Are there no longer upcoming gacha games that are portrait oriented?

For many reasons, when playing on my phone I prefer to play portrait / vertical games, but they seem such a minority nowadays. I’ve played Grand Summoners for a while, and Last Cloudia for a few years (probably my favorite).

World Flipper was so fun but didn’t last long…

I got burned out from nikke and am now looking for a new game to play but there doesn’t seem to be many options for me anymore.

Dragalia lost never released in my region… and so far Dragon Quest Smash/grow doesn’t seem to be coming out for my region neither.

How many of yall are like me and prefer these sorts of games? do you wish there were more portrait titles?

Holy shit. DC was the reason why I supported Nikke and spent money on it in hopes that they make a sequel or something. DC was far more interesting game unlike the glorified horny duck shooting game that Nikke is.

God knows that with Stellar Blade and Nikke, people know they're good quality so they might wanna try the game.

Most gacha game now aim for the pc and console client too, so horizontal work better in both the long and short run. Since gamers also have been used to the horizontal screen on mobile

It’s a shame so many have such negative reactions to portrait mode games, as two of my favorite gachas were oriented that way: Star Ocean Anamnesis, and Tales of Luminaria.

I think there’s a learning curve to it that scares people off because they haven’t seen the other side, and so think it’ll feel restrictive forever. At least with action games.

Im still playing Crash Fever, and was playing Shironeko for a bit not too long ago.

Crash Fever is a game Ive been playing for many many years now, but I quit for a while after Global EoS, and started fresh on JP back in January.

I need more portrait mode games tbh as its my pref way of mobile gaming, but its understandable as per usual, Im always somehow in the minority XD.

The game is good, one the highest quality gachas with actual gameplay before Genshin. People still have trouble finding something similar.

Raid events (roughly half of all events) are activated by server host on request and are not available at all time.

There are some issues with collabs (namely Mega Man and Monster Hunter), because iOS files for them weren't saved and you need an Android phone or an emulator to play them (Collab characters are available everywhere)

Nekopara, though it forces landscape mode for story scenes. Most of the actual gameplay is done in portrait mode though.

There sure is! I can't say whether it's GOOD or not, launch was a hot mess and I find the gameplay a bit tedious? But the bulk of the issues should be resolved by now and you might like the gameplay more than I did!

Sensultra recently released. I'd assume some of the annouced otomes (silent whispers) are gonna be partly portrait mode (similar to lads). Sword X staff also recently released. Perhaps night and light will have a global release soon since they had the sea release a few months back..

No idea about upcoming but I'm currently playing Last Cloudia and AFK Journey which are both portrait (on mobile though, landscape on PC). AFK Journey is just for the story and character designs tho, gameplay is meh.

Not that I recommend anyone play it, but the hentai game Tenka fuma had the best portrait mode/1 handed gameplay I've seen in a mobile game. If it wasn't stolen from somebody else, they should be licensing that UX to other games.

I don't know, I feel like in landscape mode an UI can still be bad and clunky, with small icons and all that, while good portrait games do have better UI. Maybe it takes getting used to, maybe depends on hands and finger size
