ditch the game and delete my account cold turkey.
Than the first Monster Hunter Collab happened and i decided to come back and have been playing it ever since in a much healthier way than before.

Just happened to me in fate grand order. But I have a pretty good reason for playing daily again.

Genshin Impact.
I suspend Genshin Impact after Sigewinne (focusing on other Gacha) but came back during Columbina banner. Been catching up to AQ since then, just now entering Snezhnaya.

Azur Lane. it was my first ever gacha but I left for reasons I can’t recall. now I’m back and the skins have gone full degenerate, so aside from being annoyed at their stupidly excessive fanservice, I try to stick to the gameplay and the story.

Nikke— I always comeback when a Collab happens, got really into it and have been playing it daily? Not got into but there's always a login event for collab like 3 weeks(?) where you can get a limited A rank Collab and her dupes so I played daily.

u/Few_Koala8537 3d ago edited 3d ago
I tried coming back to HBR three times ,even trying to create a sunk cost by spending money on paid banners but failed every time. I'm currently waiting for the P5R collab ,if that flops too, I'm quitting for good and just waiting for the anime or for someone to post the story on YouTube. The Global version is so far behind JP, plus there's already powercreep, accelerated banner schedules, and "pull this banner or brick your account" .. It feels bad pulling on any banner knowing the devs can turn my character into dogshit whenever they want—especially with the new character rarity introduced in the JP version.
1
u/DereDere00 FGO | HoloDori 3d ago
I guess FGO, I did quit for a year and a half and I kinda miss my servants so went back. Recently I finished OC3 and I'm just waiting for Hakunon rate up in the fp banner so I can 120 her.
I could also include arknights but I did drop it the second time recently and I don't think I'll get back to it. It's a fun game don't get me wrong, but I don't feel like playing it anymore so the logical thing to do is to drop the game.
1
u/SonicBoom500 3d ago
I left Epic Seven a few times cause I was juggling too many games for the most part, but I also eventually phased out cause it’s rather PvP centric and I’m more of a PvE player 😅

u/zephyranthrust 3d ago
for me is Heaven Burns Red,
- played the JP version, got bored because the main story took too long to release + the side story fell off hard (mermaid village looking at you).
- played the JP again because global release, got overwhelmed because the META shift and my team couldn't catch up,
- started playing in global until i catch up to the main story. hiatus again until the game catches up to where i left off in JP.
- Now i'm playing it everyday.

I have 2 type of gacha I play. one is that I care about and the other is mostly just time waster or place for gacchaddiction release (YOLO pulls).
for the former one I don't come back when I put them down. for the latter, I do go back to them every now and then after putting them down for some time.
for the former type: HI3rd, Genshin, PGR (no intention to go back)
for the latter type: HBR, R1999, wuwa (I go back every now and then and just to pull then log off)

Summoners war & Arknights hiatus for arround 2 years and still going strong for now
1
u/Fishman465 3d ago
I don't really do that though the closest I'd consider is AK if I drop nearly every other game as my hiatus wasn't so much a quit lack of various space. Everything else has been a clean break for one reason or another
1
u/ThenOwl 3d ago
I left Genshin for about a year. Came back in the middle of Natlan because I liked character designs. And I've always enjoyed exploration. The reason I dropped it back then ithat I remember was that it had blatant time wasters in daily routine. It annoyed me enough to drop the game despite liking other parts a lot.
1
u/ArvingNightwalker 3d ago
Left genshin in like 1.6? Came back and did basically nothing for a month, then started playing every day after returnee benefits expired.
Left HSR in 1.1. Came back last month and has been playing every day.
I would probably restart E7 again if I could get my account back but that's still in the works >_>

Me with Wuwa because I was so bored with no quests other than dailies. Had a break 2 times, but now I think I will stay tuned because I had 1 year break and It bothered me too much...
Now I am happy that I can grind achivements. Besides dailies Im not overwhelmed by every side quest that sits here and waits for me to do it

I usually come back for Qol updates.
Dislyte - which I have a love hate relationship with.
Path to nowhere - I just come back for new characters.
Brown dust 2 - laggy asf
Limbus - I love the story, not the gameplay, also laggy asf.
Arknights - I wasn't very into it back then, I gave it a second chance. I honestly I have no idea why I stopped, it's a godsend.

