Good to see the boycott still in affect for Love and Deepspace. At least we girls know how to keep a boycott going and it's not just for social media clout.

Girls power is scary šŸ˜‚. Meanwhile I genshin when natlan come a lot of people want to boycott the game and doesn't want to pull for mavuika and citlali just for them to get more than 99m I guess men just talk but no action 🤣

No comment on the "men are just talk and no action." šŸ˜‚

But seriously we women don't like to be messed with and with how Infold has treated their global players, I'm glad LADS is suffering as of late. Global players should never be reduced down to being a cash cow for the company. LADS global is different to Infinity Nikki. We're a completely different bunch to Infinity Nikki global players. If Infold thinks this silent treatment will work just like it did with Infinity Nikki, then it's about to have a nasty wakeup call. If a company doesn't care about global opinions on their game then why release the game globally in the first place?

Aren't the ones who usually advocating a boycott in Genshin women though?

I don't really know any men who boycotts Genshin with the exception of maybe their first anniversary.

I respect you guys since I also thinking what infold did is so fcking stupid and they deserve it for what happen to the game now.

Time and time again men have shown they are just talk & no action. LADS, Infinity Nikki 1.5 & reverse 3rd anniversary show when women say they boycott, they mean it. Now Last 2 apologized & their revenue is back to previous numbers but LADs so far seems to be cooked

I mean Genshin has a more diverse fanbase and is not as monolithic as those other games, so you guys would definitely have more success in boycotting a company rather than a game with a melting pot fanbase filled with people of differing ideologies.

Or maybe it's just that boycotts in Hoyo games are nothing more than a vocal minority trying to force their opinions on everyone else, rather than actual boycotts. Which is exactly why they fail in most cases.

2

u/southfire19 6h ago

Funny part is the boycott being support by the VA even some cc do it and of course with the influence of the hoyo haters. At the end they still success I think that's prove how big the casual player is or those people who doesn't give a damn about the drama šŸ˜…

2

u/nihilnothings000 5h ago

Genshin is a large melting pot, no shit the boycotts don't work.

LADS' fanbase is more monolithic across Global & CN so of course it worked.

2

u/Chris_Z123 4h ago

it does work if the ones boycotting are affecting hoyo directly, and that only comes from China.

Truth be told, the 'outrage' in hoyo games is usually over something really trivial or something that a minority of playerbase hates and thinks should be removed or changed even when the silent majority likes it or is at least okay with it, it feels like sometimes some people just want new things to get angry over because they're bored. Back then it was Natlan skin tones, recently it's even more dumb things like Sandrone's skirt, Castorice getting more promo as an anniversary unit (what). The new drama on the block is over Danica's skirt lol. Hard to boycott when they aren't actual problems and are just the ramblings of drama farmers or agendaposters

4

u/nihilnothings000 5h ago

But the ones who said that they want to boycott Genshin tend to also be women though....

LADS has a relatively more monolithic fanbase than Genshin, which is a melting pot.

The super woke Genshin fans are a minority, most people who play couldn't give two shits about representation or whatever Twitter issue it is.

I wouldn't say it's a man problem but an overall problem that rises when the game is too popular and loved for the entire fanbase to stay united. For lads barely any youtuber or anyone covered it. No larpers or content farms just girls that were enjoying one of the only decent gacha games that exist for them and now deciding to get their rights back. Meanwhile genshin was just hundreds of videos on YouTube larping and going with the popular "spicy" takes to get some views. Genshin has obsessed fans ranging from children to grown men and women and I don't think all would even know this boycott even exists or care about it at all

Sure if you don’t count the fact that the boycott is two major groups boycotting where neither can be simultaneously satisfied and infighting is basically a constant occurrence

27

u/Dramatic_Pin3971 6h ago

No , only valko supporters are boycotting. If you go to lads og subreddit, they were trying to get everyone spend their money to show valko supporters, that our boycott wouldn't amount to anything.

3

u/ineedtoknow707 6h ago

Open XHS, you realise half of them are still upset that Infold didn’t address them and still hate Infold for the political controversy they got into

10

u/Dramatic_Pin3971 5h ago

Okay they might still hate it ,but are they boycotting? No.

