There was a teaser on World Flipper twitter - "A spin of another dimension". Most likely a sequel, but now we'll probably never know.

Rip potential future world flipper 2.

I assume Cygames would release it under their main name if they ever would decide to do a sequel. Anyway I never believed they would do a sequel after having to shut down the first.

Is World Flipper 2 dead in a ditch then?

Was it ever really a possibility? You usually donβt shut down your original IP game to release a sequel later.

Except that Cygames did do it with Princess Connect, where they shut down original game to release a sequel Re:Dive.

Did they also wait years between shutting it down and publishing the sequel? Seems like the pretty much instantly announced the sequel.

The OG Princess Connect shut down on June 2016, and Re:Dive started on May 2018. So, close to two years to relaunch the series.
While I hate how grindy their games eventually become, my best wishes to Cygames for at least launching somewhat interesting gacha games unlike the IP slop the 95% of their brethren does (I'm probably being generous here, might be 99%).

Disappointing, I really liked World Flipper even though I eventually stopped playing because of focus on other games. I was hopeful there was going to be a Second try of it like Priconne, but that seems dead now completely, or even just making another unique game experience would be fun too but alas.