u/Anxiety-Incarnate 3d ago
Arknights. When i first played it, I had no idea what to do and… well… the game was really NOT optimized for casual playing…
20 min annihilation with some errors here and there, manually having to run each single run, manually pressing daily rewards one by one, manually switching operators from factories into dormitories and vice versa, and so on.
It was NOT likeable. Really wanted to play it because my younger brother praised it a lot.
Came back after all the QoL and also feel like I’ve gotten an enlightenment and learnt how to play, and have stuck with it since Shu (i think) first came out.
Oh right, Shu was one of the reasons I got back into AK, her design is gorgeous.

u/Every-Anywhere2024 3d ago
I did this with gl2, always goes on and off because I quite like the game but it can be tedious after a while. I also did the same with crk, lc, tbc, r1999, morimen, bd2, and pgr. I like these games but they do get tedious after a while so I need to uninstall them for a while to recharge.
1
u/LightningStar1393 3d ago
With me it tends to be on and off with some gacha's. If nothing happens or events start getting stale I drop it but the second I see something amazing or something catches my eye im back in it again. This usually happens every 3-6 months in my case.

Only game I've successfully returned to is FGO. I quit right when the third Halloween event began because I just got too salty over not getting Tamamo on any of her banners. Crawled back a year later (hilariously right after that event's rerun ended) and spent a couple months catching up on the story, being really annoyed that whatever events ran at the time locked me out because of my lack of story progress, and almost quit on Benienma's event. Used up literally all my quartz and finally got Tamamo on my last roll. So I guess I've been held captive since.
Oh and I guess I returned to Dragalia Lost when it got a proper EU release and they fixed the controls so charged attacks were easy to pull off mid combo. Otherwise, other games I came back too were just too overloaded with new modes and pop ups and whatever else and put me right off again.

Yes, to Wuwa and Genshin.
I became a low spender (monthly) and F2P though respectively, when I used to be a medium/ big spender.
The games still have some things I like but, I'm no longer enjoying them enough to spend more and support their decisions. Life obligations are also a factor for gacha budget

I come back to Blue archive anytime a good meme abt it came up or some great music appear on my ytb page

u/dandoyramos 3d ago
Did it many times with guardian tales and hsr. Loved both games, after a month though I remember why I quit, gacha games feels more like work than enjoyment and it sucks out the fun when dailies and missables gives you sense of fomo.

Punishing Gray Raven is the only one game that I actually go back to after like 2 years and was still able to catch up and adjust to new stuff because of its QoL. Even managed to get the characters that I missed either by chance or from free stuffs
The rest are outright impossible. For some, it's because I haven't really gone that far and it's kind of better to just start over. There are others, however, like certain games, where once you come back, it slaps you in the face for being far behind and never gives you the chance to ever catch up. And catching up is far too grindy it would just gives you burnout instead of a proper welcome back experience.

That only happens to me in offline games. Once I leave a gacha.. there is no gong back.

I did this with summoners war, played it for a while, left because I just got bored, sometime later I got it back and it just stuck with me for about two more years of daily grind. Now I want to play it again, but couldn't find the time to actually get back into it as the re-learning routine part is what sucks for the most part. Same goes for WuWa, I loved the game, played on and off, but it's so damn hard to get back into it with how much stuff changes or how much they keep adding without letting me play the way I want.

I've done this a couple times but the ones that stuck the most are FGO - I just play it casually now, I don't rush anything and I've gotten a lot of units I wanted + the story and music is good. Blue Archive - Again came back mostly for the GDD story but then I fell hard for Trinity so I'm here to stay. Music is AMAZING.
Other mentions are Hi3rd funnily enough just like FGO I lost my OG account cause I was a dumb teen but that's okay cause I got Elysia and every battlesuit I wanted. I may return idk. I've returned to GBF alot but unfortunately haven't stuck around but I wanted to mention it since I enjoyed alot of the events I came back for. Music and story wise. Pokemon Go too, it's improved ALOT and I really want that cosmog Pikachu for worlds. We'll see if I stick around long term.
Tldr I guess I usually come back when something interesting pops up or my favorite character gets an update and well curiosity killed the cat. 😋 Some games I don't think I'll ever return to like genshin or HSR, they became a chore so I stopped playing. Not even Swimsuit Robin could pull me back.