0

u/ineedtoknow707 4h ago

They are. Mainly due to still being upset over other issues, main story, battles, etc.

I’m no boycotter but even I can see that. Though it’s hardly as if I agree with either

3

u/sackedloaf 6h ago

Yeah, the global sentiment tends to get overrepresented on the EN side, but there are CN players who are still mad and boycotting because Infold dared to announce Valko in the first place. I'd even say that on XHS, a lot of those players don't seem to care or no longer bring up the original issues they were pushing for, it's just pure hatred toward the character and Infold now.

13

u/smnsalt 5h ago

Ok then how would Infold even get those players back? They apologized and deleted the character what more could they possibly do?Ā

2

u/Local-Treacle-5801 6h ago

on the global side, the loudest and most organised boycott is Valko related. That doesn’t mean that nobody who is anti-Valko isn’t boycotting for their own reasons on global but it isn’t an organised movement because genuinely speaking, the only thing global seems to care enough to actually mobilise about is Valko and not the lighting issues and QOL stuff.

But CN isn’t the same. Caleb mains are boycotting, Sylus mains are also boycotting. The girlies mad about the political situation thing still boycotting. And since they are historically most of the game’s revenue, reducing it down to just pro-Valko is doing an active disservice to their hard work.

-6

u/JumpingYourBone 5h ago

Girl, look at the mf charts. Lads is not losing much money because of global (we struggle to go above 10 millions), but they lose money because your dog was released. Look at march of this year.

•

u/lazyinternetsandwich 3h ago

nobody claimed that they lost money because of the global only. the point was that the CN side has been boycotting. they lose money because infold has not addressed the problems and not because of valko was released.

and it's interesting to see the og5 cultists finally admit that revenue has been lost. at least this will stop the " omg getting 1 million in china in day one is amazing" nonsense Lmaoo when raf's lsg banner got 4mil + in day one... 80% drop is crazy.

and if valko was the problem then the revenue should have been normal cos he's not there now right? but nah let's blame him. where are the majority whales who wanted valko gone now?

13

u/Ok-Ad-2435 5h ago

Girl you were in the lads OG5 sub in the WhalesInAction thread talking about how you're a Caleb main but would spend a little for the fishie~ sit this conversation out. Don't be a clown for free at least get paid for it or something.Ā

-2

u/ineedtoknow707 5h ago

Never claimed to be a boycotter, but acting like it’s one big group boycotting is being wilfully blind

•

u/lazyinternetsandwich 3h ago

ofc it's an og5 person trying to down play the valko angle, according to you folks initially the banner did really well and now you say the revenue has tanked cause people have other reasons to boycott... no consistency all delusion

•

u/ineedtoknow707 3h ago

Rafayel’s banner did well, we were very solidly in the top 5 for the first day of his banner.

Yes there are other people boycotting, I’m not obviously but there’s CN players who are since they’re still mad about the political stuff and other issues about the game. None of which is my concern but you’re willfully ignorant if you don’t recognise that there’s other boycotters.

I don’t care if Valko comes back or not, ultimately Infold isn’t addressing anything anyone now and that’s probably for the best

Doesn’t explain why revenue didnt really trend down (aside from normal end-of-multi trend down) until after cancellation. Clearly people upset at him being added werent the money makers (theres even a bump during the period between announce and cancellation). One boycott is significantly more impactful than the other it seems.

And sensor tower DAU (trusted data) doesnt show a substantial drop until after cancellation

Sorry, but this shows the cn revenue was on trend until cancellation where it just never recovered after lol. The private trip rerun after announce performed even slightly better than the exclusive tutorial rerun.

() lol. Grow up, you clearly don’t want to have a respectful discussion [for those unaware - the lads_og subreddit refuses to call Valko by name and will use () or ā€˜mutt’ or Velcro or ā™»ļø, anything but his actual name because they are bitter about the Valko boycott and are annoyed because they dont know how to ignore comments and discourse they dont like/agree with. Hence why they created their own subreddit to hate on Valko and the Valko boycott under the guise of wanting a dedicated space for the other 5 LIs.]