tbh, once i quitted, i quit, only hopping back once or twice for a week or so during anni
The only exception is limbus, i quitted for 3 months, 2 months, somehow is there. ig it's just that special for me (yes glaze), plus, the account maintenance is piss easy, barely any fomo

u/GardevoirRose HSR, Endfield 3d ago
Not fully. I'm kinda back for genshin which means back for every new story patch. But besides that no. I'l try and stick around but usually I remember why I left to begin with.

Me with wuwa, quit 2 times and came back around 3.3 and play it everyday ever since, same as Endfield came back in 1.2 and still having fun(I am mid spender now)

u/honeybutterpancake 3d ago
did it like 5 times with reverse1999. love the game writing and art, but the gameplay is so ass i cant. same with limbus

u/Keogi2300 nte hsr 3d ago
I have a rule to only play 2 gachas simultaneously at max, but I rotate a lot between them, the one Ive played the most is hsr and I have quit tons of times since release, rn I only play nte and czn, and even those I dont play everyday. Have to say nte is pretty generous with pulls in comparision with hsr, wich makes it coming back or playing casually easier

Fate. I was behind by like 5 major updates/lostbelts. Got back into it because I bit the bullet and downloaded bluestacks. It's so much easier playing and reading on my computer + farming with macros.

Me and Disney Hero Battle...then it shut down.
I do it with Genshin all the time too.

My principle is that if I have a leave a game becuz something offended me enough(im very tolerant) I dont ever come back even if its better. I also dont like missing resources on gacha games so that enforce the idea of never coming back even more xD

u/Kylerocks444 3d ago
I'm a big spender and usually, when I quit a game, it's because I no longer find enjoyment in it.
Congratulations to HSR for being the first gacha I've ever quit.

u/jasondsa22 3d ago
Reverse 1999 is the only gacha I feel that makes it worth coming back to.
Most other gacha, like Hoyo ones feel like you're being punished for not playing sooner. Hoyo games rely way too much on fomo. ZZZ for example why wouldn't the free event skins stay free? Like who would pay for the kungfu pandas skin. I also have every banner character released in 1.0 and 2.0 but the game still feels like it's too busy and the story keeps getting worse.

Came back to FGO briefly for the summer Dubai event, spent all free pulls, and dipped.

u/SnooCupcakes1473 2d ago
The games I stick with are the ones I never took a break from. I think it’s because I like to play like a collector so if I come back after a long break and am missing a lot of characters I feel annoyed and can’t keep playing anymore

Negative return: I returned to Nikke, but not in a good way, because my friends insisted and it's the only common gacha between us.
I left because I hated the endless Power Level chasing, demand and the fact it gated the Main Sory, it was 1 of 2 the gachas that made be feel like shit for not being up to date while limited time events sometimes refenced immeditate new story, it wasn't even banner FOMO, it was story FOMO.
Eventually I uninstalled, "Story Mode" was implemented, my two friends kept going and one surpassed me and is very endgamed. Like I said, I returned, 2 months ago, because of my friends, but despite them and the Nikke's supposedly powerful Favourite Item System, which apparently you NEED FULL FUCKING DUPES FOR so fuckit that can't help me.
I uninstalled yesterday, because the love was lost and everytime I startup Nikke I feel like shit, because I used to like Nikke and its story but I can't care due to the powerscaling, and "Story Mode" can't help when I personally always feel negative all that is Nikke now.
Arknights has replaced Nikke as of yesterday, I'm already an endgame Endfield player, and looking forward to its reportedly great story and anime.

For me it's ZZZ. Especially whenever they're in the season of giving away a lot of stuff

Arknights - Funnily enough, I started day one but left when the event was just Vignette events, left cuz the game was kind of lacking in content at the time.
Then came Heart of Surging Flame and the rest was history. Man, I love Arknights.

Yeah, got back into hsr again after not playing it for a while. It's nice to fall back in love with a game that means a lot to me again.

I stopped playing game for weeks because a very hard exam is incoming, after the exam I finally playing all the game again except one I forgot to play for almost a year, when a content from them pop up on my youtube recommendation random sunday I just "o shii I forgot about this game" then playing the game again.

Nikke! My account is from day two because I just liked trying new gacha games when they came out, then after a few days I uninstalled because I didn’t have much storage.
Then I redownloaded just before Snow White Heavy Arms banner and now I play every single day and even got my sister to play as well!
The reason I came back was because I really loved the Dorothy scale figures, I’ve maxed out her summer alt and bought the gacha skin for her default which I still don’t have ☹️

I've played r1999 since release but have quit and returned so many times that my actual login count is only like 400+ days lol. Have a blast for a while -> get bored and quit -> return for cool chara or story -> repeat

Played Honkai Star Rail, jumped before even finishing the PROLOGUE, came back just recently to acquire the full Fate team to play as and just got the last one, Gil, a couple of days ago and I did it solely by playing the story missions and a couple of side quests plus the first Fate story and once I reach the point of moving to the second half of Planarcadia, I will play the second Fate story.

If I quit a gacha, I specifically handicap myself and spend all my resources/currencies so I won't think about going back since it's not much better than creating a new account.

u/Living_Thunder Blue Archive, ZZZ, Genshin 4d ago
I went from playing BA every other day to logging in every 3 hours to touch my students
I stopped playing Blue Archive like twice, first because I was tired of it playing horribly on phone, and later even after I came back, I stopped playing again because I failed to get Hikari, Nozomi, and Seia because of my lack of time and playtime because it was my second or third game after genshin (might have been playing HSR at the time?).
I came back at full force when Kei's design was revealed and she released in JP back in January, also coinciding with the time I decided I was pretty much done with Genshin with my personal dissapointment of the NodKrai quests ending. I decided to actually play and save until she released in Global, daily this time and actually starting to do dailies like spending stamina (was not level 90 despite starting on December of 2024!). And now I actively do raids and try to do torment or at least insane depending on my characters, and log in every 3 hours to touch my students to make us closer to each other (Just reached bond 50 with Kei, Bond 40 with Battle Aris, and my dress Hina is at bond 53).

lvl 90 and been playing for 4 or 5 yearsand i just auto hardcore raids now. i hate learning the stategies to beat the different bosses. i cant imagine doung torment, it sounds like 247 malding
1
u/Living_Thunder Blue Archive, ZZZ, Genshin 4d ago
Some torments are harder than others. I try doing torment if I can, but I've only actually beaten Perorodzilla and Binah, and maybe another I can't remember. For now I still have the time to take the time to learn the strategies, but I can see how it could get really annoying once I get busy. Especially total assault which you need to do daily

I dropped WuWa after Black Shores and Shorekeeper was first introduced. Completed the patch and pulled SK but I got bored due to lack of content at the time.
Saw the Fleurdelys trailer and was sucked back in lmao

u/Puzzleheaded-Loan-60 || HSR || WuWa || AK:E || Uma Musume || 4d ago
I have returned only to three gachas.
Uma Musume as they addressed a lot of issues and I can play it on new phone.
WuWa, as HSR is very boring this year and I heard good things about Lahai-Roi. Though I most likely quit again as the game is not my cup of tea again.
And Arknights Endfield. I like the universe and developers are addressing a lot of issues. Guess I’ll main it from now on.
1
u/Dianwei32 Arknights: Factorio, WuWa, ZZZ 3d ago
It depends on the reason(s) I quit. I go through a cycle every 6-8 months where I'll see something cool from a game I used to play like the Cyberpunk collab in WuWa and I'll go back to check it out. Then I start playing more and more gacha games until I'm juggling like 5 or 6 and they're basically all I play. Then I get burnt out on them and quit them all. Rinse and repeat.
If I enjoyed a game but quit because of the burnout (e.g. WuWa or ZZZ), then I'll probably go back and play it. If it was a game that I quit because I wasn't enjoying it (e.g. Genshin, NTE, Endfield), then I probably won't go back and check it out.

Mecharashi.
Played it a little during launch and dropped it after a few weeks. Picked it back up again on its anniversary and have been having a good time.

Come back full force, no. What I generally do is:
